John Chapter 1
The elder unto the wellbeloved Gaiuswhom I love in thetruth.
BelovedI wish above all things that thou mayest prosper andbe in healtheven as thy soul prospereth.
For I rejoiced greatlywhen the brethren came and testifiedof the truth that is in theeeven as thou walkest in thetruth.
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk intruth.
Belovedthou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to thebrethrenand to strangers
Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godlysortthou shalt do well
Because that for his name s sake they went forthtakingnothing of the Gentiles.
We therefore ought to receive suchthat we might befellowhelpers to the truth.
I wrote unto the churchbut Diotrepheswho loveth to havethe preeminence among themreceiveth us not.
Whereforeif I comeI will remember his deeds which hedoethprating against us with malicious wordsand notcontent therewithneither doth he himself receive thebrethrenand forbiddeth them that wouldand casteth them outof the church.
Belovedfollow not that which is evilbut that which isgood. He that doeth good is of Godbut he that doeth evilhath not seen God.
Demetrius hath good report of all menand of the truthitselfyeaand we also bear recordand ye know that ourrecord is true.
I had many things to writebut I will not with ink and penwrite unto thee
But I trust I shall shortly see theeand we shall speak faceto face. Peace be to thee. Our friends salute thee. Greet thefriends by name.
