Revelation Chapter 18
1 And after these things I saw another angel come down fromheavenhaving great powerand the earth was lightened withhis glory.
2 And he cried mightily with a strong voicesayingBabylon thegreat is fallenis fallenand is become the habitation ofdevilsand the hold of every foul spiritand a cage of everyunclean and hateful bird.
3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of herfornicationand the kings of the earth have committedfornication with herand the merchants of the earth are waxedrich through the abundance of her delicacies.
4 And I heard another voice from heavensayingCome out ofhermy peoplethat ye be not partakers of her sinsand thatye receive not of her plagues.
5 For her sins have reached unto heavenand God hath rememberedher iniquities.
6 Reward her even as she rewarded youand double unto herdouble according to her worksin the cup which she hathfilled fill to her double.
7 How much she hath glorified herselfand lived deliciouslysomuch torment and sorrow give herfor she saith in her heartI sit a queenand am no widowand shall see no sorrow.
8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one daydeathandmourningand famineand she shall be utterly burned withfirefor strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.
9 And the kings of the earthwho have committed fornication andlived deliciously with hershall bewail herand lament forherwhen they shall see the smoke of her burning
10 Standing afar off for the fear of her tormentsayingAlasalas that great city Babylonthat mighty cityfor in onehour is thy judgment come.
11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her for no man buyeth their merchandise any more
12 The merchandise of goldand silverand precious stonesandof pearlsand fine linenand purpleand silkand scarlet and all thyine woodand all manner vessels of ivoryand allmanner vessels of most precious woodand of brassand iron and marble
13 And cinnamonand odoursand ointmentsand frankincenseandwineand oiland fine flourand wheatand beastsandsheepand horsesand chariotsand slavesand souls of men.
14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed fromtheeand all things which were dainty and goodly are departedfrom theeand thou shalt find them no more at all.
15 The merchants of these thingswhich were made rich by hershall stand afar off for the fear of her tormentweeping andwailing
16 And sayingAlasalas that great citythat was clothed infine linenand purpleand scarletand decked with goldandprecious stonesand pearls
17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And everyshipmasterand all the company in shipsand sailorsand asmany as trade by seastood afar off
18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burningsayingWhatcity is like unto this great city
19 And they cast dust on their headsand criedweeping andwailingsayingAlasalas that great citywherein were maderich all that had ships in the sea by reason of hercostlinessfor in one hour is she made desolate.
20 Rejoice over herthou heavenand ye holy apostles andprophetsfor God hath avenged you on her.
21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstoneandcast it into the seasayingThus with violence shall thatgreat city Babylon be thrown downand shall be found no moreat all.
22 And the voice of harpersand musiciansand of pipersandtrumpetersshall be heard no more at all in theeand nocraftsmanof whatsoever craft he beshall be found any morein theeand the sound of a millstone shall be heard no moreat all in thee
23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in theeand the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall beheard no more at all in theefor thy merchants were the greatmen of the earthfor by thy sorceries were all nationsdeceived.
24 And in her was found the blood of prophetsand of saintsandof all that were slain upon the earth.
