When Jesus understood ithe said unto themWhy trouble yethe womanfor she hath wrought a good work upon me.

For ye have the poor always with youbut me ye have notalways.

The Son of man goeth as it is written of himbut woe untothat man by whom the Son of man is betrayedit had been goodfor that man if he had not been born.

Then Judaswhich betrayed himanswered and saidMasterisit IHe said unto himThou hast said.

And as they were eatingJesus took breadand blessed itandbrake itand gave it to the disciplesand saidTakeeat this is my body.

And he took the cupand gave thanksand gave it to themsayingDrink ye all of it

For this is my blood of the new testamentwhich is shed formany for the remission of sins.

But I say unto youI will not drink henceforth of this fruitof the vineuntil that day when I drink it new with you in myFather s kingdom.

And when they had sung an hymnthey went out into the mountof Olives.

Then saith Jesus unto themAll ye shall be offended becauseof me this nightfor it is writtenI will smite theshepherdand the sheep of the flock shall be scatteredabroad.

And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedeeandbegan to be sorrowful and very heavy.

Then saith he unto themMy soul is exceeding sorrowfulevenunto deathtarry ye hereand watch with me.

And he went a little fartherand fell on his faceandprayedsayingO my Fatherif it be possiblelet this cuppass from menevertheless not as I willbut as thou wilt.

And he cometh unto the disciplesand findeth them asleepandsaith unto PeterWhatcould ye not watch with me one hour

But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilledthat thus itmust be

In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudesAre ye comeout as against a thief with swords and staves for to take meI sat daily with you teaching in the templeand ye laid nohold on me.

But all this was donethat the scriptures of the prophetsmight be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook himandfled.

And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphasthe high priestwhere the scribes and the elders wereassembled.

But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest s palaceand went inand sat with the servantsto see the end.
