Mark Chapter 10
1 And he arose from thenceand cometh into the coasts of Judaeaby the farther side of Jordanand the people resort unto himagainandas he was wonthe taught them again.
2 And the Pharisees came to himand asked himIs it lawful fora man to put away his wifetempting him.
3 And he answered and said unto themWhat did Moses commandyou
4 And they saidMoses suffered to write a bill of divorcementand to put her away.
5 And Jesus answered and said unto themFor the hardness ofyour heart he wrote you this precept.
6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male andfemale.
7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and motherandcleave to his wife
8 And they twain shall be one fleshso then they are no moretwainbut one flesh.
9 What therefore God hath joined togetherlet not man putasunder.
10 And in the house his disciples asked him again of the samematter.
11 And he saith unto themWhosoever shall put away his wifeandmarry anothercommitteth adultery against her.
12 And if a woman shall put away her husbandand be married toanothershe committeth adultery.
13 And they brought young children to himthat he should touchthemand his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
14 But when Jesus saw ithe was much displeasedand said untothemSuffer the little children to come unto meand forbidthem notfor of such is the kingdom of God.
15 Verily I say unto youWhosoever shall not receive the kingdomof God as a little childhe shall not enter therein.
16 And he took them up in his armsput his hands upon themandblessed them.
17 And when he was gone forth into the waythere came onerunningand kneeled to himand asked himGood Masterwhatshall I do that I may inherit eternal life
18 And Jesus said unto himWhy callest thou me goodthere isnone good but onethat isGod.
19 Thou knowest the commandmentsDo not commit adulteryDo notkillDo not stealDo not bear false witnessDefraud not Honour thy father and mother.
20 And he answered and said unto himMasterall these have Iobserved from my youth.
21 Then Jesus beholding him loved himand said unto himOnething thou lackestgo thy waysell whatsoever thou hastandgive to the poorand thou shalt have treasure in heavenandcometake up the crossand follow me.
22 And he was sad at that sayingand went away grievedfor hehad great possessions.
23 And Jesus looked round aboutand saith unto his disciples How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdomof God
24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesusanswereth againand saith unto themChildrenhow hard is itfor them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom ofGod
25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needlethan for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
26 And they were astonished out of measuresaying amongthemselvesWho then can be saved
27 And Jesus looking upon them saithWith men it is impossiblebut not with Godfor with God all things are possible.
28 Then Peter began to say unto himLowe have left allandhave followed thee.
29 And Jesus answered and saidVerily I say unto youThere isno man that hath left houseor brethrenor sistersorfatheror motheror wifeor childrenor landsfor mysakeand the gospel s
30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this timehousesand brethrenand sistersand mothersand childrenandlandswith persecutionsand in the world to come eternallife.
31 But many that are first shall be lastand the last first.
32 And they were in the way going up to Jerusalemand Jesus wentbefore themand they were amazedand as they followedtheywere afraid. And he took again the twelveand began to tellthem what things should happen unto him
33 SayingBeholdwe go up to Jerusalemand the Son of manshall be delivered unto the chief priestsand unto thescribesand they shall condemn him to deathand shalldeliver him to the Gentiles
34 And they shall mock himand shall scourge himand shall spitupon himand shall kill himand the third day he shall riseagain.
35 And James and Johnthe sons of Zebedeecome unto himsayingMasterwe would that thou shouldest do for uswhatsoever we shall desire.
36 And he said unto themWhat would ye that I should do for you
37 They said unto himGrant unto us that we may sitone on thyright handand the other on thy left handin thy glory.
38 But Jesus said unto themYe know not what ye askcan yedrink of the cup that I drink ofand be baptized with thebaptism that I am baptized with
39 And they said unto himWe can. And Jesus said unto themYeshall indeed drink of the cup that I drink ofand with thebaptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized
40 But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine togivebut it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.
41 And when the ten heard itthey began to be much displeasedwith James and John.
42 But Jesus called them to himand saith unto themYe knowthat they which are accounted to rule over the Gentilesexercise lordship over themand their great ones exerciseauthority upon them.
43 But so shall it not be among youbut whosoever will be greatamong youshall be your minister
44 And whosoever of you will be the chiefestshall be servant ofall.
45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered untobut toministerand to give his life a ransom for many.
46 And they came to Jerichoand as he went out of Jericho withhis disciples and a great number of peopleblind Bartimaeus the son of Timaeussat by the highway side begging.
47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazarethhe began tocry outand sayJesusthou son of Davidhave mercy on me.
48 And many charged him that he should hold his peacebut hecried the more a great dealThou son of Davidhave mercy onme.
49 And Jesus stood stilland commanded him to be called. Andthey call the blind mansaying unto himBe of good comfortrisehe calleth thee.
50 And hecasting away his garmentroseand came to Jesus.
51 And Jesus answered and said unto himWhat wilt thou that Ishould do unto theeThe blind man said unto himLordthat Imight receive my sight.
52 And Jesus said unto himGo thy waythy faith hath made theewhole. And immediately he received his sightand followedJesus in the way.
