What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard dohe will comeand destroy the husbandmenand will give the vineyard untoothers.

And have ye not read this scriptureThe stone which thebuilders rejected is become the head of the corner

This was the Lord s doingand it is marvellous in our eyes

And they sought to lay hold on himbut feared the peopleforthey knew that he had spoken the parable against themandthey left himand went their way.

And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of theHerodiansto catch him in his words.

And when they were comethey say unto himMasterwe knowthat thou art trueand carest for no manfor thou regardestnot the person of menbut teachest the way of God in truth Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesaror not

Shall we giveor shall we not giveBut heknowing theirhypocrisysaid unto themWhy tempt ye mebring me a penny that I may see it.

And they brought it. And he saith unto themWhose is thisimage and superscriptionAnd they said unto himCaesar s.

And Jesus answering said unto themRender to Caesar thethings that are Caesar sand to God the things that areGod s. And they marvelled at him.

Then come unto him the Sadduceeswhich say there is noresurrectionand they asked himsaying

MasterMoses wrote unto usIf a man s brother dieand leavehis wife behind himand leave no childrenthat his brothershould take his wifeand raise up seed unto his brother.

Now there were seven brethrenand the first took a wifeanddying left no seed.

And the second took herand diedneither left he any seedand the third likewise.

And the seven had herand left no seedlast of all the womandied also.

In the resurrection thereforewhen they shall risewhosewife shall she be of themfor the seven had her to wife.

And Jesus answering said unto themDo ye not therefore errbecause ye know not the scripturesneither the power of God

For when they shall rise from the deadthey neither marry nor are given in marriagebut are as the angels which are inheaven.

And as touching the deadthat they risehave ye not read inthe book of Moseshow in the bush God spake unto himsaying I am the God of Abrahamand the God of Isaacand the God ofJacob

He is not the God of the deadbut the God of the livingyetherefore do greatly err.

And one of the scribes cameand having heard them reasoningtogetherand perceiving that he had answered them wellaskedhimWhich is the first commandment of all

And Jesus answered himThe first of all the commandments is HearO IsraelThe Lord our God is one Lord

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heartandwith all thy souland with all thy mindand with all thystrengththis is the first commandment.

And the second is likenamely thisThou shalt love thyneighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greaterthan these.

And the scribe said unto himWellMasterthou hast said thetruthfor there is one Godand there is none other but he

And to love him with all the heartand with all theunderstandingand with all the souland with all thestrengthand to love his neighbour as himselfis more thanall whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.

And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetlyhe said untohimThou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no manafter that durst ask him any question.

And Jesus answered and saidwhile he taught in the temple How say the scribes that Christ is the son of David

For David himself said by the Holy GhostThe LORD said to myLordSit thou on my right handtill I make thine enemies thyfootstool.

David therefore himself calleth him Lordand whence is hethen his sonAnd the common people heard him gladly.

And he said unto them in his doctrineBeware of the scribes which love to go in long clothingand love salutations in themarketplaces

And the chief seats in the synagoguesand the uppermost roomsat feasts

Which devour widowshousesand for a pretence make longprayersthese shall receive greater damnation.

And Jesus sat over against the treasuryand beheld how thepeople cast money into the treasuryand many that were richcast in much.

And there came a certain poor widowand she threw in twomiteswhich make a farthing.

And he called unto him his disciplesand saith unto them Verily I say unto youThat this poor widow hath cast more in than all they which have cast into the treasury
