Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for tohear him.

And the Pharisees and scribes murmuredsayingThis manreceiveth sinnersand eateth with them.

And he spake this parable unto themsaying

What man of youhaving an hundred sheepif he lose one ofthemdoth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness and go after that which is lostuntil he find it

And when he hath found ithe layeth it on his shoulders rejoicing.

And when he cometh homehe calleth together his friends andneighbourssaying unto themRejoice with mefor I havefound my sheep which was lost.

I say unto youthat likewise joy shall be in heaven over onesinner that repentethmore than over ninety and nine justpersonswhich need no repentance.

Either what woman having ten pieces of silverif she lose onepiecedoth not light a candleand sweep the houseand seekdiligently till she find it

And when she hath found itshe calleth her friends and herneighbours togethersayingRejoice with mefor I have foundthe piece which I had lost.

LikewiseI say unto youthere is joy in the presence of theangels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

And he saidA certain man had two sons

And the younger of them said to his fatherFathergive methe portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided untothem his living.

And not many days after the younger son gathered all togetherand took his journey into a far countryand there wasted hissubstance with riotous living.

And when he had spent allthere arose a mighty famine in thatlandand he began to be in want.

And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that countryand he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks thatthe swine did eatand no man gave unto him.

And when he came to himselfhe saidHow many hired servantsof my father s have bread enough and to spareand I perishwith hunger

I will arise and go to my fatherand will say unto himFatherI have sinned against heavenand before thee

And am no more worthy to be called thy sonmake me as one ofthy hired servants.

And he aroseand came to his father. But when he was yet agreat way offhis father saw himand had compassionandranand fell on his neckand kissed him.

And the son said unto himFatherI have sinned againstheavenand in thy sightand am no more worthy to be calledthy son.

But the father said to his servantsBring forth the bestrobeand put it on himand put a ring on his handand shoeson his feet

And bring hither the fatted calfand kill itand let us eatand be merry

For this my son was deadand is alive againhe was lostandis found. And they began to be merry.

Now his elder son was in the fieldand as he came and drewnigh to the househe heard musick and dancing.

And he called one of the servantsand asked what these thingsmeant.

And he said unto himThy brother is comeand thy father hathkilled the fatted calfbecause he hath received him safe andsound.

And he was angryand would not go intherefore came hisfather outand intreated him.

And he answering said to his fatherLothese many years do Iserve theeneither transgressed I at any time thycommandmentand yet thou never gavest me a kidthat I mightmake merry with my friends
