When therefore the LORD knew how the Pharisees had heard thatJesus made and baptized more disciples than John

Though Jesus himself baptized notbut his disciples

He left Judaeaand departed again into Galilee.

And he must needs go through Samaria.

Then cometh he to a city of Samariawhich is called Sycharnear to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his sonJoseph.

Now Jacob s well was there. Jesus thereforebeing weariedwith his journeysat thus on the welland it was about thesixth hour.

There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw waterJesus saithunto herGive me to drink.

For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.

Then saith the woman of Samaria unto himHow is it that thou being a Jewaskest drink of mewhich am a woman of Samaria for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.

Jesus answered and said unto herIf thou knewest the gift ofGodand who it is that saith to theeGive me to drinkthouwouldest have asked of himand he would have given theeliving water.

The woman saith unto himSirthou hast nothing to draw withand the well is deepfrom whence then hast thou that livingwater

Art thou greater than our father Jacobwhich gave us thewelland drank thereof himselfand his childrenand hiscattle

Jesus answered and said unto herWhosoever drinketh of thiswater shall thirst again

But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give himshall never thirstbut the water that I shall give him shallbe in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

The woman saith unto himSirgive me this waterthat Ithirst notneither come hither to draw.

Jesus saith unto herGocall thy husbandand come hither.

The woman answered and saidI have no husband. Jesus saidunto herThou hast well saidI have no husband

For thou hast had five husbandsand he whom thou now hast isnot thy husbandin that saidst thou truly.

The woman saith unto himSirI perceive that thou art aprophet.

Our fathers worshipped in this mountainand ye saythat inJerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

Jesus saith unto herWomanbelieve methe hour comethwhenye shall neither in this mountainnor yet at Jerusalem worship the Father.

Ye worship ye know not whatwe know what we worshipforsalvation is of the Jews.

But the hour comethand now iswhen the true worshippersshall worship the Father in spirit and in truthfor theFather seeketh such to worship him.

God is a Spiritand they that worship him must worship him inspirit and in truth.

The woman saith unto himI know that Messias comethwhich iscalled Christwhen he is comehe will tell us all things.

Jesus saith unto herI that speak unto thee am he.

And upon this came his disciplesand marvelled that he talkedwith the womanyet no man saidWhat seekest thouorWhytalkest thou with her

The woman then left her waterpotand went her way into thecityand saith to the men

Comesee a manwhich told me all things that ever I didisnot this the Christ

Then they went out of the cityand came unto him.

In the mean while his disciples prayed himsayingMaster eat.

But he said unto themI have meat to eat that ye know not of.

Therefore said the disciples one to anotherHath any manbrought him ought to eat

Jesus saith unto themMy meat is to do the will of him thatsent meand to finish his work.

Say not yeThere are yet four monthsand then comethharvestbeholdI say unto youLift up your eyesand lookon the fieldsfor they are white already to harvest.

And he that reapeth receiveth wagesand gathereth fruit untolife eternalthat both he that soweth and he that reapeth mayrejoice together.

And herein is that saying trueOne sowethand anotherreapeth.

I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labourothermen labouredand ye are entered into their labours.

And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him forthe saying of the womanwhich testifiedHe told me all thatever I did.

So when the Samaritans were come unto himthey besought himthat he would tarry with themand he abode there two days.

And many more believed because of his own word

And said unto the womanNow we believenot because of thysayingfor we have heard him ourselvesand know that this isindeed the Christthe Saviour of the world.

Now after two days he departed thenceand went into Galilee.

For Jesus himself testifiedthat a prophet hath no honour inhis own country.

Then when he was come into Galileethe Galilaeans receivedhimhaving seen all the things that he did at Jerusalem atthe feastfor they also went unto the feast.

So Jesus came again into Cana of Galileewhere he made thewater wine. And there was a certain noblemanwhose son wassick at Capernaum.

When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galileehe went unto himand besought him that he would come downand heal his sonfor he was at the point of death.

Then said Jesus unto himExcept ye see signs and wondersyewill not believe.

The nobleman saith unto himSircome down ere my child die.

Jesus saith unto himGo thy waythy son liveth. And the manbelieved the word that Jesus had spoken unto himand he wenthis way.

And as he was now going downhis servants met himand toldhimsayingThy son liveth.

Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. Andthey said unto himYesterday at the seventh hour the feverleft him.

So the father knew that it was at the same hourin the whichJesus said unto himThy son livethand himself believedandhis whole house.

This is again the second miracle that Jesus didwhen he wascome out of Judaea into Galilee.
