John Chapter 7

After these things Jesus walked in Galileefor he would notwalk in Jewrybecause the Jews sought to kill him.

Now the Jew s feast of tabernacles was at hand.

His brethren therefore said unto himDepart henceand gointo Judaeathat thy disciples also may see the works thatthou doest.

For there is no man that doeth any thing in secretand hehimself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these thingsshew thyself to the world.

For neither did his brethren believe in him.

Then Jesus said unto themMy time is not yet comebut yourtime is alway ready.

The world cannot hate youbut me it hatethbecause I testifyof itthat the works thereof are evil.

Go ye up unto this feastI go not up yet unto this feastformy time is not yet full come.

When he had said these words unto themhe abode still inGalilee.

But when his brethren were gone upthen went he also up untothe feastnot openlybut as it were in secret.

Then the Jews sought him at the feastand saidWhere is he

And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him for some saidHe is a good manothers saidNaybut hedeceiveth the people.

Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews.

Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into thetempleand taught.

And the Jews marvelledsayingHow knoweth this man lettershaving never learned

Jesus answered themand saidMy doctrine is not minebuthis that sent me.

If any man will do his willhe shall know of the doctrinewhether it be of Godor whether I speak of myself.

He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glorybut he thatseeketh his glory that sent himthe same is trueand nounrighteousness is in him.

Did not Moses give you the lawand yet none of you keepeththe lawWhy go ye about to kill me

The people answered and saidThou hast a devilwho goethabout to kill thee

Jesus answered and said unto themI have done one workandye all marvel.

Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision not because it isof Mosesbut of the fathers and ye on the sabbath daycircumcise a man.

If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcisionthat the lawof Moses should not be brokenare ye angry at mebecause Ihave made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day

Judge not according to the appearancebut judge righteousjudgment.

Then said some of them of JerusalemIs not this hewhom theyseek to kill

Butlohe speaketh boldlyand they say nothing unto him. Dothe rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ

Howbeit we know this man whence he isbut when Christ comethno man knoweth whence he is.

Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taughtsayingYe bothknow meand ye know whence I amand I am not come of myself but he that sent me is truewhom ye know not.

But I know himfor I am from himand he hath sent me.

Then they sought to take himbut no man laid hands on him because his hour was not yet come.

And many of the people believed on himand saidWhen Christcomethwill he do more miracles than these which this manhath done

The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such thingsconcerning himand the Pharisees and the chief priests sentofficers to take him.

Then said Jesus unto themYet a little while am I with youand then I go unto him that sent me.

Ye shall seek meand shall not find meand where I amthither ye cannot come.

Then said the Jews among themselvesWhither will he gothatwe shall not find himwill he go unto the dispersed among theGentilesand teach the Gentiles

What manner of saying is this that he saidYe shall seek me and shall not find meand where I amthither ye cannot come

In the last daythat great day of the feastJesus stood andcriedsayingIf any man thirstlet him come unto meanddrink.

He that believeth on meas the scripture hath saidout ofhis belly shall flow rivers of living water.

But this spake he of the Spiritwhich they that believe onhim should receivefor the Holy Ghost was not yet given because that Jesus was not yet glorified.

Many of the people thereforewhen they heard this sayingsaidOf a truth this is the Prophet.

Others saidThis is the Christ. But some saidShall Christcome out of Galilee

Hath not the scripture saidThat Christ cometh of the seed ofDavidand out of the town of Bethlehemwhere David was

So there was a division among the people because of him.

And some of them would have taken himbut no man laid handson him.

Then came the officers to the chief priests and Phariseesandthey said unto themWhy have ye not brought him

The officers answeredNever man spake like this man.

Then answered them the PhariseesAre ye also deceived

Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him

But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.

Nicodemus saith unto them he that came to Jesus by nightbeing one of them

Doth our law judge any manbefore it hear himand know whathe doeth

They answered and said unto himArt thou also of GalileeSearchand lookfor out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.

And every man went unto his own house.
