John Chapter 20
1 The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene earlywhen itwas yet darkunto the sepulchreand seeth the stone takenaway from the sepulchre.
2 Then she runnethand cometh to Simon Peterand to the otherdisciplewhom Jesus lovedand saith unto themThey havetaken away the LORD out of the sepulchreand we know notwhere they have laid him.
3 Peter therefore went forthand that other discipleand cameto the sepulchre.
4 So they ran both togetherand the other disciple did outrunPeterand came first to the sepulchre.
5 And he stooping downand looking insaw the linen clotheslyingyet went he not in.
6 Then cometh Simon Peter following himand went into thesepulchreand seeth the linen clothes lie
7 And the napkinthat was about his headnot lying with thelinen clothesbut wrapped together in a place by itself.
8 Then went in also that other disciplewhich came first to thesepulchreand he sawand believed.
9 For as yet they knew not the scripturethat he must riseagain from the dead.
10 Then the disciples went away again unto their own home.
11 But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weepingand as sheweptshe stooped downand looked into the sepulchre
12 And seeth two angels in white sittingthe one at the headand the other at the feetwhere the body of Jesus had lain.
13 And they say unto herWomanwhy weepest thouShe saith untothemBecause they have taken away my LORDand I know notwhere they have laid him.
14 And when she had thus saidshe turned herself backand sawJesus standingand knew not that it was Jesus.
15 Jesus saith unto herWomanwhy weepest thouwhom seekestthouShesupposing him to be the gardenersaith unto him Sirif thou have borne him hencetell me where thou hastlaid himand I will take him away.
16 Jesus saith unto herMary. She turned herselfand saith untohimRabboniwhich is to sayMaster.
17 Jesus saith unto herTouch me notfor I am not yet ascendedto my Fatherbut go to my brethrenand say unto themIascend unto my Fatherand your Fatherand to my Godandyour God.
18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seenthe LORDand that he had spoken these things unto her.
19 Then the same day at eveningbeing the first day of the week when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembledfor fear of the Jewscame Jesus and stood in the midstandsaith unto themPeace be unto you.
20 And when he had so saidhe shewed unto them his hands and hisside. Then were the disciples gladwhen they saw the LORD.
21 Then said Jesus to them againPeace be unto youas my Fatherhath sent meeven so send I you.
22 And when he had said thishe breathed on themand saith untothemReceive ye the Holy Ghost
23 Whose soever sins ye remitthey are remitted unto themandwhose soever sins ye retainthey are retained.
24 But Thomasone of the twelvecalled Didymuswas not withthem when Jesus came.
25 The other disciples therefore said unto himWe have seen theLORD. But he said unto themExcept I shall see in his handsthe print of the nailsand put my finger into the print ofthe nailsand thrust my hand into his sideI will notbelieve.
26 And after eight days again his disciples were withinandThomas with themthen came Jesusthe doors being shutandstood in the midstand saidPeace be unto you.
27 Then saith he to ThomasReach hither thy fingerand beholdmy handsand reach hither thy handand thrust it into mysideand be not faithlessbut believing.
28 And Thomas answered and said unto himMy LORD and my God.
29 Jesus saith unto himThomasbecause thou hast seen methouhast believedblessed are they that have not seenand yethave believed.
30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of hisdiscipleswhich are not written in this book
31 But these are writtenthat ye might believe that Jesus is theChristthe Son of Godand that believing ye might have lifethrough his name.
