Until the day in which he was taken upafter that he throughthe Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whomhe had chosen
To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by manyinfallible proofsbeing seen of them forty daysand speakingof the things pertaining to the kingdom of God
Andbeing assembled together with themcommanded them thatthey should not depart from Jerusalembut wait for thepromise of the Fatherwhichsaith heye have heard of me.
For John truly baptized with waterbut ye shall be baptizedwith the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
When they therefore were come togetherthey asked of him sayingLordwilt thou at this time restore again the kingdomto Israel
And he said unto themIt is not for you to know the times orthe seasonswhich the Father hath put in his own power.
But ye shall receive powerafter that the Holy Ghost is comeupon youand ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in all Judaeaand in Samariaand unto the uttermost partof the earth.
And when he had spoken these thingswhile they beheldhe wastaken upand a cloud received him out of their sight.
And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went upbeholdtwo men stood by them in white apparel
Which also saidYe men of Galileewhy stand ye gazing upinto heaventhis same Jesuswhich is taken up from you intoheavenshall so come in like manner as ye have seen him gointo heaven.
Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount calledOlivetwhich is from Jerusalem a sabbath day s journey.
And when they were come inthey went up into an upper room where abode both Peterand Jamesand Johnand Andrew Philipand ThomasBartholomewand MatthewJames the son ofAlphaeusand Simon Zelotesand Judas the brother of James.

Men and brethrenthis scripture must needs have beenfulfilledwhich the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spakebefore concerning Judaswhich was guide to them that tookJesus.
For he was numbered with usand had obtained part of thisministry.
Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquityand falling headlonghe burst asunder in the midstand allhis bowels gushed out.
And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusaleminsomuchas that field is called in their proper tongueAceldamathatis to sayThe field of blood.
For it is written in the book of PsalmsLet his habitation bedesolateand let no man dwell thereinand his bishoprick letanother take.
Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all thetime that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us
Beginning from the baptism of Johnunto that same day that hewas taken up from usmust one be ordained to be a witnesswith us of his resurrection.
And they appointed twoJoseph called Barsabaswho wassurnamed Justusand Matthias.
And they prayedand saidThouLordwhich knowest thehearts of all menshew whether of these two thou hast chosen
That he may take part of this ministry and apostleshipfromwhich Judas by transgression fellthat he might go to his ownplace.
