Chapter 1 “Party”

"Places, places everyone" my teacher says. *SNAP* "Ok get back to work" The lights turn dim as everyone keeps getting ready for the Valentines dance. It was 7:00 pm and the dance started at 7:30. I go to the back of the room turning the music and disco lights on. I observe the view of the pink balloons standing on the ceiling. Then my attention towards to the tables, on top of the tables or a red cover, on top of the covers for a couple of balloons tied down to weight. I noticed that that all of the tables were covered with balloons so I put some more on. Shortly after I hear my name, “Shea!” I turned around finding where the voice was coming from then I see Zack point at two garbage bags on the floor, I gave him a thumbs up then took the trash outside. It was fairly warm as a wall of air hit me. I throw the trash into the trash bin then I turn around to go back inside. “You come out here often?” a voice said. As far as I was concerned he could be a rapist, all I knew about him for sure that he was a guy. Then, reassuring myself, I thought I might’ve knew him if he would step into the light. Then he did. I didn’t know him at all. He had a suit and tie on, jet black hair, and a rose in his hand. “For you m’lady.” He said. I examined the flower and immediately noticed that it was plastic. He got the flower from the front of the building, to greet the guests with the come for the dance. “Ah....... and that’s supposed to impress me?” I asked. His flirty smile became an Embarrassed frown. Then, ever so slowly, he put the flower behind his back. “So where are you fro-“ he started to say. I knew his game. Everyone else stood out here in the open he would hit on them too. All he wants is a one night stand. “This,” I almost started out yelling. “ I see these flowers every single day, and if anyone else stood out here you would hit on them too and if this is your way of getting what your twisted mind words that you’re wrong. So why don’t you give us all a favor and leave.” I saw the color drain from his face. “I- I’m so so sorry, please, I wish to leave now.” Then, something hit me, something told me something, it said to let him in, not just in the building, but in my life. I grabbed his arm and made him face me. “No, I’m sorry, I got ticked off, and everyone in Erksine deserves a happy welcome.” Then something hit me harder then anything hit me before, it was my conscience, then I said 3 words that would change my life forever, “Wanna come in?”
