All about me

At the inception of writing this, I am 22 years old. I was born on the 6th of January, 1998 to my parents, who split ways shortly after my birth. I was the product of unprotected sex, a mistake that shouldn’t have occurred but blasted it’s way into existence nonetheless.

I was the first child, the first born male. There are very few things I remember about my early years. I lived with my mom and my great-grandmother in their cozy bungalow on the countryside.

My great-grandmothers love for me was undeniable. She was my protector and I was her little joy. I always ate from her round red bowl; the same food as her. I slept with her, always by her side.

My last recollection of her was when the ambulance came and she went with it. I couldn’t remember her being ill but apparently she was. She never did come back and it wasn’t until I was a bit older that I understood what death was.

What was scary for me, was that I often had nightmares of her after she died. She would appear in my sleep, sometimes pulling me by my feet to come with her. You may ask, if she and I were so close when she was alive, why was I scared? Well it’s not the most pleasant thing to be pulled by a dead relative through strange places while sleeping.

Eventually, the nightmares ended, well the ones in my sleep anyways.
