I looked at the gun confused and realised it was water.

“WHAT THE FUCK JAY?!” I screamed at him.

Jay laughed and sat back down. “For fuck sake, I can’t even harm a ladybug. Are you all really that thick?”

“Why didn’t you kill me?” Patrick panicked. “Jay?!”

“First of all, I knew you didn’t even have the guts to do it. And second of all, I wanted to test you to see if you really are sorry and would risk your life just for the both of them.”

“We won’t call the cops.” Jordan explained. “You’re an idiot but you realised what you were doing was wrong, right Sky?”

“I guess...Jay how did you--”

“I was watching Misfits-”

“Oh that episode when the curly haired guy was about to shoot the goody goody too shoes religious girl because she hypnotized everyone to believe in God and to not do drugs and etcetra.”

“Exactly. I knew Patrick didn’t have the guts.”

“So, shall we untie you?” Thomas asked already untying us. I exhaled but then I realised something. “Where’s Mason?”

“I left him a torch. He’s probably home by now or called the police.”

“What do we do?”

“Has he called you yet?”

I unlocked my phone and saw I had no missed calls. “Doesn’t make sense. He hasn’t called, only Gemma. Oh no.”

“Hi Gems, everything’s fine.”

“I thought you were in trouble?”

“I was just kidding. Were you even paying attention to what I was saying before?”

“Oh really, is Mason home then?”

“No, he’s with you. I tried calling him but he hasn’t answered so I’m asking Alex to drive to East London--”

“Don’t worry. We’re having fun with Jenny. She seemed down so we just started talking with her.”

“Which Jenny. The crazy one.”

“No, it’s another one. Now, I need to go.” I cut the call. “He’s not home yet.”

Everyone exhaled.

“What do we tell him?”

“It was all a prank?” Jordan said all of a sudden. “I’m sure he’ll believe it....I think...”

“He knows when I’m lying.”

“How about, you tell him, you didn’t realised until you found out it was a prank?” Thomas suggested.

“How about, we were all trying to scare him as Halloween is literally days away.”

“2 weeks away and 2 days, right?”

“Yeah something like that.” Jamie said scrolling down his phone.

“I’ll say I was just trying to scare him before he scares me as last Halloween he scared me two weeks before even Halloween started!”

“Okay. Let’s go now.” Jay said. They started walking out the door.

“My leg? Hello?” I said.

“What do you want me to do?” Jordan said annoyed.

“Come here.” I wrapped my arm around his neck as support and started to hop.

“You should’ve taken your crutches.”

“And let Mason die? Don’t think so.”

“Yeah well, we ended up almost dying not him.”

Then I paused. The forest was all wet and cold and it was raining.

The guys looked at me completely confused on what to do.

“Mason!” I started hopping towards him. “He’s going to die of hypothermia!”

“It’s not that cold.” Jamie said.

“Feel the ground.” I sat next to Mason. His skin was so cold but he was still breathing. “Give me your jacket. One of you!”

Jamie handed me his and I wrapped it around Mason. “Jay give me yours!”

“Erm no. This is--”

I pulled him down. “He’s going to fucking die!”

He took it off and gave it to me. I wrapped it around his head. We waited for a few minutes and soon enough he woke up.

“Mason?! You’re alive!” I hugged him tight.

“Where am I?” He pulled out. “Ouch. My shoulder.”

“You really don’t remember anything?”

He waited a few seconds and saw Jamie standing in front of him. “Jamie what are you doing here?!”

“They’ve come to help you.” I reassured.

“They?” Then he sat up and saw the rest of them.

“We haven’t come to--”

“You tried to kill me!” He got up. He was about to swing a punch at Thomas when Gemma appeared.

“What the fuck is going on?!” Gemma screamed.

“Well...I pranked Mason--”

“No you didn’t. These guys were--”

“I told them to as me and Jordan are friends--”

“A couple remember?” Jordan kicked me gently.

“Yes. A couple.”

“You’re dating Noah!” Mason and Gemma said at the same time. The whole forest went quiet. All we could hear is the planes passing by. "Heathrow planes. Cool right." I laughed nervously. I can see everyone’s eyes on the both of us. “I think I’m going to go home.”

“Why would you lie about that?” Gemma suddenly asked.

“Yeah Jordan. Why? Or are you really gay?” Jamie asked all of a sudden.

“I’m not gay.”

“Really? Why would you lie--”

“We are dating behind Noah’s back. We haven’t told anyone yet.” I lied.

“Yes and we are going to break up now aren’t we, Sky?” He kicked my leg.

“Yes, of course.” I cleared my throat. “We have nothing in common anymore and I’m with Noah. We are broken up. Officially.”

“Oh no, this is terrible. I’m so sad.” He lied. Everyone looked at us clearly knowing we’re lying.

“Jordan, Sky, worst actors of the year. What’s really going on?” Patrick walked up to him.

“Oh, I’ve just got a call. I need to--”

Patrick snatched the phone off him. “No missed calls. Spill it out.”

“Owww, my leg. I need immediate help. Jordan call Alex.” I lied.

“Yes, definitely.”

“It’s no big deal, get up.” Jamie said. “Tell us the truth. Are you lying?”

Jordan looked at me. I spoke, “Yes.”

Mason looked at me shocked. I could see the disappointment in his face. “I thought we shared everything.”

“Yeah well we don’t anymore, ever since you started hiding everything from me.” I snapped.

“How about these past four days?”

“That’s only four days, ever since you were fourteen you never once told me anything, you just shrug your shoulders and leave me standing like an idiot and when I don’t tell you something you start complaining--”

“That’s not my fault. If you don’t tell me why should I?”

“Stop blaming me for your problems. You think just because you started crying--”

“I haven’t cried--”

“Oh stop acting stupid. I heard you sob like a baby--”

“That’s because we were going to die! The elevator was falling--”

“Yeah, how about today? You couldn’t even stand in the elevator! It took you half an hour to stop crying!”

“I almost died! You saw how bad my cut was and I thought we were going to die! The doors didn’t open!” He looked around. “Let’s just drop it.”

“You complain about your cut when I actually got stabbed!”

“It’s not my fault--”

“I was trying to help you. You wouldn’t shut up!”

“I didn’t ask you to help me!”

“I still don’t care because I care about you--”

“You never leave me alone do you?! You keep putting me in trouble because of your stupid problems! I don’t care about your stupid cut!”

“Yeah, is that right?! Maybe you should’ve let me die!”

“But I didn’t because I still love you--”

“Yeah, you told me you hated me--”

“You know I was lying and it was a mistake--”

“Yeah, punching me twice was a mistake?!”

Then he fell silent. I could see everyone staring at him shocked.

“I know that was out of order.” He looked down. “And I said I was sorry.”

“I know you were.” I sighed. “I’m just looking out for you, the least you can do is at least tell me that you’re okay rather than hiding your feelings. What’s the worst that could happen?”

“This. You’ve humiliated me. When you snap, you spill it all out and that’s why I don’t trust you.”

“Well thanks for saying that, it’s not like you don’t do the same!”

“Okay, when have I ever spilled your secret out?”

I paused for a while. “That doesn’t matter! Let’s just go.” I hissed.

“Are you even dating him? Sky?”

“Yes.” I lied avoiding his eyes.

“Why are you lying to me?”

“I’m not.”

“Look me in the eye and tell me the truth.”

“It’s all a lie okay! We aren’t even friends! It’s all a fucking lie!! .....Mason?”

“Why would you lie about that?” He looked at me confused.

I looked at Jordan. Waiting for him to say something. But he said nothing.

“So you are gay then?” Patrick smirked. “You like boys?”

“No. Just because I don’t have a girlfriend, it doesn’t mean I’m gay.”

“Really? Prove it.” Thomas said all of a sudden.

“What?” He looked at him confused.

“If you’re straight, kiss her.” He pointed at me.

“Don’t even think about it. I am not going to lay my lips on someone who bullies me for my whole life.”

“How about Noah?” Jamie walked up to me. “He’s bullied you longer than Jordan.”

“He bullied me since year four!”

“And Noah, since nursery so...”

“Yeah well I’m with Noah and he’ll kill you. I’ll tell him. So you all better get lost!”

“All of you go away.” Mason said standing next to me. “Jordan is clearly straight.”

“And how would you know that? Oh, you’re gay too.” Jamie said all of a sudden. Everyone looked at Mason and Jordan.

“Are you fucking serious?!” I hissed at Jamie. “He’s the most straightest person alive so fuck you.”

“Yeah...don’t think so. Jordan kiss her or you are going to be known as gay.” Thomas said.

“I can’t. She’s with Noah--”

“Yeah and if Noah finds out you’re gay....”

“But I’m also betraying him--”

“Okay!” He turned to me.

Mason glared at him. “Don’t--”

“I’m sorry.” He kissed me on the lips and I pushed him away. And slapped him across the face. “You are all stupid imbeciles!”

Then Gemma gasped. “You both are like the best couple!” She took out her phone and was about to take a photo of us when Mason snatched the phone off her.

“Who’s side are you on?”

“No ones. I’m just spicing up the rumors.”

“Yeah, well this stays here.” Patrick said walking up to her. “Keep your mouth shut Gemma.”

“You did not just say what you just said. Because what you just said will be the most regretful thing you’ll ever say.”

Patrick rolled his eyes. “Typical.”

“Sky let’s go home.” Mason said pulling my arm.

“Mason slow down. I’ve got a broken ankle!”

“I’m not in the mood to argue. Where are your crutches?”

“Well, you stormed off and I was going to get them but Alex will see and try and stop me.”

“You didn’t have to come.”

“Excuse me, you would’ve been killed if it wasn’t for me.”

“I can fight my own battles.”

“Yeah, you almost died of hypothermia--”

“I’m sure I would’ve woken up.”

“You are being silly. You wouldn’t be able to survive a goddamn--”

“Stop it. Let’s just go--”

“You don’t even say sorry!”

“You’re being annoying.”

I let go off his hand. “I saved you.”

“Of course you did.”

“Mason, shut up. You’re being so ungrateful!”

“Don’t fucking tell me to shut up.” He shouted.

“And you don’t dare shout at me!”

"You are so irritating!!!" Mason glared at me and pushed me on the floor. “I am tired of you. You're annoying! I’ve had enough. Mum’s right. Maybe we both need to grow up--”

“We’re over.” He stormed off.

“Mason!” I tried hopping after him.

“Don’t ever call me. I don’t want to see you ever again!” He shouted pushing me on the floor again.

Jordan walked over to me. “He doesn’t mean that--”

“He does. Jordan he does. I know he does. I need to speak to him. I need to--”

“He’ll come around--”

“Jordan you don’t know Mason, he’s serious. I promise you he is!” I tried to get out of his grasp.

“Well I’m sure he’ll miss you in no time--”

“Jordan I need to go after him. Something might happen to him.”

“He’ll be fine.” He tried to pull me back.

“This weather’s bad. Mason’s going to be cold and wet please let me go and speak to him. Jordan please?”

“I...” He looked at the rest of them. “Guys go home. I'll catch you up later.”

“Mason?!” I hopped after him.

“If I were you, I’d stay back because I know, I’m going to knock you out cold.”

“Don’t speak to me.” Then he disappeared into the forest.

“Fuck’s sake.” I groaned. “I need to go after Mason so just go away!” I hissed hopping around. Then I saw him crossing the field. “Mason?!”

“I really don’t think he can hear you...”

I looked at the field and then at him. He was already going back. “Jordan?!”

“I can’t believe I’m saying this but can you help me get to the other side, it’s too far.”

“Where’s your wheelchair?”

“I’ve lost it somewhere here.”

He sighed. “Want a piggy back?”

I hopped onto his back and he walked all the way across the field until we saw someone. He started walking over to a bush and placed me down. “Shhhh.” He said pointing at....Jenny?

“I think I’m probably hallucinating that...Jenny?”

Then I saw it. Jenny. She’s was running around in circles like a lunatic.

Jordan and I hid behind the bush watching her, speechless.

“I’ve got a plan. But you need to make sure you do as I say. Put your phone safe inside your sock."

“I can track it from here. Now, you need to go and speak to her. I’m doing this just in case.”

“She’s not that crazy.”

“Yeah. Who runs around in circles at night?” Then we saw someone else. It was Leah from the hospital and Ruby.

“Sky you okay?”

“Look, it’s your cousin.”

“No...shit...” He closed his eyes. “What are they doing?”

Then Lea spoke. “I saw her before. She was with my cousin and his friends. Maybe we should wait next time--”

“I hear something.”

Then Jordan pushed me and I hopped over to them.
