In her journey, she will unravel deep secrets, true friendship and love. But also, what it will take to be who she was meant to be. Jarret Lattimer, the mysterious man known as a son of an famous Greek God and Ireland's infamous creature of the night. Jarret is Sage Burrow's protector, along with his grandfather, the towns ancient healer. He meets Kalista and hopes that his deep secrets will not scare her away. Will these two find love as Kalista defeats an ancient evil? Or will SageBurrow become ruins once more?

The Begining

Once on a cold windy night, with the sky covered in pitch black darkness as the moon shined bright with its heavenly glow. The realm of Sage Burrow had become a war zone. Red, Gray and silver are the new colors of what was once a peaceful, luscious forest. The secluded area had now become a stage for a gruesome battle that lied ahead.

Valanie, Unseelie rouge queen and mother natures evil twin, blends in with the shadows as she watched her own fiendish creations battle it out with the woodland elves. Everyone who knows or heard of her of course knows never to cross her tainted path. The last people who crossed her tainted path have lost the will to ever walk and to speak of what horrors they have seen from her. “My queen. How long will we be out here tonight?” Said General MacKay as he stood tall giving his own stern and hardened look.

Valanie glances over her shoulder at him. Her Auburn orange hair gliding swiftly during each movement she makes. The tightness of her black dress and laced corset had become a second layer of skin. “Until I get rid of something that is corrupting this world,” She began to piercingly gaze at him with her almost pale white eyes with a flickering flame of fury within her soul. “Then, we will claim SageBurrow and burn it all to the ground, once and for all!” She would stop at nothing until Sage Burrow and its citizens were dead or begging for their lives to be spared while their cities and homes all burned to the ground. Knowing full well that the good woman has her little eyes and ears everywhere. Good. Let them witness as their precious world crumbles to the ground, along with its people begging for mercy.

As the war rages on, some have succumbed to bloodlust and are carelessly charging any enemy without a care for their own safety. While others can only think of home, what they left behind and the secret they are protecting. The toll on both nature and humanity is devastating.

Arabella Ashburnum, The Queen of Tarlington kingdom and wife to the one and only King Caspian Ashburnum, stood motionless behind the tress as she watched the horrific bloodshed as the battle raged on. She closed her eyes as she began to say a silent prayer to the gods and goddesses above to be sure that her husband and the men that served them to make it out alright. Draped in an hooded cloak that was once a shawl held her little one closely keeping her bundled up in a warm yellow blanket. She kept her eyes covered so she did not witness the blood shed and covered her ears so she wouldn't hear the rage nor the agonizing screams of the battle.

“It’s alright my angel. You will be with more good people soon,” She glances down at the little infant, smiling adoringly. “Then one day you will become a beautiful grown woman. Never forget that mommy and daddy love you so much.”

Reaches near the outskirts of the woods, the smell of sulfur and the blood curdling screams echoed along the way as Arabella begins to make a run for it down the dirt pathway, leading to the fairy ring. The awful smells and sounds gradually start to fade away. Hoping that this last solution will work out perfectly and not back fire on them all.

The moment she reach’s a dead end, one would definitely  think all would be lost but not to her. It was a gateway of mushrooms. With a flick of her left wrist and both eyes closed, she teleports to the next destination. A Silhouette of an four bedroom cabin begins to fully appear out of nowhere with its elegant lights shinning from each and every window. Yes. She made it just in time. Arabella gently places her down inside the basket after she makes it magically appear, makes a very rare and magical necklace appear. Gently placing it down at her little ones left side, burying it as if to hide it away. Carefully Putting it down on the porch while giving the blanket her loving, gentle touch once more cherishing the blankets warmth and smell, one last time.

The moment she removes her cloak, her six inch angelic wings shaped like monarchy butterfly wings begin unfolding. Shades of blood red, black and a beautiful hint of orange. As they came into full view, the flames begin to crackle underneath the tips, making Arabella appear like a firefly. She immediately glides up to the landing quietly on the edge. Peeks down below watching, as her sister and brother in law take the baby inside their house as if they knew why.

Arabella begins to stand up turning around now focusing on the moon, with her wings spread out and the fire crackling even more now. The once black patch's, now a vibrant color of red moving rapidly like a beating heart. “Goodbye, Kalista.” As she whispered her final words to her beloved daughter, tears start to form as she flies into the air appearing like a tail on a comet, heading back home.

Dru83: This is the second or third time I've read this one and I just love it. It has just about everything you could ever want packed into one scifi story. It still has some parts that are a little rough in terms of grammar, punctuation, and word usage, but it's still an awesome story. I love how detai...

Grapes Are Juicy yes!!!: I give this novel FIVE STARS ! This novel is worth reading from the beginning to the end! The plot and conflicts in this story are very smartly integrated. The language facility is a little odd , but i guess this was done on purpose, given the novel's set era. Other than that, this should definit...

263Adder: Okay so I adore this story. I only knocked one star off plot for historical inaccuracies because I'm a bit of a stickler for that. The ending broke my heart though, considering you already changed history couldn't you (SPOILER) change it a bit more and have them together!!!! I want an alternative...

Lydia Walters: I really enjoyed this novel. It gives us a view of what could be if we really tried. Also that there's nothing wrong with loving our LORD and our fellow humans. couldn't wait to get to each new chapter (mission). Thanks, Joe!

spec4huff: Thank you for creating this world. I am a 6'3" veteran that thinks himself tough. But the piece of literature you have created made me misty eyed on a number of occasions. I want a love like this. Thank you again, I would totally buy this book and hopefully the sequels to this ever enchanting lov...

SandraHan1: This story is very descriptive, with vivid scenes from the very beginning, which made for a good scene setting. I love the symbolism in names, such as “Naysayers”, “Hadd”, etc . The story itself is revolutionary, intriguing, emotional and exciting. I was very pleased to see that there is a happy ...

Katy Rayne: i really enjoyed this book. i have to say i didn't know what to expect, but with every chapter that came something crucial to keep you reading happened. I was disappointed with the ending if this is for another book i will defiantly carry on reading the next book.

genlynne2379: I read the other review of this book and I must say that I disagree with it wholeheartedly. I do not believe the author put the apostrophes in the names just to be unique, but because the characters are supposedly of a different race than humans. They are Anmah. They should have different names a...

Atractivo Sumit: The story is an amazing blend of what we call natural, plain romance along with subtle emotions and interesting twists. The plot is so beautifully interwoven.

jessiehs: This was absolutely amazing. I loved how it went back and forth between perspectives. I actually cried at the end I was so happy. This was amazing. I can't even think of another word to describe it. Thank you for writing his.

ElusiveBadwolf: I loved this book so much! It's a shame that i already came to the end of this. I really enjoyed the story, and i liked it how everything became in the end. It was a great book and i can say that you are a great writer too. Keep it that way and i think you can make it in the writing business!

OpheliaJones: This story took a different kind of spin on the "normal girl lives with definitely not normal guy" plot. The plot points of Frey's father, Liam's family, and Frey's view of Liam's world were good to read. She did not fall in love with him in the first couple weeks. Their lives were not smooth in ...

Stephen Warner: To start off, I am thoroughly impressed. The writing style is somewhat unique, and the plot seemed to move at a nice and steady pace. However, I was not expecting this to be a vampire book! I am usually not one for novels about vampires, but I was pleasantly surprised! You wrote with such grace a...

Jason Phang: More, I want MORE! Your stories are keeping me from games and (gasp) even sleep! Each chapter brought fresh hooks that I willingly wolfed down (pun intended) and I just couldn't bear going to sleep not knowing what happens next to Lindsay and Wayne. I also loved how the epilogue was done. Excelle...
