Blurb

Sasha has the life of any thirteen year old girl. Friends, sleepovers, school, but when she mysteriously turns into a horse, she has to run away from home. What will she find out in the wilds of South Dakota? And will she ever be able to continue her life as a human?

Chapter 1

I wake up to my alarm and see my cat Callie sitting on my face. I pick her up and place her to the side and then look at the clock. It says 6:30. I get out of bed and go downstairs to the kitchen to put a bagel in the toaster and go back upstairs to get dressed.

When I get my clothes on I go back downstairs, butter my bagel and eat it before quickly curling my hair. I pause a second to look in the mirror. My friends all say I’m really pretty and that they love my hair that is so dark brown it looks black. They also love my dark skin. But too many people ask me if I’m Native American.

I turn away from the mirror and brush my teeth before grabbing my backpack and running to the driveway to wait for the bus. When it arrives I climb in and sit next to my best friend, Ashley.

“Hey Ash, what’s up?” She’s looking down at her phone, but when she sees me she looks up and flips her long blonde hair out of her face. “Nothing really. You?”

“Today I’m picking out my horse.”

Immediately there is a complete attitude change. We have known for over a month that I am getting a horse for my birthday and we have been so excited. “You’re taking me with you to help, right?”

“We planned on it.”

“Can’t wait,” she says.

Soon a conversation starts about what color I should get and the time passes quickly.

Finally we get to school and in a big group of middle schoolers we all head toward the building. Thankfully Ashley and I have the first class together. We walk down the hallway toward the class, continuing our conversation and go into the classroom to sit in our seats. This is going to be a long day of school.

CookieMonster911: The story overall was an adventure that is appealing to any age. The way the characters develop adds a more human characteristic to the novel. The writing style itself is amazing because you can learn every character's thoughts and emotions. The awkward love triangle and jerk moments adds to the ...

Elizabeth Robbins: 4.5 starsAs far as apocalypse stories go, this one took a new direction. I'm glad someone finally addressed the need for a vampire apocalypse! This is sort of a multi-genre festival of delights. With hints of forced societies, vamps, hunters, romance, apocalypse, government conspiracy, and thrill...

John Reed: Seadrias masterfully captures the impressiveness and complex scope that a science fiction novel should provide while carefully crafting an entire universe that will leave a reader in awe from start to finish. The only flaw I could find is that I wish I could have read more. This book is certainly...

summerstone: Seriously this is one of the best books I've ever read. The plot is intriguing, I love the narrative style. Its very descriptive and unique, with minimal cliches. It makes for a great read and the sequels are amazing. Totally worth reading. ^^ That's me trying to be professional. But in all hones...

Usagi Kita: This story is emotional from beginning to end. You get to watch the characters struggle and grow, maturing in different ways so that they come to be the people they are meant to be. Inea is insanely adorable, and his antics made me laugh more than once, and Kaedon is perfect for him in so many wa...

_JosephJacobson_: I don't understand why this has such low ratings. I really enjoyed it!I think that the whole idea behind the plot had something very special and that was something that I really enjoyed. It was new, unique. I think that some of the writing was a little strange in places but overall it made sense ...

Maria Appkova: I enjoyed the plot and the idea. and the need to change her awesome idea to save others people in city. and romance in the story involved. just romantic btw her and henri. Good work.

Deleted User: This is a very clever story in the style of 19th century (and turn of the century) Gothic writing, very reminiscent of Stevenson's The Body Snatchers or even of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (less so of Frankenstein itself, since the author is more minimalist than Shelley's florid, Romantic rhetoric). ...

MegaRogueLegend666: I love this story so much. It's impossible to describe my excitement with each new chapter in words. The author has such a good writing style, very good descriptions of the fighting and character descriptions/emotions. the plot is also amazing! This fanfic could be a side anime show or novel ......

Alex Rushmer: This was not what I expected, but I enjoyed it a lot Malfoy was always one of the characters that I liked a lot, so I like that a lot of this happens between him and Colette. dd1226: I love reading about other countries and I think this story about Cambodia after Polpot creates awareness of the tragedy that happened there and the actions of the U.N. to hold elections.
