Rip Gone Wrong

Thriller / Adventure

Adam thought he was going for an easy snowmobile ride to Quebec and back again, but looking back from his hospital bed, the only thing easy to see were the mistakes he'd made along the way. Told by a social worker to record everything that happened to him in the frozen bush of Northeastern Ontario, Adam faces the consequences of each choice he made to stay alive and get home again. But is he telling the truth?

You said . . .

You said I should record what happened in detail. I already told you the gist of it, but now I’ve got a choice between a pad of paper and a pen, or a computer, and it’s like a whole high school of English assignments rolled into one. I better get some kind of class credit for this. Maybe I should talk and you write this down for me?

Worst day of my life. You think you’ve ever had a bad day? Let me tell you, it’s nothing compared to mine. I mean, I guess I was lucky in some ways. I did survive it, after all.

My name is Adam, and this is my story. I’m going to start it in the middle of a rip, because that’s where stuff started happening and the rest of it’s pretty boring.

And if you don’t know what a rip is, then maybe you’d better read something else. I’ve been told I have to explain it. Okay: a rip is a ride on a snowmobile. Got it?

Alex Reltin: This is a great story! I love how well you go into detail and emotions of Capri, and Mel. You have amazing dialogue and overall it's just a thrill to read! The only critique I could find is that some of the paragraphs should be separated. For example:-"If Nia would have just let me take the car an...

dd1226: I love reading about other countries and I think this story about Cambodia after Polpot creates awareness of the tragedy that happened there and the actions of the U.N. to hold elections. Barbara Ponder: This book is aimed at teenagers, however the style and content caught my attention and it is a long time since I was a teenager. Intriguing and enlightening novel I hope there will be a sequel soon.

marycombs14: This is a very interesting book - mostly because the heroine is quite charming and well rounded, and has very real issues to manage in her life. Most of all,. I loved the view inside of the life of a South Asian girl/woman, the emotional self-talk, the customs and preferences, the expectations a...

Sammi Chan: THIS WAS AMAZING!!! My favorite part of this story was the slow build of Merlin and Arthur's relationship. Their relationship was rlly nicely fleshed out and so good :) The way that you handled the magic reveal was super enjoyable. I rlly liked the switching POVs. Good!Mordred was cute and I'm rl...

Hawkebat: Playing both Kotor I & II and Swtor I found the story line interesting and it held me until chapter 35 Very good story and plot flow until then, very few technical errors. I felt that the main character was a bit under and over powered, as it fought for balance. The last few chapters felt too f...

Sara Joy Bailey: The characters are well written, full of depth and life. The plot was thrilling. The author's style flows naturally and the reader can easily slip into the pages of the story. Very well done.
