Mother's Journey in Time

...How long have I been here. All of this time spent on something that's supposed to be quick. It's been hours, no, days. Minutes stretched into hours, stretched into days. When will this end. My body's limp, weak. I can't remember the taste of food... the feel of water gliding down my throat. Did I have a family? I can't remember. I hear someone calling me "Mother!" running towards me but I'm not sure if that's just a figment of my imagination. Days bled into months, years, millennia. I was stuck. I couldn't leave. What was my favorite food again? Why is this taking so long... If I could change one thing about my past and alter a decision it would be- "Done!" the stylist yelled. I snapped out of my trance. "Oh~ I like it!" I said, admiring my beauty. What was I thinking about again? My daughter ran into the room, "Mommy!" she yelled admiring my new look. What a pleasant trip to the hair stylist this was.
