I walked through the doors of my new high school. 12th grade and just transferred in the middle of the school year. I had to leave all my friends behind and my boyfriend of 4 years back in Seattle, Washington. I am now in Miami, Florida.. Yep all the way across the continent.. My dad made me move cause of the job he took. He works as a manger for something, I really don’t care to be honest.
I wanted to stay back cause i could rent a house but nope I wasn’t allowed! My mum, i don’t know where she is. She just got up and left us one day. The motive is still unknown. As I walked through the doors i noticed the windows that showed the beautiful ocean. There were surfers on the ocean already. There was no one in the halls cause they were all in class or went in the building cause they didn’t have classes the period.
I already had my schedule on top it said Blue Wildheart. By the time i got done wondering the school getting use to the halls it was already time for my first class I have here. Miami is defiantly going to be different the Seattle. For one is way hotter and sunnier! I still miss Seattle though. With my classes I have only 3 classes. English, welding, and wood shop. I failed English in 11th grade that’s why i have to take it.. In fact that’s my next class...
Ugh i just want to get it over with... I walked up the crowded stairs and got into the English class room just in time for the bell. The only empty seat was next to this guy in the back of the classroom next to the window. I looked out the window and noticed the same view as in the hall. The ocean, surfers, family’s, couples, sand, grass, etc. Then I looked at the kid next to me, he had a mysterious vibe coming off him. You know how you can just sense certain stuff about people or their vibe?
Well I definitely picked something up off him. From the side view i could see he had dark brown hair that had a beanie on top of it, he had tan skin and was muscular. Not to muscular though, you know the guys that look jacked? Ya not that he had just enough from him to be able to lift a desk. He was wearing a Hollister tank top (thick strap) with cargo shorts. When I snapped out of my thoughts I saw that the teacher walked in. His name is Mr. Knight, he looked like he was in his mid 30′s.
He had kinda grey hair with black as his natural, he was wearing a nice outfit of course. When he spoke he had a accent like a British one. “Good Afternoon class I hope you guy did your homework from last night. It was to finish reading the last chapter of To Kill A Mocking Bird by Harper Lee.
Then you were to write a page about what the books lesson was. You guys can turn in the page at the end of class as you head out the door.” He walked in front of his desk and leaned against it with his head down.He lifted up his head and looked straight at the guy next to me, you know the mysterious one..
“I hope you decided to do you homework this time Mr.Call.” The kid next to me looked up and smirked showing his perfectly white teeth. “What do you think Bryan? I haven’t done it the last 11 years what made you think i would change now?” The teacher shook his head and sighed, “I guess I have to try and get a hold of your mom again. Maybe this time I should try your dad.” “My mom wont answer she doesn’t care. My dad? Your funny.” He sat up and crossed his arms.
His eyes held so much hatred behind the color green. By now the entire class of 15 kids was looking back and forth between the two. I looked down at my Leather notebook and opened it up then started doodling.
The entire class period they were going back and forth by the time it was 5 minutes till bell the kid walked out. I looked up at the empty seat then at the teacher. Mr.Knight shook his head and sat down in his chair typing on his computer.
5 minutes later the bell rang and everyone walked out. I was last behind and as I reached the door i heard the British voice behind me.
“Im sorry your Mrs.Wildheart right? The new student from Washington?” I turned around towards the teacher, “Yes I am Blue Wildheart.” He stood up collecting the papers the students turned in. “Sorry about earlier, Mr.Call is a... lets say handful at times.” He put the papers in his briefcase and closed it. “Im sorry do you have a class next period?” He looked at me concerned.
“No i don’t! My net class is 5th period and this is 3rd right?” I asked looking at my schedule. “Indeed it is Miss.Wildheart.” He smiled looking at my schedule. “Please just call me Blue. Miss.Wildheart is just to formal for me.” I laughed which he followed along after. “Ok Blue. Unique name you have there. You can relax in here this period if you want, next period I teach a Freshman class so you probally don’t want to be here.” Shaking his head laughing he started writing on the board; Romeo and Juliet: A tragic love story.
“You know so my Freshman are reading Romeo and Juliet but they don’t understand any part of it. Its basic, feuding family’s kids fall in love when the shouldn’t have. Struggles come along and then they lose the ones they love cause of they’re foolishness. Then they get along, really is it that hard?” He explained writing on the board some more lessons. I listened the whole period as he went on about his classes and Mr. Call.
I found out his real name is Levi. Levi Call... “What class do you have 5th?” Looking at my schedule he nodded his head. “That is in the second building where art is and gym.” This school has three buildings; 1st for academics, 2nd for electives, then the last for lunch. “Thanks! I can tell that I will have a good time here thanks!” I smiled getting up as the bell rang and little kids came in staring at me.
I moved through the crowded hall and out the back doors. As I stepped out the doors feeling the 98°F weather and bright sun hit my face. I put on my sunglasses and felt the wind blow in me blowing my black long hair back. I looked around before I took my next step into the sand. I looked the right and saw Levi and all his friends screwing off smoking. They were also passing around a bottle of Vodka.
I shook my head and started walking as I heard that familiar voice from my English class yell, “Aye new girl!” Then I suddenly froze right in my steps and turned around facing the direction I was being called too. Levi made his way to me with his group of friends or gang following or should I say stumbling behind. “
You the girl from my English right? The one that was doodling when i was arguing with Brian? Man that guy should keep his nose in his own business.” He looked at me up and down.
“Mr. Knight is just trying to do his job.” I spoke in a stern voice. Mr. Knight is a really nice teacher I wont let him speak bad about him. “Well he can do his job and leave the thought off me out of his mind.” He glared at me. “You don’t know him like I do.” He finished speaking. What does that mean... Don’t know him like i know him...
“Hello?!” He swiped his hand in front of my face. “Were you even listening to me? What classes do you have next?!” He grabbed the schedule out of my hands. “Welding??? Wood shop???” Looking at me questioning it I just rolled my eyes. “Ya, have a problem with that?!” I grabbed it back with force. His friends just gasped as my actions and one that looked like he was 17 mumbled, “No one treats him like that.”
I looked over at him and laughed evilly, “Well guess what I just did.” I walked away as he yelled, “Your going to regret that!” “No you cant cause you cant do anything to me!” I kept walking ignoring his threats not letting them bother me. He’s just a wanna be boy that thinks he’s bigger than everyone else. I reached the beach and suddenly got a text from Savannah. Sav is my best friend back home well my number one best friend is Marina but only because I known her longer and I know for sure she would do nothing to betray me.
It explained that she wanted to let me know that Jackson and Marina were caught making out and she thought that she should tell me. Then to call her later. I responded thanks and to tell them I want nothing to do with them. I sent the text and my heart broke..
I powered off my phone and sat under a tree where there was shade. After 4 year he cheats on me.. Has he done it before? With her? Others? Marina’s been my friend for so long... How dare she?! I was so lost in thought that I didn’t know that the bell rung I got up and headed to the second building for Welding. I walked through the narrow hallways and as I reached the door I looked in and I what I saw shocked me. Mr.Levi Call was in the same class as me..
zoheusher20: What more can I say? The writing style and little details drew me into the book and for the entirety of the story I was Juliet. Diana Chernenko: I liked this book. Even if the idea of book isn't so new. "girl that should save the world with her super powers." sometimes I thought that she is too overpowered, and I was sometimes really annoyed by her, and felt sorry for her friends and Derek. Moreover I didn't like first chapters when the...

ArgyrisMetaxas: Thrilling story which builds layer ontop of layer. A few mis spellings every few chapters. What I found special was that it took a modern day problem and took it to its logical conclusion and plays this realism with gritting precision.
