The Balcony

I was on the balcony. Watching. Waiting. The sky flashed once. The sky darkened, but soon after another flash commenced. Lighting up the blackness. And again, once, twice, three times, four times in a row. The clouds clustered together looking pale and gray. The bolt of lightning striking through them all. I heard other noises. People talking. TVs running political programs. But there I was. Ignoring it all. Watching the lightning. I looked further. I saw stars. I saw other lights. Those belonged to boats. And still in my field of vision, a strike of light tore through it all. I looked below me. The height undisorinenting and somewhat comforting. I saw the trees and the sand. I only heard the waves as I saw a vicious darkness devouring the sand. The beam of light pulled me away. Out of my stupor. The beams of hope in the darkness had slowed down. I waited for one last flash. A faint one that didn’t quite fulfill my request was seen. I left, my gentle wings carrying me into the darkness.

Farther and farther.
Into the sea.

mray2174: I did like this story. I would totally recommend it to a friend, but it didn't seem like a book. Your writing style reminded me of a fan fiction writer, always adding in tiny details and making things like "Oh, my name is [name that no one would ever name a child] and here is my life story. Oh, d...

Ginger: I like the idea behind this; the idea and story itself are great, However, I'm finding typos periodically and some of the sentences could be worded a bit more clearly. You might want to 'show' a little more than you 'tell,'

Cliuin: A great fantasy story what follows a young half-race on his joourney.

Dr.Strangelove: not the ending I expected.

SeanSavage: Good plot that moves fairly quickly. Time passage somewhat vague. but not indecipherable. Very good syntax, grammar and punctuation. The story flowed very well, however, the breaks between chapters and the time jumps tended to be slightly confusing at first. I could see where the author was going...

Deleted User: I can easily identify with the characters as having gone through those terrible times myself. The writer has skillfully brought yet another side of those days to life. A good read which I recommend to everyone.

Jay: Love the book and only read the first chapter. I'm hooked.

William Elliott Kern: A young boy," later found on the highway by General Jarda", was murdered by Barbarians, came back to life as he was an Anmah, age 6 when the loss of his family had occured.........General Jarda, took the boy, gave him a new name, and introduced him to another Anham and the King, This Story is w...

larry: I’ m not a professional book reviewer, but this is a good one! I liked it enough to read it non stop!

NRF: This was a very interesting story line, although the author did not go far enough in explaining the war and why some received special powers and some didn't. I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more of this author's writing.

nehmeyasmin: It was the most heart warming but heart breaking story ever and I want the next part right away. It kept me hooked until the end even though there were a couple mistakes it was truly amazing. I think this book could go far if it wanted to

bloodrosemaiden: I love this book!! I have read it several times and though there could be improvements I applaud the author. I know positive feed back is appreciated!! I enjoy reading about the learning the different character's backstories, and the affects in the overall story!

Steven Tesoro: The Symphony Of Life, as I read this I myself are homeless, not much of an income an occasionally, it crosses mostly everyones mind about doing the dirty. But it is worth the time to read this story and as I'm reading it thinking about getting my life back to where it should be, it's hard in thi...

jennywren313: This is a throughly engaging and ripping yarn ...
