''The way we talk to our children becomes their inner voice''
I always hear your voices in my head, taunting and mocking me every second you get.
I am scared of those voices that only bring me pain but what can I do only to submit to its reign.
Normally every girls sixteenth birthday would be special and changing. It would be their first coming of age ceremony but Evelyn never got celebrate hers.
''Did you decide to take which stream for your high school?'' The man, her father asks with no ounce emotion laced in his voice.
''Yes..I did father'' it always feels foreign to Evelyn calling him that. They were more of a strangers then family.
''You may leave now'' he says finally showing his stoic face to the young teenager who too had a blank face.
It was a day after her birthday when she turned seventeen but her only family was not there to celebrate it again. Molly gave Evelyn an old video tap which her sister made just for her baby before the due date.
''Eve, you mom made this just for you ...but she told me to give it to you on your eighteenth birthday but I will give you this as an exception this year'' Molly said before handing her a beautiful gift wrapped package.
Eve leaves the office room dejected, walking to her room again she comes across a room which is always locked up. She remembers the time when she first tried opening the door and the first time her father ever showed her attention.
She was only six at the time, she was playing with her favourite bunny plushie in her arms running around the house with her tiny legs wobbling and then she came across same peculiar room, she tip toed reaching the door handle but flinches and falls down when she hears a voice screaming from across the hallway.
''What are you doing there!!!'' It was her father and he looked very angry.
''Evelyn never come here understood!'' He asked to the little frightened girl harshly making her shiver to the tone her father used.
'' 'm sowwy pa, thiz Dool lowked vewy intre....intrezing so Eve and mrs. Vinnie wabted to cee insidezz'' the girl said showing her teddy doll that her uncle Hans brought her.
''Don't ever come to this room '' The man says dragging the little girl's wrist who whines. Victor leaves the girl in her room leaving her with the maid Zoe who had her dull eyes casted on the crying little girl.
That was Evelyn's first memories of her father neglecting her and now she's Seventeen and yet she's being neglected.
There was not a day her peers not mocking her for her misery because neither of her parents ever cared for her atleast knew doesn't and the other was needed more in heaven then this cruel world.
