Blurb

Sirens and alarms echoing through the crevices of the hallway, it's hard to see and the air feels dirty, I feel like my body is going into cardiac arrest caused from the stress and the fear i am experiencing. My blood feels like it's producing way more than my body can handle, the feeling of being paralyzed as a cold tingle shivers up my spine and causes my neck hairs to stand. My eyes feel like they're closed but interrupted by a single light illuminating the front of the restroom, The stall feels cold, my body shivered as my legs are crossed on the toilet seat. The eerie sounds of silence stricken by sirens to my right and left, tears shedding my face like snakeskin. I hear the sound of footsteps encroaching my direction. This is the day it happened, this is what caused this. This, is our story…

---Main Story Chapter One---

(First Day Back To School Part One)

As a streak of sublime light pierces my eyes, I awake with a sense of comfort underneath my blanket. My eyes feel blurry, being the sunlight is disrupting my vision. I glanced over and squint at my phone. The time read six thirty eight, approximately twenty two minutes before my alarm is set to go off. The feeling of displeasement surrounds me as i know i must get up.

The first day back to school since the accident, I have a feeling many emotions will transpire throughout the entire day. Walking up to the entrance of the school i can’t help but feel like Elizabeth will be happy to see me. I need to make sure not to scare her off with random philosophies on life and death. I just need to be there for her, even if she does not want me to.

As I walk into the school i see posters for the upcoming dance. It never even crossed my mind after the accident that the winter dance is just a couple weeks away, and of course i have no one to go with, like normal. “Hey Thomas, i’m so glad to see you.” Interrupting my train of thought i turn around and see Elizabeth standing in front of her locker which ironically was beside mine. “Oh, hey Elizabeth, how are you, are you doing okay?” I stood there worried, wondering if she even could recollect what happened, and hoping i didn’t just destroy her day.

“I’m doing okay, I’ve had to stay at a friends house until I can stay at my dad’s, luckily i don’t remember what happened, i just know what the police told me.” Elizabeth with her beautiful blue eyes stood there in the spotlight as i just so badly wanted to tell her how i feel, the dress she’s wearing came from her mom, before the accident. “Your staying at a friends?” I said, “Are you talking about Grace?” Elizabeth gives me that gorgeous smirk, “Yes Thomas, It’s Grace.” She giggles as she grabs her math textbook. She slowly turns toward me, “Hey, Thomas, I was thinking…” I get startled as the first period bell rings. “Oh, i’ll talk to you later okay?” Elizabeth says as she rushes to Mrs. Mary’s class.

My first class is woods taught by, Tyler Danielle, or what we like to call him, Mr. Woods. He is one of the most work driven man i have ever met, other than my father. He inspires me to always give one hundred percent on everything, even sleep. “Okay class, today we will inspect and rate your birdhouses, first place gets something special!” I was so excited to present it to him, my partner and i worked day and night to make sure it was perfect. “Thomas, do you think we will get a good score?” My partner said. Kyle, my best friend and the person i always want to be working with, smart, talented, and he always has this way of looking at things, like, he always can see the best in others, even when there’s isn’t much to see.

As Kyle and myself approach Mr. Woods for the inspection i glance around and notice all the birdhouses. Immediately i get nervous, all of the houses look so much better than ours, perfectly painted, perfect structures, and perfect designs. I begin to feel the chilled sensation crawling up my spine like a snake slithering up my shirt. My stomach began to feel queasy, but i had to keep walking, even known my legs felt like jello. “Here it is.” Kyle said, just glancing i can tell he was as nervous as I was. We watch as he picks up the birdhouse, flipping, turning, and observing Mr. Woods remained silent as he went through his inspection, as he sets it down, he looks up at the two of us. “Okay, you may sit down now.” He says with a slight smirk on his face, Kyle and I turn around and find our seats and await in fear for how we are scored.

“Alright guys….Guys… SHUT UP!” The class goes silent, out of the silence i can barely hear giggling coming from my right. The class felt ruptured as Mr. Woods stares at the class with disapproval and intolerance. “Alright, as i was saying, I have inspected every one of your houses, and as you know, there is a special prize for the winner. The winner will receive a twenty dollar coupon to your favorite restaurant to go and have a free lunch, with myself being your chaperone.” The class started to applaud and celebrate. While I sat by and felt myself sinking into the chair. “Alright, and our lucky winner is….. Jason!” The class applaud and I felt my heart lower and my excitement fall into oblivion. After the announcement he handed out the scores for the individual person, Kyle got a 87%. So i was crushed and felt tormented as i glance and saw that mine, was a 57%.

When lunch came by, my mood had severely dropped. Class after class i kept getting reminded how much of a failure I am. Low scores, teachers not even acknowledging i even exist, and constant self indulging sensitive nerves for how the classmates see me. I sit and whisper “Just another day, just another day.” repeating in my head the day I met Elizabeth. Sitting away from her and secretly observing her, whist i feel the need not to eat i see Elizabeth sharing her food and enjoying herself.

“Why do you have to be such a fucking cunt!” My heart immediately dropped as i saw Jason and his friends staring desperately at Elizabeth. “I’m sorry Jason, what did I do?” Elizabeth said, her voice shattered and crumbling. “What the fuck do you think you did bitch?” Jason leans over and shows her his face, at a moment sight I could not understand what was transpiring. It was not until he turned to his friends that i noticed a bruise mark upon his cheek. I sat there, scared, shocked, and contemplating in my mind what was going to happen. “You know Elizabeth, your whore mother used to talk to me about this, now since she is gone i have nobody to talk to, I wish it was you, you insensitive fucking bitch!” My body feels frozen in time, I don’t even feel like i’m in my own body, my blood begins to boil, cracking under anger, my fist begins to clench, my head induced in flames, i stand up, unaware and uncaring of what happens next.

As i stand up i see them leave into the gymnasium, i stare at them for what it seemed eternity, daydreaming of what i can say, what i can do. Thoughts of unspeakable words and actions accumulate in my head, all at the same time feeling enraged that none of the teachers, staff, or adults witnessed this sardonic display of shellfish remorse. I quickly snap out of it and turn over to look at Elizabeth, it when then that I realized she was nowhere in sight.
