Summertime Of Our Lives

I walked onto the set of the television show I was going to be working on.  No I wasn’t an actress, being in front of the screen was never my thing.  I loved to be behind the scenes, so when I got the call that one spring day to work with the crew on this new television series, there was no way I could turn down that offer.

Now here I was, standing on the set of what I was hoping would be a hit series.  I admit I was scared and nervous, I didn’t know anyone here or where I was supposed to go.  Once I talked to my boss, I found out that I would be working along side one of the stars from the show.  I looked at the paperwork I was given as I walked down the block to find the trailer for this guy.

I didn’t know what it was, but looking at the name of who I would be working with seemed familiar.  Alright, his trailer is supposed to be at the end of this block, I said to myself as I checked the names on all the trailers.  Figures, his would be the last trailer I looked at.  I went to knock on the door and couldn’t believe my eyes.  There in front of me stood this handsome man, and I would be working with him.

“Umm…Erich?” I said, trying to hide my nervousness but was unsuccessful.

“Yes.  Can I help you?”

“Hi, I’m Christine.  I’m you’re assistant.”

Erich extended his hand out to mine, “It’s nice to meet you,” he smiled.  “Come on in.”

Was this really happening?  Not only did I land a dream job, but I also I was working with this attractive guy.  I shook my head.  No, I needed to keep my mind on my job, not get interested in this guy.

“Everything alright?” Erich asked, breaking me away from my train of thought.

“Yea!  I mean yes, everything’s fine,” I smiled.  “So, umm…is there anything you need?  Want me to get you anything?”

Erich laughed, “First day of work?”

“Is it that obvious?” I could feel my cheeks turn red.

“Don’t be nervous, I don’t bite,” he teased causing me to laugh.

“Well that is good to know,” I joked.  “But from what I understood, my boss told me I’ll mostly be helping with your clothes for the scene.”

“Guess that means we’ll be very close during this show,” he smiled.

Was he flirting with me?  This was going to be an interesting job.  “And I’ll be looking forward to getting closer to you,” I decided to flirt back.

Erich was right, we would be getting quite close during filming of this show.  Then one night it happened, something we both wanted but at the same time, knew it was wrong.  It’s never a good idea to get involved with someone you work with, that is a given.  We also didn’t expect either of us to fall for each other.

It was one of the longs days on the set, when taping didn’t end until around two or three in the morning.  I was with Erich in his trailer, putting away his clothes from earlier that day.  I had no idea he went to take a shower and was coming out just as I was about to leave.

“Chris!  I didn’t know you were still here.”

There he stood in front of me in just a towel and I couldn’t form the words I wanted to say.  “I..uh..I…yea just wanted to…put your stuff away.  I’m sorry, I should leave.”

“It’s alright, you don’t have to,” he said.  “In fact I think now is a perfect time to do what I’ve been wanting to since we met?”

I looked at him confused, “What do you…” he cut me off by pulling me close to him and kissing me passionately.

ernbelle: When I first started this story I was a little unsettled by all of the information that appears in the prologue, and wasn't sure if I would continue. However, I am very glad I did. The plot was very well thought out and really interesting. There were not any page breaks or markers to acknowledge ...

Alex Rushmer: This was not what I expected, but I enjoyed it a lot Malfoy was always one of the characters that I liked a lot, so I like that a lot of this happens between him and Colette. I read the first couple chapters, and I enjoyed your writing style and am excited to see where you take this story. My com...

Ashley Stryker: So I'm writing this review, keeping in mind that this is a work in progress and it's part of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), so my "deeper" critiques will be saved until it's all finished up.+ Chapter One: A stewardess would not talk to anyone quite like that, particularly a clear minor...

MavisMcQueen: "To Live Again" is a well crafted, highly engaging, heart vibrating tale surrounding our favorite Elven King. The author will keep you engrossed until the very end and by that time you will feel so strongly for Clara and the other characters that you will never want it to ever. Thrandu...

Alex Reltin: This is a great story! I love how well you go into detail and emotions of Capri, and Mel. You have amazing dialogue and overall it's just a thrill to read! The only critique I could find is that some of the paragraphs should be separated. For example:-"If Nia would have just let me take the car an...

LouiseJ2: I enjoyed the detail you went into with regards to the case. It made the UNSUB appear believable. The crisis in the middle of the story was my favorite part, very dramatic but not over the top. I feel like sometimes pairings can be overdone but I liked that some of the relationships were a little...

Jean Tryon: As a beta, I found this story outstanding!! Plot, grammar, phraseology, etc Rachel gives us it all. She takes the story into the future from where due South ends. She is an exacting and thoughtful author.

Jenn Deering: This is a go-to story for when you're needing a little happiness in your life. It's well-crafted, and characters are true to their show-selves. The pace is right, there are minimal grammatical errors, and the plot is fresh.

263Adder: Okay so I adore this story. I only knocked one star off plot for historical inaccuracies because I'm a bit of a stickler for that. The ending broke my heart though, considering you already changed history couldn't you (SPOILER) change it a bit more and have them together!!!! I want an alternative...

Alex Rushmer: Although I don't know the story of the Phantom of the Opera, I really enjoyed this story. The writing was very evocative, and it really put a picture of time and setting in my mind.
