Prologue

Two Nights Ago

“You fucking whore.” He yelled as he started to swing at me. I tired to block the punches. But he’s ten times stronger than I am.

“Please Caleb.” I cried as he continued to beat me.

“You want to flirt with other men. Nobody will ever want trash like you. I’m going to show you what happens to trash.” He said towering above me. I kept slipping in and out of consciousness, the urge to let go and be with my mom was coming so easy to me. I felt his hands on me, as he ripped my dress open.

“No Caleb. Stop please, I love you.” I tried to fight to stay awake, to fight him.

After he finished, it felt like a knife cut into me. Slowly slipping away, I felt someone pick me up and put me down on a bed. I see this light every now and again, I’m not entirely sure whether to go or not. But it feels so warm.

“Ma’am, can you hear me? Ma’am can you tell me your name?” A voice called from a far away.

“Mia.... Mia Rodgers.” I whispered faintly.

Pinkie : This is so much better than some sappy clickflick (or rather books are chicklit). This has some realism and real problems people face. Mafuyu Kafka: I'm totally biased about this book. It's one of the first I start reading on Inkitt. Love the sweetness and the clumsiness of the characters. Love seeing a shelter person getting sacked in the universe of someone who had to grow up early. The plot is great 😍.Enjoy it and it was hard to say goodbye
