I was laying on the bed, staring up at the ceiling on a lazy afternoon, it wasn't like I had other things to do, I couldn't wait to get out of this shithole.

The door banged open suddenly,

But I didn't turn around to see who it was.

"Ali, I need you to come with me." Micheal's chirped in panic.

I sat up to look at him,

"What are you talking about?" I asked,

That was when I heard loud gunshots coming from outside the window.

I immediately jolted in fear.

"What was that?" I asked pacing around the room in panic, then came another blasting sound causing me to scream,

That's when it hit me,

"This is all you, isn't it?" I gritted.

I had been meaning to tell Matt about what I heard, but I wanted to be sure I didn't hear wrong.

"We don't have time for this, Ali?" He said, lurking out the door,

"I heard you talking to someone about attacking this place last night." he walked to the windowpane and peeped through the windshield like he was inspecting something.

"I can get you out of here?" he uttered and I paused, suddenly the only thought was getting out.

"Yes, now hurry up we don't have much time," he said, still peeking through the window.

"Wait! why would I trust you." how can I trust a person who betrayed his best friend without blinking, not that it mattered to me, I just had to be extra sure I wasn't getting into another trap.

"We don't have much time, Ali. You just have to trust me."

I nodded,

"C'mon." he said while pulling out a gun from his back,

"Stay behind me." he didn't have to tell me twice, I moved behind and held to him as we creeped out of the door slowly.

The slicing sound of gunshots could be heard as we tiptoed along the battered hallway. "oh, my god!" I jumped up on hearing another striking explosion.

"Shhh.." Micheal whispered,"we have to take cover now Ali, c'mon." Micheal said pulling me into a room, I didn't even notice existed,"stay down and be quiet." he whispered.

"Please, don't leave me here all alone." I cried out to him, terrified.

"Don't worry you'd be safe here, and as soon as the coast is clear I would come get you." he paused,"take this," he said handing me a gun.

"I can't use a gun." I might probably shoot myself with it by mistake,"take it you need it more than I do."I pushed it back to him.

"I can take care of myself...just hold on to it." I nodded and took the gun from him,"please be safe." We might not have been the best of friends, but I wouldn't wish for anything bad to happen to him. He gave me a weak smile and creeped out the door.

I lay on the ground in shock as the room slowly became engulfed in flames. I stayed frozen on the floor muttering a bunch of words, I let out a painful scream as I heard the blasting explosive sound again, this time in a much louder force and I covered my ears, placing my head against my knees crying.

The door came crashing down suddenly, I raised my head wishing it was Micheal, but it was Matt in a pissed state,

"You're coming with me." he pulled me up forcefully and dragged me out of the door, I didn't even get the chance to pick up the gun Micheal had given me.

"Let me go." I struggled, but he just tightened the grip on my arm as he dragged me along with him,"let me go." I struggled, his grip on my arm was really tight, and the pain was excruciating.

He didn't say a word, neither did he lose his grip, he just kept on pulling me towards the entrance, whilst the heavy explosions kept sliding through the roof.

He stopped abruptly and placed a gun to my temple, "let's say hi to your boyfriend." he had a mischievous grin,

I had barely had time to recollect when the doors opened, exposing troop of men with ammunition.

I gasped.

This was it, I was going to die, before I even got to college, all the random thoughts of everything I haven't accomplished in my life just came flashing in my head like a slideshow.

"Put down your gun." one of the men yelled, "Your men are all down, there's no escaping this, Matt. Just surrender and let the girl go."

"Come any closer, and I shoot her." Matt threatened, so much for I would never hurt you, Ali. I just looked down and waited for the worse, there's no way we are getting out of this alive.

"Let her go, Matt." A husky voice chirped in. I have grown to that voice. I looked up instantly to see David, was my mind messing up with me again, is he really here? Am I imagining him?

"Tell your men to lay down their guns, or I shoot." Matt yelled,

If Matt could see him--

"David!" I cried out.

He smiled at me in relief,

"Everything is going to be okay?" He whispered.

I nodded, sobbing.

"How sweet." Matt laughed mockingly, "Now shut it, or I swear I will shoot you." he growled in my ear, and for the second time. I was able to see the other side of Matt.

To think I almost trusted him.

"Just let Alison go, no one as to get hurt." David said calmly.

"Not until you sign those company papers back to me.." he yelled to David, "Hertz we both knew this day would come, I'm finally here to claim what you all took away from me."

"You can't get out of this one, Matt. This whole building is surrounded, just let her go and you can at least get out of this alive."

"I want the property papers, give it to me."

"You know that's not possible, just stop this childish nonsense."

"You see Alison, he loves your assets more than you." Matt said in mocking. Matt didn't get the time to react when a loud shoot come from behind, and his body went crashing down to floor pulling me along with him,

I felt my head crash to the hard floor, and in an instant, my mind blurred.

David Hertz

I stood outside the operating room, Doctors would come and give me updates on her state, and every time I would hold my breath, scared of what they might say.

Bate has been by side the whole time, seeing I don't lose my temper at some point.

Suddenly, the Doctor appeared out of the operating room, his face passive. My heart commenced skipping fast as if wanting to blow out of my rib cages,

"She's going to be fine." I let out a breath of relief, "She just needs to rest."

"Can I see her?"

"Yes." he uttered making way for me to go in, when I entered the room. I trembled at the sight, she had cords attached to her, her skin a bit pale and her rising rhythmically,

She had a few bruises on her face, but somehow she still looked beautiful.

I walked towards her and took her hands into mine, "I'm sorry, princess, " I kissed her hand desperately,

The door opened and Bate walked in, "How's she?" he asked staring at her state,

"The doctor said she would be fine, she's resting, it must have been really traumatic for her." I hate seeing her this way, I wish it was me on the bed and not her.

"The most important thing is that she's home." this was not how I planned to rescue her, I thought I would have in my arms at this moment, talking about all those times we spent apart, and I will admire how strong she was to have survived this on her own.

"I know this is the wrong time to bring this up, but---" Bate pulled me out of my thoughts, "Matt escaped."

I snapped my eyes to him,

"WHAT!" I growled and shortly realized I might frighten Alison, "And, Micheal?" I lowered my voice..

"He's safe."

I nodded with a sigh,

"We will handle Matt later, just ensure the hospital has enough security, we can't take any more chances with him."

Bate nodded and walked out of the door, "You're safe now." I whispered as I gave her hand a tight squeeze..

After I was discharged from the hospital, David thought it would be a good idea if we stayed away for a while for a and I couldn't agree with him more, a lot has happened.

I wasn't ready to face anyone yet, it was just too much, we stayed at his beach house in Perth, it was really beautiful.

At that moment I was creepily watching him sleep, after the week we've had this moment meant everything, he seemed a lot calmer. Bate mentioned he wasn't able to sleep, or eat anything since the day I got abducted.

I smiled and ran my hands across his face as he moved slightly in his sleep.

He was a thrilling sight, but my heart still felt heavy,

I couldn't get the image of Matt getting shot and all that blood out of my head, we might not have been in a good place considering everything he did, but he did look after me, that must count of something.

Sighing, I shrugged the thoughts,

I needed a drink, all the thinking was making me thirsty, I slipped out of bed slowly, trying not to wake David.

I had his shirt on, I didn't get the chance to head home and pack some of my things, since we left the country from the hospital.

I stepped into the kitchen and opened the fridge, scavenging for a drink.

I reached for a bottle of frize and spurred out into the adjoining balcony,

I took a sip and stared out at the ocean, anything was better than being in my thoughts.

"Are you okay?" A voice chipped in behind.

I didn't panic, I knew it was David.

I had a feeling he would realize I was no longer by his side and come after me, he was worried a lot, afraid I might escape him again.

I turned to him and smiled,

"Sorry, I woke you."

He moved closer and pulled me to his chest,

"What's on your mind?" he whispered,

I sighed, saying.

"A lot has happened... I got abducted, Matt got shot, I almost died--"

"Matt escaped." he muttered, and my eyes widened.

"But...I saw him get shot."

"He got out, again." He answered.

"What do you mean again? As this happened before?"

He shook his head,

"Tell me, what happened?" he asked, we haven't had the chance to talk about being locked in that house. "Did he say anything to you?"

"No, oddly he did none of that, he actually took care of me--" I told him everything that went on in that house with Matt and Glenda, then Michael. I purposely left out the other thing Matt said about my father, I didn't want to upset him.

"I'm happy you're safe." He grasped my head in his hands and kissed my forehead.

I just huffed in relief, especially knowing Matt was still alive. I felt a lot better,

"Thank you, for saving me." I told him again.

"I should have gotten you out of there sooner," he replied.

I smiled warlmy, "It doesn't matter, what's important is that you came, I never doubted you would one bit." I said and kissed him.

He smiled against my lips and reached for my hand, "let's get you inside, it's freezing out here." He said as he took me inside the kitchen.

"Princess, what would you like to eat?" He asked, looking through the cabinet.

"I'm not hungry." I told him. Honestly, I was hungry, but not exactly for food, I was hungry for other things.

"Are you sure?" He asked.

"Yeah, I'm sure." I moved closer. I so was tired of getting intimidated every time I thought of getting intimate with him.

I was dating the sexiest man alive, I might as well enjoy it.

"David?" I wrapped my arms around him, "You look really appetizing."

"Alison, you haven't had any proper meal. Pizza is not food. I don't want you falling sick on vacation."

I chuckled, I mean here I was getting flirty with him and he was upset about my health, he was so cute, and clueless.

I beam at him,

"David, I love you." I couldn't help it. I would say it to him every second if I had to, until he knows how much he meant to me, "I should have--" My words trailed away as he locked his lips with mine within a split second, taking me by surprise.

His arms wrapped around me, bringing me closer so that there was no space left between us. Although, he had taken me by surprise, I was still happy.

And, in the heat of the moment, he carried me up and wrapped my legs around him. Unlike the other times I tried to tempt, he wasn't pushing me away this time.

I wrapped my arms around his neck for support, I was so happy and my heart was racing so fast that I actually thought it would jump out of my chest---

At least we were progressing---

Spoke too soon...

He broke away instantly and pulled me down,

"I'm sorry." He apologized amidst trying to catch his breath.

"What now, David?" I was extremely upset. "Isn't that the whole point of dating?" I scolded him, at this point, my deprived hormones were the ones doing the talking here, "Why won't you touch?" I yearned for him.

"Alison, no..." he pushed me away.

I was suddenly offended,

"You don't find me attractive, is that it? I'm just a teenage girl, I don't have enough boobs. You're attracted to bigger women, models."

"Stop it!"

"Just admit it..." I urged him, "You're not attracted to me?"

"Quite on the contrary, Ali." He reached and pulled me by the waist, "I find you very attractive." he whispered, removing the hair away from my face.

"You're just saying that to make me feel better." I smack him a little.

"I have never been more attracted to any other woman, believe me," he said and I blushed infusely.

"Then what's the problem?" I sigh.

"Sex would only complicate things, Alison," he was serious, "You still have high school to finish...."

"A lot of people have sex in high school," I told him.

He sighed uncomfortably, "Ali, you have tons of schoolwork and little time to graduate, focus on that instead."

"Ugh, this is too much." I groaned miserably and deepened my head in his chest.

It's been almost a week,

"David?" I whined as I found my way to his office, he has been working all day, and I assumed the whole point of the trip was to take a break from everything else, "David?" I whined.

"Alison, I'm working." He leaned against his desk,

"But, I'm bored...Can you take a break?" I pout and whine.

He was so engrossed in whatever he was doing to pay me any attention, I knew he had a lot on his hands, between juggling his company and my father's, but it wouldn't hurt to take a break,

I'm doing this for his own good.

"David, can we go out to see a movie?" I pestered him,

this was a new city and no one knew, we could do whatever the hell we wanted, "David!"

He looked up for the first time since I got into the room, if I didn't know any better I would think he's avoiding me,

"I want us to see a movie, I heard Frozen 2 is out."

"I want us to act like every normal couple." I beam at him.

He sighed,

"It's not safe, Alison."

"How, no one even knows here, and I bet no one is going to look for us out here, it's in the middle of nowhere."

He dropped the paperwork in his hand and made it to me, "Let's order pizza--"

"You're trying to distract me, and it's not working--"

We were suddenly interrupted by the doorBell,

"Who would that be?" I asked him, confused.

"Stay here." David said and walked towards the door,

"Be careful." I whispered in worry, but on a second thought, I decided to go after him.

"David?" I called as I saw him talking to someone at the door.

He turned his eyes to me,

"Who are you talking to?" I asked.

He sighed, and moved aside for me to see who it was, it was a blonde lady,

"Alley this is-"

"Dai." She cut him short, "Let me do the honor." She said and pushed her way inside. She seemed very familiar with him, and let's not forget that stupid nickname.

"I like what you've done with the place." She said with her eyes twirling around, "I would have done it for free, if you had hired me."

"Who are you?" I spoke up, her attitude was driving me nuts already, how dare she walk in here and act like she owns the place.

"Sorry, where are my manners, I'm Jenna, but you can call me Jen." she smiled, "And, you must Alison..."

I turned my eyes to David for a better explanation,

"Ali, meet my sister, Jenna."

"She's Jenna?" I gasped, Micheal had mentioned her. Though she was nothing like I had imagined her to be, she was gorgeous.

"You've heard of me, How brother hasn't forgotten me after all."

"Why are you here, Jenna?" David growled,

He didn't seem happy to see her.

"Well, I was in town for a few days, and then I heard my big brother was also in the same town. So I said why not pay him a visit, it's been so long."

"You should have called--" He retorted.

"You won't pick--"

I cut in

"Ignore him, we were just not expecting visitors today." I apologize on David's behalf, why's he being so rude "Jenna, make yourself comfortable." I told her, I wasn't going to let David's attitude ruin the one chance I had of knowing his family.

"I like her." She winked, "And, now I need a drink," She made her way towards the kitchen and I snapped my eyes to David,

"What are you doing? why didn't you tell me your sister was in town!?" We had spent almost a week in this city, and he never mentioned it once, he was so full of secrets.

"I don't want you anywhere around her."

"She's your family, David. You can't just stop seeing her." He doesn't answer that. "I want to meet everyone else, Can I meet your mom next?" I told him.

"No." he said bluntly, "and, I mean it."

"David?" I urged him.

"No means no, Alison. And, no more on this." He walked away. What's gotten into him?

"He will come around." Jenna appeared out of nowhere, with a wine glass in one hand, "Don't worry, I will introduce you to everyone. We are a small family of four, Dai, me, mom and nana. Nana is our longtime nanny, she practically raised us, Dai and I love her more than anything, Dai just loves her more."

"What about your father?" I asked.

"Never meet him?" She answered simply.

"I'm sorry."

She shook slightly

"Don't worry...He was a loser." She spat.

I threw in a faint smile, not sure what to say to that.

Inasmuch as I wanted to get to know David's family, I wanted to do it with him by my side, I can't let him think

I am choosing sides.

"You two don't seem to get along?" I waved in.

"Just a little family disagreement, we will be fine."

I nodded understanding,

I really should be with David right now, I thought.

"So, you are George's little girl?" She chipped in suddenly, "I have always wanted to meet you, Dai won't let me."

"You knew my father?"

"We grew up together. Dai and George were like brothers back in the day." She smiled at the memory, "and I, on the other hand, was the invisible sister," she frowned at last, bringing the rim of the glass to her lips.

"Did you meet my mom?" I asked curiously, I always loved hearing stories about my parents.

"Yes, unfortunately," She said bluntly, "She was something..."

She didn't seem comfortable with the topic, so I didn't bring it up again.

I cleared my throat,

"Micheal was actually the one who mentioned you to me." I said, hoping that would change the mood.

"Did he now?"

"Yeah, he really misses you," I added

"Well.. too bad, I have forgotten all about him." She said emotionlessly, and got up, "It was nice meeting you, Ali." She returned the glass to me, "I should go.."

"Thanks again for stopping by. I'm glad I finally got to meet you."

A slight smile appeared on her face,

"Don't worry, we will definitely see each other again."

"That would be nice," I said, walking her to the door.

"Tell dai, to stop by for coffee sometime."

God! I hate that nickname,

"I'll text him the address, speaking of address. Can I have your number?"

"Sure.." I quickly read it to her.

"Thanks, I call you."

I smiled, and with that she was out the door,

"David?" I went to find him, at the only place he could be at this hour, he went there a lot.

The beach.

I spotted him sitting on the sand and staring out the ocean,

I let out a huff, I hate it when he's like this.

"Hey." I lean down to him, "You okay?" I whispered.

He nodded, without lifting his eyes. I knew what it was about, so I started, "If you don't want me to meet your family, I won't."

He turned to me,

"I don't want you anywhere around the drama that comes with my family, it's a lot."

I wanted to tell him, his family drama was my family drama and I would love nothing more than to be part of it, but I didn't want to sound cliched.

"I love you, and that's all that matters to me." I whispered in his ear.

He chuckled, and stares at me for a while.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome....Dai." I teased.

He laughed out loud, and I was glad all the tension was over,

"Don't ever call me that."

"Why, It's adorable.. Dai."

He threw me a playful glare and I laughed, leaning my head on his shoulder "I hate the name anyway."

He chuckled and kissed my side as we both stared out the ocean.

I prayed we always stayed this happy, because I could feel there was a bigger storm ahead of us, I hoped I was wrong.
