I was still tied up to a chair but it wasn't as tight as before, my heartbeat increased as soon as I heard footsteps approaching the door.
The door opened and a masked man walked in and closed the door, he had slim broad shoulders nothing like the one that comes in sometimes to feed me, my fear increased to a maximum as he made his way slowly towards me.
I squirmed in my seat afraid of what he might do to me,"please don't hurt me."I cried out as he stooped down in front of me, why do his eyes look so familiar.
He removed his mask and my mouth gasped open in shock.
"Matt:-" he placed a finger over my mouth shutting me,"shh...just listen."He whispered looking back warily,"I am going to be working with Jenna, so I can come up with a plan to get you out of here alive but for that to work, I need you to trust me."He whispered.
"I don't believe you."I was such a fool to have believed for a second that Jenna was my friend and that she was on my side, I won't be so naive and trusting anymore.
"I knew Jenna was up to no good the day she brought you to see me and showed up at the club where I work a day later, I don't have much time to go into full details. David should be on his way by now."
"David is coming?"
A sudden relief poured down my body, bringing silent tears to my eyes. David was coming! He really was coming. I leaned back against the chair and took a deep breath to calm my already racing heart.
I stared back at Matt his eyes had a mixture of both worry and honesty, It somehow made me want to trust him.
"What's the plan?" I whispered giving him a chance.
"Just be patient and trust me."
The sound of footsteps interrupted making Matt jump to his feet as the door slowly opened and Jenna stepped into the room, "what are you doing here?" She asked throwing daggers at Matt.
"Just checking on her."
"Leave us," she growled and watched him cautiously as he left.
As soon as he left she moved slowly towards me
"you two better not be planning to get rid of me," she leaned her lips closer to my hear, "that would be a very dangerous move to play, dear Ali." she threatened.
"Good." she moved back and grabbed a chair in front of me, "let's begin, shall we?"
"Why are you doing all this Jenna? What did I ever do to you?"I cried out, I just couldn't take all this torture anymore.
Her mouth melted into a scowl and her eyes were now blazing darkly in anger,
"I don't have an issue with you, I just want David to feel how I felt when he destroyed the one thing that I cared about, bI want him to feel the agony, guilt, and emptiness I felt inside for all these years." Her eyes turned to me, "I want him to know what it feels likes to lose or live without the one he loves."
She became silent for a few seconds staring blankly at the wall, I gulped in fear for David, this wasn't about me it was about him and I wish now more than anything that he doesn't show up.
She cleared her throat, her eyes a lot softer now, "back to the story."
The next weekend, I stood outside the city hall waiting anxiously for George, I had a huge feeling he shows up.
I had spent the rest of the week, dolling my hair pretty and choosing out the perfect dress for the date. Yes! I was allowed to call it that, to me, it was a date, our first date precisely.
Hours passed by and there was still no sign of George, but I wasn't about to lose hope, I knew he would show up eventually, he must be stuck in traffic...I assumed.
"Jenna! Please come inside." My friend dory yelled from a distance as she saw me standing outside the hall, alone.
"I'm waiting for my date."
"You can wait inside."
I was reluctant for a while, but I later gave in thinking it would be weird if George saw me standing outside, desperately waiting for him.
I walked inside the hall and stood in a corner where I could easily spot him, the exhibition started and everyone began roaming around and taking pictures. I just stood at the corner of the room diverting my gaze constantly to the door.
A few hours later...
It was almost getting to the closing of the exhibition and still no sign of George, I didn't need a genius to tell me he wasn't coming.
I walked up to dory and Informed her I was leaving, she smiled and pulled me into a hug thanking me for showing up.
I gave her one last sad smile before finding my way out of the hall,"I can't believe he stood me up,"I muttered under my breath.
I decided to walk off the disappointment since my home wasn't far away from the hall, thankfully I wasn't wearing heels...I decided not to at the last minute.
I was walking carefully on the lonely path home when I noticed a black car following me from behind, in fear I fastened my steps.
A few seconds later I heard the car engine go off and what felt like a door opening."Jenna?"A familiar voice called and I turned immediately to see who it was.
"George,"I whispered in disbelief.
"Sorry....I missed it." He said as he made it towards me, I couldn't believe he actually showed up, he was wearing a black leather jacket with a white v neck shirt and a blue jean, looking as breathtaking as ever.
I could feel all the active cells in my body dance up at the sight of him.
"Hi..."I managed to alter to frozen and stunned to move.
"Are you okay?"He asked,"shit! You must be freezing."He pulled out his jacket and wrapped it around me.
It smelled just like him.
"Let me drop you off." He said pointing to the car,
I nodded and followed him.
He opened the door and gestured me in politely, I mouthed a thank you before getting in, his car had a minty scent to it.
He got in and shut the door.
"Do you mind if we get pizza?"I asked I had to spend more time with him and going home tonight wasn't even an option.
He nodded before starting the car. A smile appeared on my face as I leaned back against the seat.
"How was it?" He spoke up breaking the silence.
"huh?"I let out a bit confused.
"It was beautiful...you should have seen all the amazing painting she had displayed, they completely took my breath away." I lied, I barely even paid any attention.
He turned to me with a smile on his face,"I wish, I am as much passionate about paintings as you are."
I chuckled,"I wish, my brother shared the same enthusiasm about painting as much as you do.."
He laughed, "David has other things he's passionate about."He added.
I let out a short laugh knowing what he meant, "what are you passionate about?"I asked and prayed he doesn't say, Anne.
"I would say, Anne..she means the world to me."He gave me a warm smile, I smiled back, covering how deeply those words hurt me, I couldn't trust my mouth at the moment so I decided not to say anything else and thankfully he understood.
In a few minutes, we made it to the pizza parlor. He parked the car and we got down and made it inside.
As we entered inside, I suddenly didn't feel angry anymore, I thought if he loved her like he said he did, he would be with her and not with me.
We walked to the counter to order, "what can I get you two lovely couples."A lady at the other side on the counter asked making a smile appear on my face, luckily and George played along.
"Can I get a thick pan of pepperoni pizza and a Diet Coke."I noticed George chuckle at my order.
"And you sir." the lady asked him.
"The same, with water instead." He said politely.
"Please, take a seat it would be ready soon." the lady said cheerfully before heading behind the back.
"This way."George gestured towards a table for two.
We sat down and talked about almost everything, our order was placed down after a few minutes, "damn your hilarious, I haven't had this much fun in a long while."He said taking a sip of his water."
He chuckled and nodded.
I took a slice of my pizza and smiled before biting into it,"why are you here with me George?" I asked not able to take the suspense any longer.
He chuckled,"What do you mean?"
"I mean."I trailed off,"How do you find me?" I asked taking a slow bite slowly out of my pizza.
"I find you intriguing."He said.
He gulped his glass of water,"and a little bit mysterious."
I smiled and brought my head closer to his face,"so..you don't find me beautiful or better still sexy?" I tested him.
He swallowed thickly,"I don't think I am the right person to say that to you, Jenna."
"So... you don't think I am attractive or beautiful enough?"
"We should go..it's getting late."He dropped down his glass and moved over to the counter to pay.
I slapped my myself over the head for being such an idiot, before following him out the door, he gestured me into the car politely.
This little stunt just cost me almost everything.
He slammed the door and got in next to me,"buckle up."
He didn't say anything else and I couldn't tell how he was feeling,"I am sorry."I trailed off after a while trying to clear the mood.
"I think we should stop seeing each other."He said with his eyes still on the road.
I felt my heartbreak,"if it's because of what I said I really didn't mean to upset you."I said a bit agitated.
He parked the car on the other side of the lane before turning to look at me,"it's not you Jenna,"he paused,"I love Anne more than anything in this world."He said rubbing it boldly on my face," but for some reason I find myself thinking about you a lot lately."He paused again and stared warmly at me.
He thinks of me! those were the words that were ringing in my mind as I stared back at him,"maybe you don't love her like you thought you did."I said.
He shook his head,"I love Anne, there's no doubt in my mind about that."
"Then, why are you here with me?."I spat.
"I don't know."He whispered and at that moment I decided I wasn't going to wait until he realizes he was in love with me anymore,I was going to make him fall completely in love with me. I unbuckled my seatbelt and hopped unto his laps, thankfully he didn't object or protest. I leaned closer and began slowly trailing kisses along his neck and nibbling his earlobe,
"Are you sure about that?" I whispered into his hear...
He swallowed thickly, nodding....I trailed my tongue down his lips,"How about now?" I mumbled against his lips.
Without saying a word he traced his hands along my thigh and pushed my dress up over my hips. I leaned back and stopped his hands from moving any further above my thigh.
I climbed off him and slid over to the back seat,"come here." I motioned him over with my finger.
He smirked and slid his shirt over his head before hopping over to the back and that was step one of my plan to make him fall completely in love with me.
A week had gone by since what transpired between George and I and he was avoiding me like a hawk, he didn't call or dare to show up at the house, even to see David, I tried calling him severally but it always went to voicemail.
"Jenna?" David called from the other side of the door, "Are you okay?" he worried, I had locked myself in the room refusing to eat or drink anything for days. Nana must have informed David about it in concern, "open the door?"
"I'm really not in the mood, David," I yelled back.
"I said open the damn door, Jenna," he growled, I could feel his temper surging already.
"Just go away,"
"Jenna."He howled. I groaned and crawled out the bed to open the door, knowing he wasn't the kind to give up easily and I was definitely not in the mood for his tantrums.
I unlocked the door and jumped back on the bed, he stepped in his eyes looking around the mess in my room,"what's going on here?" he asked.
I snorted, "Since when do you care."
He moved closer and sat at the edge of the bed, "What crazy deed are up to this time?" He asked.
I scoffed in disbelief, he never seized to amaze me with all the assumptions he had about me, even while we were kids he never believed I was capable of doing good, or being decent.
So, I was really not surprised.
I grabbed a pillow and placed in over my head,
"just leave me alone." I groaned at it...
"Are you back on drugs?" He asked, causing me to jump out of bed in fury.
"Just get out, " I snarled at him, I had more than enough of his cynical assumptions about me, "I said, get out." I knew he would make me regret my reaction, but I just didn't care.
He stood up from the bed, looking unaffected,"I'm heading for a get together at George's, I don't want to meet you like this when I get back, fix yourself." He said and turned to leave.
I instantly came to my senses at the mention of George's name,
"David." I called,
he turned to look at me.
"Do you mind if I come along?" I asked politely, "I change of scenery might help."
He stared at me for a second, probably considering whether or not to take me,"meet me downstairs in 5." He said and walked out the door. As soon as he left a grin appeared on my face, I was finally going see George after so many days of sulking and crying my eyes out.
I ran to the bathroom, straightened my hair and wore a black dress that fit my body perfectly.
He wasn't going to escape me .
Satisfied with my reflection in the mirror, I gave it one last smile before walking out the door to meet David who was already waiting outside.
"How do I look?" I asked stopping in front of me.
He lifted his eyes off his phone to look at me for a brief second,"Is this necessary?" He asked,
I roll my eyes at his morbid response and got into the car.
The entire drive to George's house was silent, as siblings, we didn't have a lot to say to each other, mostly because David never paid any attention to me.
We didn't have anything in common.
After some few minutes drive, he parked in front of George's driveway and made up to the door.
"Behave." David said before pressing the bell and not a second later the door swung open revealing a smiling Anne, "Comr on in, we've been expecting you."
I smiled and stepped into the party.
They weren't a lot of people, I could estimate about 10 people in the room, my eyes began scanning the room for him immediately, David walked to the other side of the room to greet Some mutual friends of his.
"Jenna, do you mind helping me in the kitchen?" Anne asked politely, I simply nodded and followed her.
"Just help me set the table, while I dish out the food," she sighed slightly, "I'm assuming everyone must be starving by now, we should hurry up."
I smiled and began setting the table,
"Where's George?" I finally asked, "I mean he should've been here to help you." I added.
"He's probably somewhere attending to the guests," she said, while dishing out some of the food.
"And Alison?" I asked.
She paused and stared sadly at me,
"Still in Georgia, I miss her so much. I barely get the chance to go see her."
I nodded understanding, the only thing I cared about at that moment was seeing George.
After Anne and I set everything ready for dinner, I excused myself and made it out the kitchen, I needed to find George. He was the only reason I came in first place.
As soon as I stepped into the living room where everyone was starting to mingle, I spotted him standing around the corner laughing and conversing with David.
He turned for a second and his eyes locked with mine,
He gave me a half smile.
I returned the smile, but before I could make it over to him, Anne came around and pulled me along with her to the dining table.
"Dinner is ready," Anne yelled out and everyone began making their way towards the table.
"Sit with me please." Anne smiled as she pulled out a chair for me,
I smiled back and sat down, while she took a seat next to me. George walked in with David and pulled out a chair at the end of the table with David on the other side,
"hopefully they would enjoy the food." Anne mumbled, sounding a bit nervous, I reached and rubbed her hand in support,
"Relax, it'll be fine." I assured her.
I looked over at the end of the table where George was sitting and immediately our eyes clashed. He starred passively at me before turning back to his conversation with David.
After about 15minutes everyone had their plates full of chicken, carrots, rice.pretty much everything for a little get together like this one. Bottles of all kinds of wine went around the table.
"Are you okay?" Anne asked from beside me.
I looked over at her, "Of course, why won't I be." I trailed.
"You look a bit flushed."
"Oh, no. I'm not. Must be the wine...."
"That explains it then, but try and loosen up a bit you might catch someone's attention tonight."
I chuckled...how ironic.
I looked at the end of the table where George was sitting and it was empty, where did he go? David was focused on something on his phone.
I got up from my chair,
"I need to use the bathroom." I said to Anne, she simply nodded understanding.
I slipped out the dining room and climbed up the stairs. I made it up the stairs and began walking along the hallway and found my way to his study, it was the only place I thought he would be.
I knocked and waited for a response. I wasn't getting any and my patient was getting the best of me, I pushed the door open and stepped inside, closing the door behind,
"George?" I called as I stepped further into the dark room.
"Why are you here?" A voice penetrated through the dark, I turned to the corner of the room and saw him standing casually with his hands in his pocket.
I gave a sigh of relief, "I have been searching for you."
"Why are you here Jenna?" He spoke up again, "I made it clear that I didn't want to see you." He said coldly.
I moved closer to him,
"But I thought--"
"You thought nothing--" He growled,
"We share something special, you can't deny that."
"I'm a married Man, Jenna, get that into your thick skull and stop fooling yourself."
I scoffed abruptly in shock, "fooling myself?" I repeated, "Is that what you call it? fooling myself. You didn't think I was fooling myself a week ago when you were inside of me, and now you are satisfied, you're blaming me. How pathetic, George."
He rubbed the back of his neck apprehensively.
"I'm sorry." He mumbled after a while, "The guilt has been eating me up."
"I know you feel guilty George... I feel the same way too, but we can't change what happened." I ran my hand along his cheeks. "What we shared was true, if not magical." I lean in to kiss him.
He shoved me off and backedaway,
"This can't happen again, Jenna." He said to me, "I love Anne, I probably spend the rest of my life making it up to her, but this has to stop, I'm done. Don't call me or show your face here ever again."
I laughed in disbelief,
"You're dumping me?"
"Again...I'm sorry." He whispered and walked out of the door, leaving me alone in the dark,
I stood there frozen to the ground as frantic tears fell down my eyes, he hurt me with his words, but I was definitely not going to back down.
I arrived at the old house and parking the car, I made it towards the rusty old door, where to men where standing guard,
They opened the door and allowed me in, I walked inside and my heart constricted when I saw Ali tied to a chair, she was in tears.
Her eyes lit up at the sight of me,
"D...David." She stuttered.
I ran up to her and untied her fast before crashing her into my chest,
"It's alright, I'm here." I whispered, looking around.
"You shouldn't have come, David." She cried with fear eminent in her voice, "Jenna, wants to kill you--"
I crashed my lips to hers.
She pulled away to look at me, tears slipping out her eyes.
I took a loose strand of her hair and tucked it behind her ears,
"I'm going to get you out of here I promise."
She nodded, I ran my thumb gently under her eyes wiping the tears that were silently falling out.
"Well Well Well, Look who decided to join the party." I turned around and saw Jenna standing at the door with a gun pointed at us.
I immediately pulled Ali behind me, shielding her she gasped in fear,
"Jenna, what's this?"
"You know what this is, it's karma. You think you can just live happily after you ruined my happiness."
"You have a problem with me and not with her, she has nothing to do with this, just let her go."
"You're right, I don't have a problem with her, my problem is with you. She's free to go, but if she dares calls the cops, I'm going to serve her your head on a platter.."
She shook her head,
"No, I'm not leaving you here with her." She said.
"I said, no..." She snapped.
"How sweet..." Jenna mocked, "She's willing to die for you."
"Yes, I'm willing to die for him, would any do the same for you, never." Ali retorted and Jenna fumed.
"Shut up!" growled.
Her eyes turned to me,
"It seems like no one is leaving after all, sit." she snarled.
I sat on an empty chair beside Ali, hoping Bate shows up just in time..I reached and grabbed Alison's bruised arms, placing it on my lap.
She turned to look at me, her eyes blurred with tears.
"Focus." Jenna snapped, making Alison startle in fear, it broke me to see her in that state, I had to find another way to get her out of here or Jenna would hurt her.
"I have been entertaining our dear Alison with stories from the past, George and I were in love after all." My hold on her tightened knowing what it meant, the last thing I wanted was for Alison to find out the truth and hate George for that one big mistake.
"Where were we...ah! the night at George's house."
After the night George broke up with me, I was much more confident the next morning, I assumed it was his guilt getting the best of him. He had the right to feel guilty since he had to face the truth every day.
Luckily that morning Anne had called, saying she was going to Georgia alone to visit Alison.
she wasn't aware of how excited that news made me, I was finally going to have the chance to spend some time alone with George.
I wrapped up some food from the kitchen, assuming he must be starving since Anne wasn't around to make him dinner.
I stood at the door and pressed the bell, a few seconds later the door opened revealing a girl in a black and white uniform, I assumed she was the maid,
"I am here to see George."
She made way for me to come in," please make yourself comfortable." she said closing the door,
"I will let him know your here." before she could climb upstairs, I stopped her,"where's he?"I asked.
"In his study," she replied.
"It's important,I will meet him up myself," I said.
She nodded and walked away towards the kitchen, "dumbass."I muttered under my breath before climbing up the stairs.
I reached George's study, pushed the door open, and stepped without giving it a second thought...
"What the hell?" He jolted up in anger,"I thought I made myself clear that I didn't want to see you here again." He growled.
I rolled my eyes and walked closer to his desk,"I got you some food."I placed the food flask on his desk.
"Just leave." he hurled, but I wasn't going to let his words hurt me this time.
Seeing I wasn't listening, he came around and grabbed me by the wrist pulling me forcefully towards the door, halfway to the door I jolted my hand off his,"I am not leaving here George."
He paced around the room, running his hand through frustratedly,"what do you want Jenna?"He asked after a while.
"I want us to be together."
He stared at me like I had grown horns,"I have a family Jenna."He gritted.
I moved closer and wrapped my hands around his neck,"that wasn't a problem a week ago."I reminded him.
He jolted my arms off his neck,"that was a mistake." he hurled with the guilt eminent in his voice, I will be lying if I say those words didn't hurt me deeply, how could he call the magical moment we shared a mistake?
He scoffed,"we were both carried away by the moment and I am sorry if I gave you the wrong impression about how I felt about you." he said with his voice sounding a lot calmer.
"How do you feel about me?"I asked.
"That's beside the point."
His eyes locked with mine,"I think your sweet, young and really beautiful."I smiled at his words, "and any man would be lucky to have you, just not me."
I stepped an inch closer to him,"So, you think I am beautiful?"I whispered wrapping my arms around his neck and bringing my lips closer to his," and sweet."I smiled,"what else?"
"Your derailing from the point."
I moved my lips an inch closer,"What else George?"
He gulped,"and really persistent."He whispered.
Our lips inches apart itching for touch."Only when I want what's mine."I bit my lips.
We stayed silent inhaling each other's breaths for a few seconds,"I want to kiss you now George."I whispered licking my lower lips seductively.
He gulped silently before his eyes trailed down my lips,"Can you keep a secret?"He whispered taking me by surprise.
I nodded and In a flash, I felt his lips devouring mine.
Two years later.
Within two years I had succeeded in making George fall completely in love with me, at least that's what I thought.
Once in a while we would meet up at his guest house, have sex, talk and laugh about random things.
A few months later, I started working in his company as his personal secretary. He pretty much came up with the idea and Anne didn't have a problem with it, she thought it was a good idea so I could keep an eye on him, she suspected he was having an affair.
Everything was going perfectly fine for a while, until that fateful day when it all fell apart.
