Chapter 15

Everyone said their goodbyes. Rosey wanted to stay longer, but I told her Cannon wanted to take me somewhere alone. She acted funny about it at first and then she just smiled and headed home. Once everyone was gone and my family had gone inside the house Cannon took my hand and we ran off to his car. We jumped inside and he drove off. "Where are you taking me?' I asked him.

"You'll see once we get there." He said with a sexy smile on his face. I just smiled back at him and got comfortable in my seat. We drove a little over an hour up the coast and then Cannon finally pulled off the road. He drove for a few more minutes and parked the car. We were up pretty high on the side of a cliff that overlooked the ocean. There was a lighthouse off to our left that shined bright on us every few minutes or so. I t was beautiful out here and very privet. Cannon leaned back on his car with his arms crossed while I had a look around. "Do you like it?" He asked me.

"I do, it's very nice up here," I said.

"I come here a lot when I need to think or just to get away." I walked over close to him and stood next to him. He moved and went to the back of the car. He came back around with a blanket in his hands. He laid it out on the ground and we both sat down.

"Tell me why you come here to escape?' I asked him.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean tell me about you, Cannon?" I asked. He got stiff for a moment and didn't say much at first.

"You know about me. What's left to tell?" He asked. He was beating around the bush and I didn't want to upset him, but I had already asked.

"Tell me about your family," I said softly hoping not to upset him.

"There's not much to tell, you know my brothers and my parents. Well, they are parents that are never really around too much." That was all he said.

"When do I get to see where you live?" I asked.

"Never." He said. I looked over at him.

"Never? You don't want me to meet your parents?" I asked. He turned to face me.

"It's not that. I don't want them to meet you. They are not worth knowing someone like you." He said and took a deep breath. I cocked my head at him a little, but I chose to leave it alone.

"Thank you for bring me out here," I said. I felt his hand run down the side of my face.

"My parents are assholes and hateful people. I don't want you around them." He said.

"It's okay Cannon. I understand." I said and he just smiled at me. His finger went under my chin and he brought my face to his. Once our lips touched our bodies were lit with fire. It became hot and intense. I found myself on my back now with Cannon on top of me. I felt his hand go up inside my shirt and my brain wanted to slow it down, but my heart and body wanted him to go further. His kisses started to go down my neck and he lifted my shirt and started to kiss my belly. My hands were in his hair. He came back up close to me and kissed my lips again.

"Do you know how bad I want you?" He asked me. I shook my head and smiled. "Oh, you want me to tell you?" He asked. I bit my lip. "How about I show you?" He said and I nodded at him. Things with Cannon heated up. We were all over each other and there was nothing stopping us. We made love on top of that cliff and it was the best sex I had ever had. Cannon was loving and gentle and showed me what sex could really be. After that night, I thought things between Cannon and me were already hot, but we proved each other wrong. Whenever we were alone it always turned into nothing but a grope fest. Thank god for birth control. I swear I would have been pregnant seven times by now. We just couldn't get enough of each other. I loved every minute of it.

Our friends, on the other hand, were always complaining. Because even in public, we were always all over each other and we just didn't care. "Do you think the two of you could come up for air long enough to have a normal conversation with the rest of us?" Rosey said.

"Maybe what your saying isn't interesting enough for me to give a shit," Cannon said and his lips came back to mine. See, Cannon is around everyone all the time now, but I think he does it just for me. His whole personality has changed when it comes to me, but for everyone else, Cannon is just a jerk. I can't change him, I have already tried. It's just who he is. They are all lucky that he even talks. Cody and Connor already know who Cannon is and it doesn't bug them as much. We have been seeing less and less of Connor lately. Ever since he started messing around with Sandy, they are off on there own and Connor has been being anti-social. I miss him, but then again. All of my free time is with Cannon. I only see my friends at school.

I said my fake goodbye to Cannon at my front door. He kissed me gently on my lips and we smiled at each other as I closed it. Our fake goodbyes always meant I'll see you soon in my bedroom. Cannon snuck into my bedroom almost every night. My grams was the only one still awake. "You and Cannon are getting pretty close?" She said to me. I walked into the living room and sat next to her.

"Yes, grams," I said. She smiled sweetly at me.

"How do you feel about him?" She asked me.

"I think I'm falling in love with him," I said.

"That's lovely dear. Have you told him how you feel?"

"No," I said.

"Do you think he loves you too?" She asked.

"I don't know. I mean maybe. We have only been together for a month now and, I think so." I said smiling to myself like a lovesick fool. My grams shook her head and went back to watching her shows. I headed up to my bedroom. Knowing I would find him laying on my bed, but when I walked in, he wasn't there. I walked over to the window and looked out. I saw nothing but darkness. Usually, he comes right to my room and stays with me the whole night. It's been that way now for over two weeks. I sat on my bed and shot him a text asking him where he was? But sadly I got nothing in return. I was up almost two hours before I finally went to sleep. I had sent him at least three text messages and I had even tried to call him, but I got nothing.

The next morning I woke up around nine. The first thing I did was check my phone. I still had nothing from Cannon and I started to get worried. It was Saturday and I knew Cody would be awake by now. I gave him a call. He picked his phone up right away.

"Hey, April, what's up?" I heard him say.

"Hey Cody, I'm sorry to bother you, but have you seen Cannon?" I asked him. The line was quiet for a moment.

"Yes." He simply said.

"Is everything okay with him?" I asked.

"Yes." He simply said again. That's when I knew something wasn't right.

"Okay Cody, what's going on?" I said firmly.

"It's really not my place to say anything April, but he had an altercation with our father last night. He is alright, but you might have to give him some time." Cody said.

"Is he okay really?" I asked.

"Yes April, he is okay. Just give him some space for now." He said. I thanked him and we hung up. I wanted to do what Cody asked of me, but at the same time, I wanted Cannon to know I was here for him. I was still a little worried about him. I couldn't help it.

"Cannon, I'm here for you if you need me. Love you." And I hit send. I couldn't believe I said that to him. Then I heard my phone go off. I picked it up and sure enough, it was Cannon.

"You love me?????" He sent with a bunch of question marks.

"Yes Cannonball, I do." I sent to him.

"You know I hate it when you call me that." He sent back.

"But did you smile?" I sent him.

"Maybe." He sent back. I smiled at that.

"That's a yes, I'm here for you if you need me." I sent back to him.

"I love you." He sent to me. My smile was wider than normal for the rest of the day. I knew Cannon knew I was here for him, but I didn't hear a thing from him for the rest of the day. I wish I knew more about his family life. Then maybe I could understand things better. I knew from what little I was told that his parents didn't want him, but I didn't think that meant that they didn't love him. I just didn't know how bad it was. My heart hurt for him and I wished he was here so I could just hold him.

I spent most of my day with Rosey and she was just full of questions. We sat on the back porch of my house and did nothing but laugh and talk. "I'm glad you're not getting threatening text messages anymore. Maybe that person realized your not to be messed with." Rosey said.

"I hope so, but I have this bad feeling that it's not over yet," I said.

"Why do you think that?"

"I don't know. Like there hasn't been anything to make me feel this way. It's almost like a feeling I have." I said.

"That's weird, I think maybe it's just you and you're going to be fine." She said.

"Your probably right." We sat outside until it started to get dark and the nights were starting to get colder. Rosey left and I decided to stay sitting outside. My grams had brought me out a blanket and I just held my phone. I watched the screen as if it would just light up with something from Cannon, but sadly it wasn't. I knew where the Taylors home was and I was half tempted to go there and see him myself. I actually sat there and thought about it for a while. I knew it wasn't a good idea to go, but I missed him so much and I was really worried about him. I gave in and jumped in my car and head out to their place.

I pulled into their driveway and started up the long road that would lead to their house. That's when I saw the motorcycle coming towards me. Connor stopped his bike in front of my car. Causing me to hit my brakes fast. I put the car in park and got out. "Are you crazy Connor!" I yelled at him.

"What the hell are you doing here April?" He snapped back.

"What's the problem, Connor? I came to check on Cannon." I snapped back.

"Get in your car and go home, April. Cannon is fine." He said. I took a step back and leaned against my car. I crossed my arms and just looked at Connor.

"I'm not going anywhere until I see him," I said and I meant it. Connor took a deep breath and pulled his phone out. I watched him type a few things and then he just looked back at me. "What's the problem, Connor? How come I can't go to your house?" I asked him. He took a deep breath.

"Because you're not welcome here." He said. That hurt, I just looked at him for a moment. Before I could tell him how he had just hurt my feeling. A truck pulled in and stoped by us. It was Cody. He jumped out and walked over to us.

"April, what are you doing here?" He asked me.

"I came to see Cannon, but Connor won't let me," I said.

"Did Cannon invite you over?" Cody asked me.

"No, I just wanted to check on him," I said.

"I will tell him you came by, but you need to head back home now," Cody said. I looked at him and back at Connor.

"What is going on? Why can't I come to your home?" I demanded an answer. They both looked at each other and then back at me.

"Please, April just go home," Cody said. I looked at them one last time and got into my car. Slammed the door and took off.
