Chapter 6 ⚫A look down memory lane🔵
“Kelly, Kelly, wake up!” I shout. Kelly laid in my arms as I try to get her to open her eyes.
So much blood
“Come on baby, stay with me. I can’t lose you, not right now.” I say on the verge of crying.
“Hey, man I her...” Kevin ran out of the house saying, but stop dead in his tracks once he saw Kelly. “Wha... what happened?” He asks shocked.
“Help me get her to the fuckin house!” I shout. We both gently pick up Kelly’s body and bring her into the house placing her on the couch.
My hands never leaving her wound.
“Call Cass, and tell her to get over here fast,” I order Kevin. Cass lived only a few blocks away, she would be here in minutes. I look at Kelly, and she looks horrible... dead almost. It was killing me seeing her like this.
I’m going to kill whoever who did this
Kevin and Cass came into the living room. Cass looks shocked at first but quickly got to work on Kelly, “Is she going to be okay?” I ask Cass.
“The bullet didn’t hit anything on its way out. But I don’t know if she’s stable until I finish.” Cass says, her thick accent noticeable.
I pull my self together and wipe Kelly’s blood off my hands. “Keep me updated on her. Don’t let her die.” I say, sternly to Cass. She nods her head and continues to work on Kelly. I bend down and take Kelly’s hand placing a kiss on it. “Don’t leave me angioletto. We still have things to do together.”
“Kevin let’s go,” I say walking out the house and into the car.
“Where are we going, boss?” Kevin ask.
“To find the son of a bitch who did this,” I answer, driving off.
Everyone was here, gathering around the living room. It was noisy and crowded. Confusion was marked on everyone’s face. Once everyone was here, I signal for the doors to be shut. “Everyone shut up.” My voice booms throughout the room. Everyone quiet down and look at me. “Someone ordered a hit out for my girl. She was shot just outside of my damn house.” I explain, remembering all the blood Kelly had lost. “Find whoever put the hit out. I want them found now. Do whatever you have to do.”
Everyone left out the room, going to do what they were told. Once they were all out the room I take a seat and pull out a bottle of liquor. My head was pounding, and for the first time in years, I felt like crying. But I wasn’t going to... I couldn’t. I had to be strong.
Each hour that went by I made sure to call Cass and check up on Kelly. “Boss, I got something,” Kevin says barging into my office. I quickly jump up from where I was sitting. “We found some guy trying to get rid of a car. The same car you describe to be exact, with a bunch of guns in the backseat. We have him downstairs now an---” I didn’t even let Kevin finish.
I grab my gun from my desk and storm downstairs. Walking into the chamber I lock the door. No one was going to disturb me. I look at the body that sat on the chair, only to see that he was half my size... only a teenage boy. He was tied down to the chair with a cloth in his mouth. I walk over to him and point my gun at him. Fear flashes through his eyes.
“I’m going to ask you some questions, and I expect you to answer them all truthfully or I will kill you,” I say in a serious tone, keeping my gun pointed at his head. He nods his head, and I take the cloth out of his mouth.
“How old are you?”
“I’m... I’m nineteen.” He stutters.
“Where are the other guys that were in the car?”
“They... they are at the San-Antonio hotel. Room... 312.”
“Who ordered the hit?” I finally ask.
“I... I don’t know. I’m a rookie, I... I was only supposed to shoot. But I couldn’t... I couldn’t.” The boy stutters.
I believe him. “What’s your name?” I question, removing my gun away from his head.
“Well James, you should’ve never joined a gang,” I say. The look of confusion strikes before his eyes and before he could say anything, I lift my gun and shot him. Blood drips from his head and onto the floor. His lifeless body stares into oblivion. I wipe James blood off my face and walk out of the chambers with only one thing on my mind.
Find whoever hurt my girl
Kevin was already outside of the chambers waiting for me. “Gather up the men, and load up. We’re going to the San Antonio hotel, room 312.” I say.
“Sure thing,” Kevin says, walking away.
‘Welcome to the San Antonio hotel.’
The sign of the hotel caught my eyes as I park the car. Pulling my piece out of the glove department, I step out of my car. My men follow behind me as I search for the room door. “Why couldn’t we just ask for room service?” Kevin’s annoying self-asks.
It took everything in me to not to roll my eyes. “Because dumbass if we did that then room service would’ve called them,” I reply.
“That makes sense,” he admits. I just ignore him and continue to search for the room. I came to an abrupt stop when I found the room. “You three go around the back.” I signal out to three of my guys. “If anyone tries to escape, shoot them.” Everyone gets into the formation, hiding where the men in the room wouldn’t see them. “Kevin, knock on the door,” I order.
Kevin looks at me then, back at the door. “Sure thing Fratello,” He responds. Kevin’s knuckles hit the door three times until he took a step back.
“Who is it?” A thick Hispanic voice ask.
"Casa de Mantenimiento,” Kevin says in a low feminine voice. Everyone look at Kevin with confusion.
If it was under different circumstance, I would be laughing my ass off right now
The lock on the door made noise as it flew open. The look of shock flashes through the man’s eyes and before he could do anything my bullet was in his head. We storm into the room only to find, three other men with shocked faces.
Why the fuck is everyone so shocked
Before any of the men could move to grab their gun, I point my gun at them. “Woah, slow down, I only want to talk,” I say, causing them to stop. “Anyone of you speaks English?” I ask.
"Si,” one answers.
“Who ordered the hit?” I ask. All three men look at each other then back at me. They were hesitant to answer. I inhale and release pulling the trigger. The body of a middle age man falls to the ground. Gasp came from the other two men. “Sorry I have a trigger finger problem,” I say waving my gun in the air. “Now, anyone wants to tell me?”
“It... it was Leo Russo. Your father,” One states. I was hit with confusion but didn’t let it show on my face. I knew my father was a man that always does things uncalled for, but this... I never knew he would stoop this low.
“Why did he do it?”
“We... we don’t know. He just told us that she was in the way.”
“Look we’re sorry fo---.” The sounds of my bullets echoes throughout the hotel room.
“Get rid of them. Burn the bodies or something I don’t care, just get rid of them,” I say walking out the room.
“I’m going to kill him. He crossed the line.” The sound of my phone ringing brought me back to my thoughts. “It’s Marc,” I answered.
“She woke up. She’s asking for you.” Cass says.
I felt my heart squeeze. “I’m coming right now,” I say, hanging up the phone and driving off. This was good, Kelly being awake. I need answers.
I unlock the door to the house and walk to Kelly’s room. She looks better than a few hours ago. I sat down beside her and I couldn’t help to notice how beautiful she looks. Even in a condition like this, she looks like the most beautiful women I’ve ever met.
“I know I look horrible, but jeez do you have to stare so hard,” A weak voice jokes, causing me to smile.
“My angioletto, you still don’t get it, do you. You look beautiful no matter what condition or time it is,” I say, kissing her hand.
She smiles. “Whatever you say, Marc,” She responds, finally opening her eyes.
“Kelly we need to talk,” I say, getting serious. She stares at me for a minute before responding.
