CHAPTER (16):⚄Fear⚅

3 months later

"Dani come downstairs to eat!" I yell at the top of my lungs. The bottom of my crutches hit the ground as I put all my weight on them. My feet move, helping me to get to the other side of the kitchen faster. Dani comes running down the stairs as fast as she can. Her eyes fall on the pancakes on the table and they widen.

"Woah." She says, bewildered. "That's alot of pancakes mommy." Dani pushes her long curly hair out her face.

I frown at her. "Dani what did I tell you about taking out your hair." I say walking over to her. "You know the rules. You know it makes him mad."

Dani pouts. "I'm sorry mommy." She looks down at her shoes. "I don't like having my hair in a ponytail, it makes me uncomfortable." She says, sadly.

I sigh. "I know baby girl and I'm sorry, but we have to fix it before he gets down here."

"Before who gets down here?" I hear Raymond's deep voice boom throughout the kitchen.

I jump startled. "N...Nothing." I stuffer. I quickly turn to Dani and whisper in her ears. "Run to your room, lock your door and put your hair in a ponytail." She nods quickly, doing what I said. Raymond watches as she runs up the stairs. He doesn't say a thing. "Breakfast is ready." I tell him, forcing a smile.

Raymond glares at me. "Why doesn't she have a ponytail?" He ask angrily.

"She just just woke up. I was too busy cooking breakfast to go up and put it in a ponytail for her."

He looks at me for a moment, as if trying to determine if I was lying. He finally let's out a breath. "Don't let it happen again." He says sternly. "You can walk now, therefore you need to be at the top of this Kelly." He walks to the table. "And you can't keep making excuses for Dani, sooner or later I'm gonna have to discipline her."

"She's my daughter!" I say boldly. "You will not lay a damn finger on her!"

Raymond looks at me taken back. He walks towards me slowly, eyeing me like a hawk. "Who the fuck do you think you're talking to?" He questions. "You probably bumped your head while doing physical therapy, but let me help you remember what happens when you disobey me." His large hands wrap themselves around my hair, he drags me out the kitchen and into our bedroom. Throwing me on the ground, he locks the bedroom door.

"Ray, I'm sorry." I say, hoping to get through to him. He ignores me and goes into the closet. I panic already knowing what he was going to get. Lifting myself up, I run to the door trying to get it unlocked.

"Where the fuck do you think you're going?" He grabs me by my hair again and pushes me to the ground. He holds my legs down, knowing that I can't kick. It was just last month that I started to walk again. I'm still in the beginning stage, meaning that if I kick, it'll be severely painfully to my body. "I'm your husband Kelly, but yet you continue to act like I'm not." He takes out the syringe.

"Please Ray, I'm sorry. Please stop." I beg.

"You know what happens when you disobey me Kelly and now you have to deal with the consequences." Raymond sticks the syringe inside me and pushes down on it. I can feel the drug going into my system, doing its work. My eyes try to stay open. "I told you two months ago when we married, did I not?" He says. "If you won't respect me or love me then I'll keep injecting you with heroin untill you do."

"I'm sorry. Stop please." I say lazily.

He chuckles slightly. "Its alright baby, I forgive you." He cradles me in his arms. "Shhhh everything is going to be alright. Go to sleep."

And I did just that.

I sit in my wheelchair staring out the window as Dani played in the sand. The sun was shining bright as the low waves form throughout the beach. "She looks happy." A voice says startling me.

I quickly turns around. "Yeah, she likes the sand. The beach in general, but mainly the sand."

Raymond clears his throat. "Can I ask you a question?"

"Sure." I answer.

"Will you marry me?" He asks.

I look at him like he was crazy. "No." I quickly say. "No I will not marry you."

Raymond sighs. "That's not the answer I was looking for." He goes into his pocket and pulls out a syringe.

"What are you doing?" I ask, slowly moving my chair back.

"Making you mine." Once the words leave his mouth, I start pushing my chair as quickly as possible. I make it close to the door, until my chair is tackled to the ground. I crawl towards the door, so close to opening it. I feel something pickle my skin and everything becomes hazy. "We're gonna be together Kelly. Forever." The way he said it, I could tell he ment it. "Casie get in here and pick her up!" He shouts.

Casie comes in and walks towards me. He crouches down, lifting me up. "What did you give her?" He asks worriedly.

"Heroin." Raymond simply answers, picking up my wheelchair.

"Because she said no to my proposal." Raymond continues to fix everything up. Casie places me on the couch and frowns. In his eyes I could tell he wanted to say something else, but he chose against it. "Let the pastor in." Raymond commands.

Casie sighs, but does as he's told. The pastor comes in, and visibly gulps at the scene. "Is this her?" He questions, walking towards me.

"No shit idiota." Raymond responds. "Can we get this over with, I have places to be."

"I'm sorry, Mr. Ragazzone." The pastor apologizes. "You are both here today to secure the love you have for one another. In the eyes of God and everyone here you are confessing your love for one another." The pastor looks at Raymond. "Do you take this woman to be your wife?"

"I do."

The pastor turns to me. "And do you take this man to be your husband?"

With all the strength I could muster up, I shake my head no. Raymond rolls his eyes. "She does." He answers for me. He puts a diamond ring on my finger.

The pastor nods. "With the power invested in me, I pronounce you husband and wife."

Raymond places a kiss on my forehead and carries me to his bedroom. He places me on his bed. "Sleep my love."

"Kelly wake up!" A voice shouts. I'm slapped in the face which causes me to jolt awake. "Come on we don't have much time. Ragazzone is coming back any minute now."

I look up lazily at Casie. "How much time do we have?"

Casie looks at his watch. "Fifteen minutes." Casie hands me my crutches. "Come on we have to go."

I stand to my feet walking to the closet. Taking one of the purses Ragazzone bought me, I type in the code to his safe. It opens and I put all his money into the bag. "I got it lets go." I say, walking out the room. "Where's Dani?"

"In the car." Casie informs. "She's safe. After Ragazzone knocked you out, I made sure he didn't hurt her."

Turning to Casie, I sigh. "Thank you." I say sincerely.

"No problem." Casie says. "Now come on. In order for this plan of yours to work, we need to get out of here. Did you find what you were looking for?"

"No." I say, moving things fast. "I got the money, but the ring that Marc gave isn't there."

Casie shakes his head looking out the window. "Knowing Ragazzone he probably has it on him." Casie sighs. "Look Kelly, I know you want the ring but we need to go. Marc can buy you another ring."

"No." I snap. "It wouldn't be the same. Marc's grandmother gave him that ring, and then Marc gave it to me. I don't want the ring, I need it." I say. "I'm not leaving here till I get the ring, therefore take the car and get out of here with Dani. I'll be right behind you guys."

"Alright." Casie nods. "I'm leaving, but I'll meet you on the other side of the beach. Make sure you're not followed and most importantly, make it to us alive." He warns.

I smile at him. "I will." He hugs me and I hug him back tightly. He places a gun in my hands. "Everything is going to be fine. I'm right behind you guys. Now go." Casie pulls away, ready to walk away but I grab his arm. "Take care of my daughter."

"I will." Casie runs out the house and into the car. I watch as he drives away. I continue searching for the ring in places that I think Raymond would hide them. A few more minutes goes by and still I haven't found the ring. The sound of a car pulling up grabs my attention. I take my gun off of saftey and move to a dark area of the house. Quietly dropping one of my crutches, I aim the gun at the door.

The door opens and in walks Raymond. "Kelly, I'm home!" He shouts. He frowns when he doesn't hear me respond. "Kelly!" I move to the left of the room as he moves to the right. "Dani! Kelly!" He pinches the bridge of his nose and dials a number. "That stupid bitch! She fuckin left. Find her Miranda and don't hurt her." He hangs up the phone.

I wait for him to sit down before I make my move. "Where is it?" I ask, catching him by surprise.

He jumps a bit. "You're still here." He says, getting up.

"Sit down." I command, pointing my gun at him. "Sit down." I repeat.

Raymond chuckles before sitting down. "Kelly put the gun down. You're not gonna shot me." He says. "I said put it down!"

I glare at him. "That's not gonna work on me Raymond. I'm not afraid of you. I never was." I aim the gun at his leg. "Now tell me where my ring is or I'm going to shoot you."

He smirks. "Never." He says. "You're not going to shoot me."

I shoot the gun and a bullet hits him right in the leg. He crys out in pain as blood spils from his leg. "I just did, now give me the damn ring."

Raymond chuckles dryly. "Do you not know who I am Kelly? Do you not know all the things that I've been through. You can shot me all you want, I'm never telling you where the ring is at."

I nod. "That may be so Raymond but for the bit of time that I've known you, I know that there's only one thing you love and care about." I reach into my pocket, pulling out a pill. "You see this pill Raymond, this is the pill that women take to kill their fetus." I look him dead in the eyes. "If I don't get my fuckin ring, I'm killing both me and the damn baby."

For the first time I witness Raymond gulp. "You won't." He says. "You will not kill my child."

I inch the pill closer to my mouth. "Try me." I say.

"Alright!" Raymond yells when he sees I'm not joking. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out the ring.

"Kick it at me." I command and he does. I take a step back before picking up the ring. "I'm gonna leave now and don't you fuckin follow me Raymond."

"Kelly please don't go. I need you and... and you need me." He says. "I'm the one that got you to walk again, I'm the one who brought you this house... who... who takes care of you."

"You haven't done shit for me Raymond. Everything you did, you did for yourself!" I yell. "I've been through hell my whole life and you... you only made it worse." I take off his ring and throw it at him. "What kind of man gives a woman heroin, knowing that she's carrying pregnant? You're a sick fuck Raymond and I hope you rot in hell." I start to walk away.

"Kelly don't go, please don't go!" He yells. "I'll kill them... I'll kill them all if you leave!"

I turn back and look at him. "And if you do, I'll kill this child." I say sincerely. "Leave me and my family alone Raymond. Forget about me." I shut the door to the house and quickly make my way inside one of raymond's car. I step on the gas driving as fast as I can. Looking back I make sure that I'm not being followed. When I'm sure of it, I start driving to the other side of the beach.

With my crutches in my hand, I get out the car when I make it to where I'm spouse to be. "Kelly?" Casie calls out when he sees me.

"It's me." I say, getting closer to his car. He runs towards me helping me inside the car. I buckle myself in and Casie does the same. Looking back at Dani, I smile. "Hey baby girl, you good?"

"I'm okay mommy."

"Good." I say to her. "Lets go." I say to Casie.

"To Marc's?" He asks.

I shake my head. "No." I say looking out the window. "Take me to the place we talked about." Casie looks at me for a second before nodding his head. He drives off and I let out a breath. I'll have plenty of time to meet with my family, but right now... I need to handle business.
