I wake up, my eyes desperately wanting to stay open. Within seconds of realizing I was conscious, I let out a moan feeling my body weakening. I'm graced with the presence of three people, two that I know so well and one that I don't.

"Where am I?" I ask no one in particular. Everyone is looking at me with wide eyes like I've risen from the dead. They don't answer me, instead, they continue to look at me. I frown.

What the hell is their problem?

My eyes trail to my hands, seeing the healing burn scars. My stomach turns, and just like that, I'm hit with the memories of how I got them.

"Angioletto, I'm so sorry," Marc says, trying to get me out of the car, But I was stuck.

"It's okay Marc, I love you."

"I love you too baby, but I'm gonna get you out of here."

"No your not," Casie says, knocking Marc out.

"Casie please," I beg.

"Blood for blood Kelly." He says, dragging Marc away.

I was now left alone. The car was now on fire, and the heat was rising. I could feel my flesh start to boil as I start to lose consciousness.

"I love you, Marc," I say one last time, as my world falls into darkness.

The monitors start to go off and my breathing hitches. "Marc? Dani?" I say, remembering. "Where are they? Did you guys find them?"

Kevin is the first to approach. "Kelly calm down, just breathe for a minute." He says. But I don't listen.

"Don't tell me to calm down!" I snap, taking the cords connected to me off. "Where's my baby? Where's Marc?" No one answers me. I try to stand but instantly fall to the ground. I realize it now. I can't feel my legs. "What's going on why can't I feel my legs?" I sob. Kevin turns to Wyatt yelling at him to go get the doctor. He turns back to me, trying to get me to calm down. My breath stutters in my lungs, making it harder to breathe. Tears fall from my eyes as I plead for answers. "Where are they? Please just tell me, I need to know!" I'm having a panic attack, something I haven't had since my uncle was alive.

"Kevin move, I can get her to calm down." A voice says. My eyes snap to the woman, looking at me with worry in her eyes. Kevin moves and she takes his place. "Kelly you don't know me, I know you're scared and that listening to a stranger tell you to do things is annoying. But I need you to just take a big deep breath for me. Okay?" I nod, before taking a deep breath. "Good, now slowly breathe out. Forget about everything and focus on your breathing."

Letting it go, I feel the tension drain from my body. My breathing returns to normal. I take a moment, trying to get my head together. "Kevin," I call to him. "Please answer my questions."

Kevin looks at me sadly, before picking me up. He places me on the bed and sits down at the nearest chair. Wyatt comes back into the room, an older man with him as well. I'm guessing he's the doctor. "Hello, Kelly." He says, approaching me. "I'm Dr. Luke and I'm the one that's been looking after you for the past year."

I gasp. "I've been asleep for a year?"

"Yes." Dr. Luke answers, "I understand that you have plenty of questions, but I can only answer the medical ones. If it's okay with you, can I continue on?"

"You've been in a coma for a year. Since you were in the car for a numerous amount of time, you've suffered from a lot of second-degree burns throughout your body. With time and patience, I'm sure we can soon get rid of some of the burns." Dr. Luke, informs me. "When you were in the crash, the impact caused a rupture of your spine. We don't know if you'll be able to walk again, but I would recommend physical therapy for better results."

I message my temple. "I can't walk," I whisper to myself.

"There's something else." Dr. Luke, says. "I'm not sure if you want everyone in the room to hear it though."

"Just spit it out!" I snap. I look away. "I'm sorry."

Dr. Luke sends me a small smile. "It's fine, no harm no foul." He clears his throat. "You may not have noticed, but before the accident, you were with child."

My heart clenches. With teary eyes, I look down at my hands. It doesn't take rocket science to put two and two together. I had a miscarriage. "Can everyone please leave." No one listens. "Get the fuck out!" I shout. "Please!" That's all it took for them to leave. A lone tear traces down my cheek, and just like that, I'm crying. So many tears burst forth like water from a dam, spilling down my face. My chin trembled as if I was a small child. I breathe heavier than I ever had before. Gasping for air that simply wasn't there.

My life is and will ways be, shit.

A knock sounds at the door, causing me to sigh. I just want to be alone right now. "Can I come in?" Kevin asks, through the other side of the door.

"Yeah," I say, facing the other side of the room. He walks in, and I hear him close the door and sit down.

"I'm sorry." Is the first thing Kevin says after a moment of silence.

"It's not your fault."

"Are you gonna look at me?"

"No," I say, truthfully. "I'm not really in the mood for company."

"Ke--" I interrupt him.

"Are you going to answer my questions?"

"Of course I am." Kevin sighs. "We don't know where Dani and Marc is. But,"

"But, what?" I say, turning to look at him.

"The woman that was here, she claims she knows."

"Is she legit?" I ask.

"We don't know yet, but I can say that everything she's said does seem legit."

"Can I talk to her?"

"Yes, of course, you can," Kevin says, standing up. "I'll go get her."

He's close to walking out the room, but I stop him. "Kevin, wait." He turns, looking at me. "I'm sorry for not being myself. For snapping at you guys."

Kevin shrugs. "Kelly for as long as I've known you, you've always kept things bottled up. You've been in a coma for a year if I was you I'd snap too." Kevin says. "Hell, I'd be worried if you didn't snap."

A light smile graces my face. "Thank you for understanding."

"No problem."

"Can you tell Wyatt that I want to see him after I'm done."

"Sure thing," Kevin says, before walking out the room.

Not even a minute goes by, there's a knock at the door. "Come in," I say. The door opens and in walks the woman that was here a few hours ago. She was taller than average girls and was certainly pretty. Her skin glows, increasing her features. Her hair was straight, and eyes brown. Even though she had on a sweat suit, you could tell her figure was perfect. She glances around the room awkwardly, probably wondering where to sit. Or just scared of me. "You can sit anywhere you like, I don't bite," I say, trying to lighten up the mood.

She chuckles slightly. "I know that." She says, before sitting down in a chair near me. "I just don't want to make you feel uncomfortable."

"You're not."

"Good. That's good."

I lick my dry lips. "Kevin says you know where my fiance and daughter is."

She frowns. "You have a daughter?"

"Yes. Her name is Dani."

The woman quickly rises to her feet, taking out her phone. "This is bad. Really bad." She mumbles to herself. She dials a number, but it goes straight to voicemail. "Shit!" She curses. "Simon pick up the phone, we have an emergency!" She says before hanging up.

I frown. "What's wrong?

She sighs, before sitting back down. "I know where your fiance is. My boyfriend is working to get him out. The problem is I never knew you had a daughter, and I only have passage for two people."

"Which means if Dani is in the same place as Marc, someone out of the two has to stay behind." I finish.

I chuckle humorously. "This is great. This is just so great." I say. "This is my life, this is my curse," I whisper to myself. I look up at the woman. "Who are you? And why exactly are you doing this for me? How exactly do you know me?"

The woman visibly gulps. "My name is Diana Thompson. I know you because my mother is your mom and uncle's sister."

"Not possible."

"Defiantly possible," Diana says. "My mom and your mom are fraternal twins. A few months after your mom got pregnant with you, my mom was taken by my dad. My dad, well Ford was sick so he wouldn't let my mom see any of her family."

"Wow." Is the only thing I could say.

"Wow indeed," Diana says. "I'm doing all of this because I want to help. I know that when it comes down to family, we've both had a bad experience, but I'm honestly trying to change that."

"You sound sincere."

"I am sincere." She says. "I'm going to get your family back Kelly and all I want in return is to get to know you. To be a family."

I smile small, my eyes tearing up a bit. "Your gonna make me cry," I admit. "I'd love to get to know you, thank you so much for doing this for me."

Diana smiles. "Its what family's for."
