Wow, I thought. He looks just like a little boy when he blushes like that. His eyes locked with mine and he cleared his throat.

“Well, lay down sweet cheeks,” he said softly.

I turned around to climb into the bed and I heard his sharp intake of breath. I spun back around in alarm. “What is it?” I asked.

His eyes glazed over and he was working that muscle in his jaw again. A habit of his that worked well with his features. I found it incredibly sexy for some reason.

“Nothing doll face,” he said softly, stepping closer to me. “Nothing at all.” His gaze danced down from my shoulders toward my thighs and I began fidgeting nervously. He closed his eyes and spoke, “Just lay down Desire.”

“Okay,” I agreed and turned again, climbing into the bed and pulling the covers over me. Okay... The blanket was definitely comforting.

He opened his eyes and flipped the light switch, plunging us into darkness. After gathering my clothes, he placed them under the bed. He flopped down on the bed next to me and lay on top of the covers, his back against my knees. I marveled once again at the mechanical way his muscles seemed to flex with his every movement.

“What a mess we’re in now Desire," he whispered. " You’re going to have to help me get out of it. Nighty-night and remember, I’m a very light sleeper."

So I snuggled deeper into the soft down comforter and began to cry silently. I’m sure he probably heard me sniffle once or twice, because I felt his body tense a couple of times. Then he inched back farther into the bed until his back rested against me. I was covered head to toe, so I didn’t mind it. It was actually even a little bit comforting. I closed my eyes and decided to try and sleep. He said I could go home tomorrow right? Well, the faster I got to sleep, the faster tomorrow would come.

My eyes popped open at the sound of the front door downstairs. I was instantly alert. I could feel Desire at my back so I knew it wasn’t her. Doesn’t hurt to check though. I sat up swiftly and glanced over my shoulder. She was sleeping peacefully.

As quietly as I could I picked up my gun then loaded the clip. I silently stepped toward the bedroom door and stood there in the darkness, waiting.

Come on...

It was then that I heard the annoying voice of a female speaking to Parker in the hall. Shit, I thought. It's Dale. Fuck. What happened to tomorrow night? I put my gun back down under the bed and sighed in disappointment. Well I sure as hell can’t let Dale see Desire.

I cracked the bedroom door and listened.

"What the fuck are you doing here Dale?" I heard Derren say angrily.

"Yeah. You said tomorrow night not tomorrow morning," Parker chimed in.

An ugly, sugar coated chuckle sounded. "So? What’s the problem? You know better than that. Never let anyone know when to expect you. Beginner shit. Hello." Yup. Definitely Dale. "Now where is Kilo?"

I rolled my eyes and took a couple of steady breaths. This bitch has it coming, but it isn't time to give it to her yet. I've still got a few things on my list before that happens.

"He's asleep. Exactly where I’m going right now." I heard Derren stomp down the hall before slamming his door.

"I guess he better get to bed," Dale spat. "I heard about his blunder yesterday afternoon."

Of course you did bitch. You were in on the whole damn thing.

"Which of course is why I’m here now," she went on. "Where is Kilo?"

"In his room dragon lady," Parker laughed.

Time to step out. I opened the door and shut it behind me so swiftly she didn't have time to even register my presence.

"I’m right here," I said, crossing my arms over my chest and blocking the door to my room.

Parker turned to face me. "Oh Kilo, look who’s here!" Parker cooed. "Dale!" Then with a clap of his hands he retreated to his room. He slammed his door too and I grit my teeth at the noise. One more door slamming might wake up Desire.

"What are you doing here Dale?" I asked her coldly.

She sauntered toward me slowly, swaying her hips in a rhythm that I'm sure she thought was sexy. Her blond hair bounced as one whole piece on her shoulders. She pouted her freshly painted lips as she spoke, "Baby we need to talk." She sighed and did her best to look upset. "I know about the foul up at the drop off point."

I chuckled, then tapped a finger over my lips carelessly. "I don’t give a fuck about what you know," I said nonchalantly. "I give a fuck about getting some sleep after a long damn day." I smiled at her as sweetly as my stomach would allow. "So go back to where you came from, and I’ll ring you tomorrow! Okay? Baby?" I did my best to dress my words in sarcasm, but she was fucken clueless.

"Kilo," she started, running a finger from my throat to my chest more slowly than I would have liked. "We need to talk about this."

I lost my smile. "Yeah? Well, not tonight." I began rubbing my chin absently before rolling my eyes in annoyance. She still hadn't removed her finger from my chest and I had half a mind to snap it in half.

"Then come back to my hotel with me and we can talk there," she suggested smoothly. She leaned in close to me and whispered, "Or...we could not talk and then talk." She laughed again. I realized just then that part of what I hated about her, was her cackle. "After that you can sleep all you want." She raised a hand up to touch my lips and I had to bite down to keep from slapping her hand away.

I said simply, "Not with you. Not tonight. No."

She scowled at me and took her hand back.

"We agreed to talk tomorrow and tomorrow is what it will be," I stated.

She got frustrated, and threw her hands up in the air. "Don’t tell me you’d rather spend your night in this hell hole."

I crossed my arms again. "I’m not leaving Dale. I’ll spend the night with you tomorrow," I lied. "Not tonight. Go. I’ll see you tomorrow." My patience was wearing thin so I chose to speak to her as if she were a child.

"Fine then," she sighed, giving in finally. "Kiss goodbye?" She leaned into me and grabbed the waistband of my pants.

I clamped my hands over hers and all but ripped them off of me. "Come on. I’ll walk you out."

She spun around in anger, but still managed to sway her hips while she stomped down the stairs. I did my best to rush her out without being too obvious, but my mind was on the sleeping angel in my room. I really didn't want to have to chase her through the woods if she escaped.
