I have no idea what to say or think of what Donald just dropped on me. I didn't expect him to apologize, to be honest. He is the son of David after all and he is proving that he is not like his father.
"I am truly sorry for the pain I caused you and for not turning to the police sooner. I went away to plan everything and to avoid my father finding out what I wanted to do," he informs me and I stare at him.
"Please say something?" He pleads.
"You know, I suffered a lot after what you did—"
"Sometimes I cried myself to sleep. It was the most difficult time of my life and I had no idea how to deal with the emotions than to shut them off. You made me feel dirty and worthless. You had control over my body and I hated it, I couldn't even get close to a guy. I hate you for taking what didn't belong to you." I finally say what I have been longing to say to him. What I have bottled us for all those years. It's good to finally say it to his face.
"I hate you for always tormenting me in my dreams. I hate you so much and I wish you never get out." I finally say and wipe my tears. I look at him and find him already looking at me with a look I can't read. I feel like I can ultimately breathe after so many years of struggling. I have always imagined how it would be talking to him—telling him how I feel and the hate he put inside my heart.
"I understand. I didn't expect you to forgive me. I am at peace now that I am paying for what I did." He says and gives me a small smile making me feel guilty for telling him how I hate his guts.
"Time is up," a security guard yells and I look at Donald one more time, grab my bag and walk to the door with other visitors.
I sign out and walk out of the prison. I walk down the road trying to gather my thoughts and feelings. I have no idea what I am feeling or what I should feel. Seeing Donald wasn't what I imagined. I expected him to brag at my face, tell me how good it was to have his way with me, that he is not sorry and he doesn't regret a thing. I didn't expect to apologize.
A car honk breaks me from my train of thoughts and I look at the road to find a taxi. I point my finger down and it stops in front of me. I open the backseat door and hop in.
"Payne Corporation," I tell the driver and he drives into the less busy road. I open my phone and see Future's missed call. Tay must have told her that I am back. It has been a while since I saw her. I dial her number and she answers on her first ring.
"Oh my God! it is good to hear your voice again. Is it true that you are back?"
"Yes but not for good. I just came to do something. " I tell her and hear a cry from the background.
"Is that Eric?" I ask with a smile playing on my lips.
"Yes, I am feeding him. I wanted to ask if you would be able to meet before you leave?" She asks.
"Yes, of course."
"Greet! You will tell me when you are free?"
"Yeah," We talk for a while and hang up when the taxi came to a halt in front of the Payne Corporation building.
"Thanks," I tell the driver and climb out of the car.
I walk inside the building and walk to the receptionist table. The same girl from the time I came here for the first is standing behind the desk.
"Hi, I am here to see Tay," her eyes widen and look for something on her desk.
"Yes, you can go up Mrs. Payne." She says nervously and I pull my lower lip between my teeth to keep a laugher from coming out. I walk to the elevator and step in with other stuff that work here. I stand at the back as I listen to their gossip.
"The boss is back, I saw him this morning and he looked really pissed," One says holding a blue file and has dirty blonde hair.
"I heard that someone stole from the company. Whoever did it has a death wish ." another one says and I keep quiet.
"Nah! I bet he didn't get laid last night that's why he is so grumpy today," I choke on my own breath and keep my head from their eyes. If Tay heard what they are saying about him right now he would surely fire them all. The elevators beep open and they all step out leaving me in the elevator all by myself.
The elevator beeps open after a while and I step out.
"Is Tay in?" I ask the girl outside Tays office.
"Yes," she says and I knock and open the door. Tay is seating on his chair with a laptop in front of him. He calls me to him by his hand and I walk around his table and sit on his lap.
"Hey!" I peck his lips with my hands around his neck.
"You are in a good mood?" He raises his eyebrow at me questioningly.
"Seeing you got me in a good mood," I say and run my fingers through his hair.
"Oh yeah!" He says seductively and a smile breaks on my lips.
"Yes, and I bet this table is strong is enough to hold us," I say seductively and Tay smirks.
"You don't say," his smirk is cruel like he knows something I don't.
"Uhm, sir! I think we should continue this another time," a voice says from behind and I jump on Tay lap turning around to face multiple eyes on me on the laptop.
"How....how long have they been watching!"
"Since the beginning,"
"Oh my God!" I get off Tay lap and run to the bathroom and Tay laughs.
