Before I started with my errands, I walked into the waiting room where our family was.
“DADDY!” I smiled scooping Cove up into my arms, as she ran over to me, placing a kiss to her cheek. “Our baby sisters here?”
“Yes, habibti. You’re baby sisters are here.” That statement earned cheers from everyone, as I sat down in a chair next to my father.
“Congrats, Lio. I never thought I would say this, but you’re going to be an amazing dad to the newest Harringtons.”
“That’s cause daddy is the best.” I smiled at Cove, as she stood up in my arms to place a kiss to my cheek.
“Is my girl okay? When can we see her?” Veronica ask, as she put the balloons and gift bag she was holding to the side.
“She’s fine, the doctor wants her to rest, for the time being.”
“I made it in time then.” I turned around to see Archie holding a pink balloon arrangement and a large gift bag in his hands. “Traffic was terrible getting here.”
“Uncle Archie my baby sisters are here, my baby sisters!” Archie smiled at Cove as he walked into the waiting room. Since, Veronica’s birthday party things have been awkward between us, and I hate it. Though Archie was a pain my ass, I never wanted or want to see him hurt, and the fact that I played a role in his pain, hasn’t settled well with me. I wasn’t sure if he was still with Delilah or not, because after everything that has been happening these past few weeks, there just hasn’t been time for us to talk.
“I’m glad you’re excited Coco Bean, I am too.” Archie smiled, sitting down next to us.
“Son, why don’t you and Archie head to the cafeteria and get some coffee.” I turned to my father, raising my eyebrow at his little plan to get Archie and I to talk. “I’ll take Covie, until you come back.” I turned to Archie, who simply shrugged his shoulders before getting up.
“I could go for a coffee, I’ve been in meetings since seven this morning.” I let out a sigh, standing up myself.
“You want a doughnut, princess?”
“Yes, please. Strawberry with sprinkles.” I nodded, placing Cove into my father arms, walking side by side with Archie to the elevator. An awkward silence loomed over us, as we rode down to the cafeteria.
“So.” I turned to face Archie as he spoke. “You’re a father of three girls now, never saw that shit coming.” I smirked.
“Yeah, neither did I.” Archie laughed lightly, stepping out after me as the doors opened. We walked over to the coffee barista, ordering our beverages, before sitting down at a free table, secluded from the surrounding people. I took a few sips of my coffee unsure how to approach this topic. “Look, I’m sorry. I didn’t want you to find out like that.” Archie stirred the straw around in his ice coffee.
“Were you ever going to tell me?” He looked up. “That wasn’t just a secret Liam, I could have had a kid.” Archie let out a pained chuckle lightly shaking his head. “I can’t help but be a little bit jealous, that you got everything I wanted without even asking for it. A woman who loves you, kids, a supportive family.” Archie pursued his bottom lip, letting out a deep breath. “I’ve been pining after Delilah for years, and she took advantage of that.”
“No, I need to get this off of my chest.” I halted what I was going to say to let him speak, whether I wanted to admit it or not, I hurt my best friend. And that’s the last thing I ever wanted to do. “We slept with women together because we found enjoyment in it, it was a sport for us that we didn’t have to work hard for. But the more we did it, the more I realized, that I couldn’t get a woman without you. When you were done using them as your playthings they would come to me, and expect me to treat them like you did.” Archie looked up at me. “Like cheap whores. I wanted to wine and dine them, potentially make a relationship, but they didn’t want. Not with me at least because I wasn’t you. I couldn’t and still can’t live up to the great Lionardo-Majid Harrington.” Archie let out a sigh.
“You have everything Liam, everything I wanted to have.” Archie relaxed his shoulders, looking away from me. “So, when you told me that she aborted my child, I nearly wanted to kill you.” Archie brought his gaze back to me. “But, she aborted the child before she told you, so I can’t be mad you. You gave me multiple warnings, and I didn’t listen.” Archie laughed, taking a big sip of his drink. “Jokes on me, eh. Son of a crack head, and abusive shit father thought he’d be a good husband and father material.”
“Stop, Archibald.” I hated when he did this. “Regardless of your parents, you are a decent guy. And I’d let my daughters date a man like you, before I’d let them even get into a close proximity with a man, like I used to be.” I let out a sigh. “I wanted to believe she changed for you, the bitch is damn good liar.”
“Got that right.” Archie took another sip of his drink.
“Have you filed for divorce?” Archie nodded.
“I did it the night of Katherine’s friend’s party. I’ve been staying at the Kingpin, until this is all sorted.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I was trying to give you the silent treatment, so I didn’t murder you, fuck face.” Archie and I let out a chuckle. “Plus, I’ve had some company, so it hasn’t been too lonely.”
“Really? Who?” I took another big sip of my coffee.
“Your sister.” I choked on the hot liquid going down my throat, staring up at Archie.
“Why the hell is London keeping you company?” Archie let out a deep breath.
“We may or may not be sleeping with each other.” I placed my face into the palm of my hands, letting out a groan. “Jesus, it’s not that bad.” I lifted my head up.
“Not that bad? Archie, I don’t want to think about you doing my sister, the way we used to do the women we slept with.”
“Okay, now you’re making it gross.” I rolled my eyes.
“Wait, London is married, why the hell are you sleeping with a married woman.” Archie’s eyes widened as he let out a cough.
“I’m guessing she didn’t tell you.”
“Tell me what?”
“I’m not going to spill her business, that’s not my place.”
“Oh, we’re pass it not being your place, after you stuck your dick into my sister.”
“You’re really making this weird.” I rolled my eyes, as Archie finished up his coffee. “So, um, we’re good now right?” I let out a sigh.
“Yeah, we’re good.” Archie nodded.
“Cool, cool. It sucks not talking to you everyday.”
“Mhmm.” Archie smirked.
“You missed me didn’t you, Lily.”
“Go to hell.”
“Awn, you missed me. That’s cute bestie.” I rolled my eyes as we got up from the table. “I’m going to keep seeing London, just so you know.” Archie spoke, as I got Cove’s doughnut, from the small stand.
“Do whatever the hell you please.”
“Really? I was expecting you to like to punch me, or forbid me from dating your sister, and we’d have some like full on brawl for your acceptance.” He and Katherine would have a blast watching those corny ass chick flicks together.
“You need to stop watching the romcoms.” I pressed the button on the elevator, to head back up to our floor.
“Hey, those romcoms, are quality works of art.” I rolled my eyes, grabbing my vibrating phone from my pocket.
Incoming call from: Hugo Castro
-What is it, Hugo.
-I bugged Hilary’s phone like you asked, sir.
Once the elevator stopped on our floor, I closed the doors, telling Archie to wait a minute.
-Anything that proves my suspicions?
-We have texts from the people she hired to break into the penthouse, and I noticed her keys are missing.
-Names, Hugo. Do you have names?
He was silent for a bit, before he spoke again.
-Aaron Crawford, I sent someone to watch him, apparently he is fleeing the country. Bought a ticket to Romania that leaves tomorrow morning.
-Oh, no, the hell he isn’t. I don’t care what you have to do, do not let that son of a bitch leave his house, I’m on my way.
“What’s going on?” I turned to Archie opening the elevator doors.
“Your dear father-in-law, and my lovely assistant organized the break in at my house.” Archie’s eyes widened.
“No, way.” Archie took a gulp. “Delilah hasn’t been at our house the last three days, and apparently the GPS to my Range Rover has been cleared from the last week.” I let that fat prick, and his spawn off Satan to easy, but clearly they mistook my kindness as some slap on the wrist, to go further than they already had.
“Figure out where she is. She and her father have gone too far now.”
