Chapter 27

They spend the evening curled up watching movies, Once it starts getting late Raven starts yawning, Freddie looks over smiling “Tired babe?”

Raven smiles up at him “Just a tad!”

Freddie smiles “lets get you to bed then shall we” he helps her up the stairs and helps her get changed, he changes her dressing and helps her in to bed “Night baby..”

Raven smiles “Night...” she looks a little disappointed

He notice’s “What’s wrong babe?”

Raven goes shy “I was kinda hoping you’d stay with me...” Freddie smile's then lay’s beside her and gently pull’s her in to his arms and they cuddle up and eventually content they fall asleep.

A few weeks of recovery go by and Raven is starting to feel more human and could finally get about without pain, it’s early morning and Raven wakes heading down stairs, making coffee and sitting at the table, after an hour or so a knock comes at the door, she wonders who would be here knocking this early, she stands and heads to open it, she jumps back “NO GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME!”

“WAIT PLEASE!”

She rushes back through the house knocking stuff over on her way, which wakes Braxton who comes down to investigate “YOU! GET OUT OF MY HOUSE NOW!”

“I JUST WANNA TALK TO MY DAUGHTER!”

Braxton stands between them “TALK TO YOU’RE DAUGHTER! THE ONE YOU PULLED OUT GUN ON, THE ONE YOU SHOT, THE ONE WHO DIED AND HAD TO BE BROUGHT BACK?”

Aaron is stood in shock “d...d...died?!”

“I DON’T WANT YOU ANY WHERE NEAR HER! YOU ARE POSION! AND JUST LIKE ME SHE IS BETTER WITHOUT YOU IN HER LIFE!”

Braxton is standing confidently in a protective state, Raven is cowered on the floor crying in to her knees, as she looks up she can see Aaron about to throw a punch and a inner strength comes from no where she jumps up launching herself at Aaron punching kicking, attacking him in anyway possible “YOU PIECE OF SHIT!” Braxton try’s to pry her off him

He then turns to see Freddie come running through the hall “WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE!....RAVEN!”

He pulls her in to his arms to calm her “Braxton take her in to the other room! NOW!”

Braxton doesn’t hesitate and takes her in to the other room.

“Pfff she is my daughter!”

Freddie gets up in his face “A daughter who did nothing but love you, and dare I say it admire you and you pulled a gun out on her! A FUCKING GUN, she has spent weeks recovering from it, she fought so hard to get through that, then you have the audacity to show up!”

Aaron is crying “I never meant to hurt her...”

“WHAT THE HELL DID YOU EXPECT! AND IF YOU KNOW WHATS GOOD FOR YOU, YOU WILL GET AND STAY THE HELL AWAY! Do something decent for her for once...”

Aaron hangs his head and backs out, leaving sulking. Freddie follows him out making sure he leaves and locks the door, he heads in to the front room where Raven is inconsolable, as Braxton holds her, Freddie sits the other side and Braxton gently moves her in to Freddie’s arms.

Saturday swings round and Raven is getting ready to do her normal shift at the club, she wanted normality back and it starts here, they moved the opening of Rose Corner to Monday since everything went up the way it did, herself and Freddie were making a go of things and she was just trying to piece together the parts of her life again.

She is fully dressed to impress and feelings good again, she takes a look at herself in the mirror, Braxton comes in behind her “You sure, you wanna do this?”

Raven rolls her eyes “stop fussing!”

Braxton sighs “so why didn’t you tell Freddie you were going back today?!”

Raven raise’s her eyebrow “really? you’re going there, I don’t need people running my life Brax, maybe I need to start looking for my own place again, I don't need to be smothered or watched the whole time! and if you must know it's so I don’t have 2 of you on my case! bad enough with just one, deciding what I should be doing and shouldn’t be doing! How I’m feeling or how I should be feeling! if If wanted that I would of stayed with Satan himself! now if you’ll excuse me....” she barges out the room down the stairs, as she is walking out Freddie is coming in, he try’s to talk to her but she storms off.

Soon enough she is back on the stage, expressing her emotion through song, and you could feel it in that room, the second she started singing, silence hit and no one said a word until she had finished. Her favourite film is "Burlesque" and she thought given everything she had been through the last few weeks that the last song she chose to perform that night was "Cher's- You haven’t seen the last of me, she thought the lyrics fit perfectly to her situation, this song always gave her that push when she needed it, and always got her through the hardest of times, the music starts and everyone watch’s hooked as she begins to sing, it was so raw and every emotion came out in it, she felt the power of it pulse through her and gave it every bit of her heart and soul in to it.

As the end of the song comes, she gives the last push with every ounce of her being put in to it as she starts to cry a little, everyone jumps up screaming clapping, cheering and whistling, it was the most alive she had felt in so long, she was back and she was going to own it.

As she grabs her stuff she heads down to the bar, from behind her a voice calls out “Birdie amazing as always!” Raven freeze’s then backs away, he looks hurt “I won’t hurt you, I thought you’d know that by now!”
