So here I am, writing the book that I did not know I knew how to write! My family is well and the children are now grown!
Eric and I are grandparents! Our newest heartbeat is named Triston Avery and Eric and I just celebrated 30 years together!
Everyone is well. Sand is thriving, a Supervisor in a major hotel chain; Presley Jr. aka Kooky served in the Combat-Special Unit, serving and protecting us in the US Army; James is a Pastor; Delbert is a former UFC Fighter (before they were called it UFC), Eric is now the Virginia Area Supervisor for a national fast food chain overseeing 10 stores and I am the Operations Coordinator for an OST (out-of-school-time) System that coordinates consistent, high quality expanded learning opportunities after school with program providers for low-income high stress background children. I pray all children out there find or have their “Miss Tina’s” and their earthly Angels that will have an open ear… #IamMissTina
Yes, I have been blessed! I wasted so much time and energy worrying (and still do if I am not aware of myself, old habits can be hard to break), but I am learning that things are going to be what they are meant to be and my fear does not change that. So I keep moving; everything else will work itself out.
Why did I write this and “put all my business in the streets” as my Momma would say? I hope that we ALL can show our beauty through ashes; as Joyce Meyers so eloquently put it. Everyone has gone through or is going through something these days; REAL THINGS! I want to encourage you to continue to LOVE, continue to BELIEVE, continue to DREAM, continue to TRUST and continue to LIVE! Be happy; for yourself and others, you never know what they have lived through… to be able to look at you and smile!
Know that you can more than survive… you can thrive!
And in the famous words of my baby sister Sand, “I’m waiting to see what God is going to do next! To be continued in Jesus’ name… Amen.”
