Carta ao Meu Eu-Passado

Caro Eu-Passado,

Não é por falta de interesse e nem por descaso que não pergunto como lhe vão as coisas, mas por muito bem já as saber. Sei também que, por se encontrar em profunda perdição de si, incrédulo de tudo e todos que passam a lhe rondar, inclusive de si mesmo, muito lhe custa a esta carta ler, mas é por ela que lhe trago boas-novas!

Digo-lhe que por aqui as coisas muito têm melhorado, que muitas das nossas dúvidas e dificuldades têm, desde então, se resolvido e novos rumos tomado, diferentes dos que aí está a pensar. Por incrível que possa lhe parecer, e sei que muito lhe parecerá, nossa vida tornou-se novamente iluminada e, de uma forma nova e curiosa, saborosa. Os amanheceres não são mais torturantes e temidos, mas confortáveis e amenos, alguns até muito prazerosos. Os dias têm passado com fluidez e tranquilidade – desprezemos, contudo, aqueles inevitáveis aborrecimentos da vivência coletiva. As noites continuam a serem impacientemente aguardadas, mas não mais pelo refúgio concedido e sim pelo divertimento ou pelo simples relaxamento do lar, nelas sempre contidos. E são as madrugadas que mais me prazem, pois agora, ou nelas chegamos ou por elas passamos descuidados num profundo desmaio regenerador, que sei que há muito não tem.

Confesso que os fantasmas ainda assombram, mas não com a tempestuosidade e vivacidade que você tão bem conhece, mas cá estão e isso não posso e nem devo lhe negar. Mas também confesso que não é de todo mal que, vez ou outra, ainda apareçam. É preciso que algo nos lembre do que fomos e pelo que passamos – e isso eles fazem muito bem, bem até demais, lhe confidencio –, pois o esquecimento é fácil e a ansiedade e a espontaneidade de reviver cegam e ensurdecem. Devemos nos lembrar, eu e você, ao menos assim podemos nos postar matreiros diante do que está por vir, mas sem perder a doçura de viver. E estas são as lembranças que me fizeram perceber que eu, justamente eu, também havia me esquecido de você.

Enfim, lhe escrevo para contar que por aqui os dias estão mais claros, as cores mais vivas e paira a vontade de viver; por isso, aguente firme, ele dependerá de nós. E lembre-se: você não está sozinho, quando as coisas apertarem, olhe para dentro de si e me verá!
