Especially if they happen to be historical characters. If I were in command you would have fallen in love with Madeleine de Scudéry who values talent above all. But then, wouldn’t a handsome man to waste on her?

You made a fatal mistake, poet! When one sets his heart on a Princess, then he should treat her as any other girl. A woman is rarely taken with wooing, even if adorned with exquisite words.
