Chapter 47 - Kitty

“This is hopeless!” I exclaimed. I was in the library with Jude, Blake, Jonah, and Aiden.

We were going through Xavior's Facebook page on one of the school computers. Aiden had come up with the idea that one of Xavior’s status updates might give us an idea of other girls he had raped. So far nothing had come up.

I am still surprised that we managed to be able to view Xavior’s Facebook page on the school computer. Usually, almost every website is blocked. Jonah managed to do some weird computer thing that allowed us to view the page. I had never realised that he was so good with computers.

“Be patience, Katarina,” Aiden told me.

“Katarina is right,” Blake agreed. “We are getting nowhere with this. Anyway, do any of you know what going to happen to all the people that were part of Austin’s cheating scam?”

“According to Millie, they are being sent to panel,” I told him.

Blake’s eyes lit up excitedly. “Good,” he chirped.

“You look way too happy about this Blake,” Jonah told him concerned.

“After what I went through because of Austin, I have every right to be glad that they are getting what they deserve,” Blake replied boldly.

“He has a point,” Jude said with a smile.

“Well according to Millie, both Angelica and Alesia are scared for their parent’s reactions,” I told him.

“Wait,” Aiden said interrupting me. “Are you sure Alesia said, parents?”

I turned to look at him. “Yes, I’m sure of it. Why does it matter?” I asked him.

“It doesn’t matter,” Aiden replied not looking at me.

“Seriously Aiden,” Jude said as he nudged the taller boy. “What do you know that we don’t?”

“It doesn’t matter Jude,” Aiden told him firmly. “We need to forces on helping Tabitha.”

“Aiden is right,” Jonah said. “We need a new plan on how we are going to deal with Xavior.”

“I have an idea,” Jude told us. “But I don’t think you're going to like it.”

“What is it?” I asked curiously.

“We ask George,” Jude told us.

“No way,” I argued.

“Jude is right,” Jonah said. “If anyone knows who else Xavior has abused it would be George.”

“Also, Xavior ditched George as a friend, it is likely that he wants some kind of revenge,” Jude added.

“I'm not talking to George,” Blake told us firmly.

“Why not Blake?” Jonah argued.

Blake glared at Jonah. “Have you forgotten how cruel George was to me before he knew I was gay?” Blake reminded us. “Just imagine how bad it will be now that he does know.”

“Calm down Blake,” Aiden told him. “If he makes even one homophobic comment to you, we're all leaving.”

“Are we really doing this?” I asked nervously.

“We have no other choice.” Aiden reminded me.

We turned off the computer and went to find George.

It took us about fifteen minutes, but we eventually found George at the back of the library. The most surprising thing of all. He was studying. I guess that's what happens when all your friends ditch you.

“George,” Jude said as we stood in a group behind him. “Can we talk to you?”

George turned around to face us. He ignored Jude and looked over at Blake.

“Hey Blake, is true that you're gay?” he asked smiling.

Blake visually tensed up. “Yes,” he whispered.

“If you make any homophobic comments to him I will punch you,” Aiden warned George.

“I wasn’t going to,” George said. “My older sister is a lesbian, and I know how much hate she gets for it.”

“Then why did you ask?” Blake asked nervously.

“I just wanted to tell you that I respect your lifestyle,” George told him. “And not to let the people who don’t respect your lifestyle tell you how you should feel.”

“Thank you, George,” Blake said.

George looked over to me. “I’m sorry Katarina for the prank I pulled on you last year,” he told me. “It was Angelica’s idea, and Grace thought it would be hilarious. I knew it was cruel and wrong to play with your feelings like that. I just couldn’t stand up to Grace or Angelica. You probably think I'm a massive jerk now, and you’re right.”

“Thank you for actually apologising,” I told him. “I still believe that you’re an asshole, but at least, you can actually admit it.”

George smiled and turned to Jude. “I’m sorry for all those bad things I said about your band. I think you guys are really talented.”

“Thank you,” Jude answered nervously.

“When is the next time that Solar Flare plays?” George asked.

“Two weeks from now, at a lunchtime concert,” Jude answered. “And we're now called Frozen Miracle.”

“I’ll be there,” George told Jude. He looked over at Jonah. “I’m sorry for all the awful stuff I did to you. It was wrong, and I shouldn’t have done any of them.”

Jonah nodded in response. “We can’t change what happened.”

George looked at Aiden. “I’m sorry for what I did to Maya,” he told him. “I shouldn’t have treated her that why.”

Aiden didn’t say anything.

“What did you want from me?” he asked us.

“We need to talk to you about Xavior,” Jude told him.

“Xavior used to be my friend, but he is not anymore,” George told us. “I don’t know what else I could say to you.”

“Do you know anything about Tabitha and Xavior?” I asked nervously.

“I know that they slept together, but I'm not sure what that has to do with anything,” George told us.

“So you think Tabitha should be all right with having been raped by Xavior,” Aiden hissed angrily.

“Calm down Aiden,” Jonah told him as he grabbed Aiden's arm preventing him from doing anything stupid.

George turned pale. “What do you mean that Xavior raped Tabitha?”

“Exactly what he said,” Blake told George. “Xavior drugged and raped Tabitha at that party.”

“That bastard!” George exclaimed angrily.

“I thought you knew what had happened,” Jude said confused.

“I knew they had slept together because both Grace and Xavior had told me that.”

George told us. “I just thought it was concessional. I going to kill Xavior.” George angrily climbed to his feet, but Jude quickly pushed him back down again.

“No!” Jude exclaimed.

“Tell me why I shouldn’t?!” George snapped at Jude. “He took advance of Tabitha.”

“We can’t confront Xavior yet,” Jude told George. “We want Xavior to be trailed and convicted for rape. That is less likely to happen if he figures out that we know. Then he will be able to threaten all the other girls into silence.”

“We need to find his other victims,” Blake added. “Can you help us?”

“I will keep quiet for Tabitha sakes. After what she has gone through this year she deserves to be able to see Xavior behind bars,” George told us. “Back when I was still friends with Xavior, he bragged about sleeping with a girl called Lucy Johnson. She's a year ten. I didn’t think much about it at the time, but it is likely that he raped her as well.”

“Thank you,” I told him. “You have really helped us.”

“If that is all; I need to go and find Tabitha,” George told me.

“Why?” Blake asked.

“To apologise for all the things, I said to her about sleeping with Xavior.” George told us. “I may be a terrible person and boyfriend, but even I know sexual assault is wrong.”
