David.
I walked out of my bedroom at 7:53 am. I looked up too see my mother decarcerating a Christmas tree.
“Why are you decorating that stupid tree again?”
“It’s almost Christmas time dear!!”
“Mom. You know I hate Christmas. And it’s “Christmas Eve” Why would you do it in the living room? Exactly in my face.”
I ran out of the house. It was snowing outside. I really didn’t care at this point. I kept running. I ran and made it to a kinda sturdy tree.
I looked at it. I felt tears in my eyes, but I held them back. I looked at the tree a little longer and closed my eyes.
“Hey David. I miss you. What’s it like up there? Are you ok? I hope you are. I miss you a lot.”
If y’all didn’t know. David is ,y best friend, we’ll…, was, my best friend. He died at this tree on Christmas Eve about 5 years ago.
I ran back too the house and my mother was playing Christmas music. I walked over too her phone. Picked it up. And threw it on the ground breaking it.
“Turn that shit off!!”
“Young lady this is not your hou!-“
I slammed my bedroom door locking it so I wouldn’t hear her voice. I opened my closet trying to find something to wear.
I put on blue shorts and a brown short sleeve shirt. I figured it would be better for me to freeze than anything.
I threw my satule on and ran out of the house and made my way to the city. It was busy. As usual. I walked around and found a crystal store.
[Vanilla’s crystal store]
This place is always empty. Maybe I could fine some peace in here. No one really likes crystals anyways.
I walked in and a Beautiful girl looked at me and gave me a soft smile.
My eyes widened. And I looked at her.
She had on a brown long sleeved shirt on with black jeans. Black converses. Her beautiful black hair was tied nicely back in a low ponytail. And a black jacket tied around her waist.
“Hi! Welcome to Vanilla’s crystal store! I’m Gwen. Just come get me is you need any help.”
She was sitting at the cash register reading a book. She looked beautiful.
I shook my head and looked at her again.
“Thank you…” I muttered under myself.
I walked around into kinda the back area. That’s where most of the beautiful crystals are. I looked at them.
There where these red ones, a few blue ones, and some green ones on the end. I looked at the green ones. They cought my eye the most.
I looked at the name on them.
[Emerald]
I gasped and stepped back. Emeralds. They where David’s favorite crystal. I started crying and dropped my bag.
Gwen ran over too me. I had my hands over my eyes crying. Gwen stepped twords me and put her hand on me.
I jumped back scared and she saw the fear in my eyes. She stepped back respecting my space.
“Are you ok ma’am?”
I wiped my eyes and nodded, trying to fake it. I saw out of the corner of my eye that Gwen held her arms out and I looked ay her.
“I know I don’t really know you. But…Want a hug?”
I looked at her and ran into her arms crying. I was about 3 to 2 inches taller than her.
“Your freezing. Are you ok? It’s snowing outside.”
“Yea I’m fine. It’s just snow. We get it a lot.”
“Your ganna freeze out there tho ms uhh, my apologies, can I have your name?”
“Sarah.”
I could feel her heart on my chest. Hear.omg a hear beat calmed me. I calmed down a wiped my face stepping back.
“May I ask why your crying Sarah?”
“Oh. It’s nothing. I just saw the emeralds and it brought back a flashback of my friends. But he’s dead. There’s no use.”
“Oh. I’m sorry about your friend. Why don’t we go to the cafe down the street? My treat!”
I looked at her. She had a smile on her face. I smiled back and picked my bag up.
“Sure. I’d love that.”
“Grate!! Let me just grab my book and we can go! Also, I thank I brought a spare jacket. Do you want to wear it?”
“Oh no i don’t wanna make you uncomfortable at all Gwen-“
“No it’s fine! It’s freezing outside! I don’t want you too freeze to death.”
She went behind the counter and grabbed her other jacket and put a book mark in her book. It’s was a small little paper heart book mark, Cute.
She gave me the jacket and I put it on. I love the smell of it. It made me feel safe somehow. Knowing I was with someone.
We walked out of the store and she flipped the sign saying they where closed. We walked at she looked at me with her phone in my hand.
“So do you listen to music?”
“Yea. I love music.”
“Cool! Wanna listen to music with me? We can share my headphones.”
“Are you sure? You don’t have t-“
She put the headphone in my ear befor I could finish. We walked and made it into the cafe and I saw David’s mother working there.
Oh shit I don’t like this.
“Hi Sarah.” She said too me.
I really…don’t like this.
