Being a nurse during a war was never a fun job, but it was something that had to be done. These men were doing all they could to protect the country and I wanted to help in any way I could. So, I was willing to do this job. I have seen a lot of different injuries come into the tent. Some were grave and we just had to make the men comfortable before they died, while others were fixable. It was a hard job to do. Some days it was hard to keep my emotions out of the job.
I had been here for six months when he came in. He was injured badly to the point that we didn’t know if he was going to make it. I was told he was shot down from his horse during a charge and nearly trampled by the horses. So, he was in bad shape, but I could see that he was an attractive man. I learned his name was Captain Oliver Nash.
A doctor immediately began to work on him, and I aided him. I was scared he was not going to make it, but sure enough the doctor could stabilize him.
“Okay Sarah. I need you to keep an eye on him. I’m certain he will make it, but we still need to keep an eye on his injuries. Alert me if anything changes at all.” The doctor said cleaning up from his work.
“Alright, Doctor. I can do that.” The doctor nodded and walked away.
Once again, I looked over at the man I would oversee. Now that I had cleaned up his wounds and face, I could see his face more clearly. He was a very attractive man. Very swoon worthy. There was a gentleness to him. Most of the soldiers I treated were very rough and had a demanding aura about them, but he was different.
There were still a few more minor wounds that needed to be cleaned. So, I set to work and began to clean them and patch them up. Humming as I worked. At one point, I began to speak to him.
“Well Captain Nash. You gave us quite the scare.” Of course, I knew he was unconscious, but I knew talking to him would be a good thing. “The doctor thought your injuries were more serious than they were. You were lucky the horses just barely missed you. Once your bullet wound and leg heals up, you will be good as new.”
He was going to be in the infirmary for a long time with that leg of his, but he was going to be all right.
“A man like you must have a wife waiting back home for you. Even more reason to heal up to go see her. Perhaps the two of you have a few children together by now. Those children need their daddy to come home.” I rambled as I continued to work.
I frowned when mentioning someone back home. I used to have someone waiting for me, but things did not end well with us. He never liked the idea of me leaving to work the war. He said women weren’t made for war. I said my goodbyes and told him I would send him letters. Two months into my stay here, he sent me a letter. He told me to stop sending letters and that he had moved on without me. He couldn’t wait for me to come back. He admitted that he believed I would be dead before my term was over. The letter upset me a lot, but I went on and pretended that I didn’t care.
“You’re going to be all healed up in no time. Then you can go home to that family of yours.” I continued to ramble on as I checked each of his injuries. I tried to imagine what his life was like back at home. He was a very attractive man. His wife must be truly stunning. Their children are probably beautiful.
This is how I passed my time. Imagining what the men’s lives were like. It was a way to get me through each bleak day. It also helped me forget the fact that I had no one waiting for me at home. When I was done here, I would return to an empty house. Which was sad to think about.
The days passed like this. Captain Nash was still out but his injuries were improving day by day. He would be able to return to duty in maybe two or three months. For now, we just needed to wait for him to wake up. We were keeping him sedated so that he would not feel much pain, since we didn’t have enough pain meds to make sure that he would be comfortable. It was just easier if they were out like this.
“How is Captain Nash doing today?” The doctor asked as I was redressing the soldier’s wounds.
“It seems he’s doing well. His wounds are all healing very well. They should not cause him much pain now.” I explained as I taped the last bandage on.
The doctor was looking over Captain Nash’s vitals, “He will come off the sedatives today. So, when these ones wear off, don’t give him anymore. We will just give him some mild pain medication to keep him more comfortable.” He explained placing the clipboard back at the end of the bed.
“Alright sir, what should I do when he awakes?” Honestly the thought of this attractive man waking up, made me smile. I wanted nothing more than to be able to talk to him and find out more about his home life.
“I want you to ask him how he feels and adjust the meds accordingly. So please stick in this wing for the rest of the afternoon, not that it’s a problem for you. Keep an eye on him and I will come check on him later tonight.” After that, the doctor left me alone with the captain.
His sedatives were almost done, so I estimated he would wake up within the next two hours. It was very exciting.
“Did you hear that Captain Nash? You’re going to wake up today. How exciting is that?” I said looking over the unconscious man once more. His messy dark brown hair was adorable. His high cheek bones set him apart from the other men I have treated. I couldn’t wait to see him awake and coherent.
Once again, I found myself wondering about who was waiting back home for him. I had no doubt there was someone waiting for him. Why wouldn’t there be. The man was honestly the most attractive man to cross my paths while I have been here at war. Honestly, I was developing feelings for a man I had never even spoken to. I think my idea of him in my head is what was making me have feelings for him. I had imagined him to be a very sweet and caring man. I had to remind myself that he was only my patient and I couldn’t be thinking of him like this.
A few hours later, I was checking up on Captain Nash again. Checking his vitals and seeing if he was getting any closer to waking up. His vitals indicated he should be waking up anytime now. I was leaning over him, when I heard a voice below me.
“Am I in heaven?” He questioned looking right up at me, not missing my chest which was directly in front of his face.
My face went red and I pulled away, “No, this isn’t heaven Captain Nash. You’re in the infirmary. You were injured in a charge. Knocked off your horse and nearly trampled by the rest. We saved you just in time.” I explained trying to avoid his eyes.
“That’s what happened, makes sense. The last thing I remember was being on my horse headed towards the battle. My dreams have been filled with horses. Is that normal?” He asked with a smirk upon his face. The captain sure was a cheeky one.
“Totally normal, Captain Nash. Now do you feel any pain?” I asked moving over to prepare some pain medication for him.
“Call me Oliver, darling. I feel quite alright right now. There’s just a little pain in my leg, but everything else is a dull ache, angel.” He finished making me blush once again.
I turned to him, holding some medication for him. “Well here are some pain medications to help numb that feeling. Why did you call me angel, Oliver?”
“Because you were the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes, and you look like an absolute angel. So now you see why I thought I was in heaven.” This made me giggle.
“I suppose so.” He took the meds and water from my hand and downed them.
“What is your name nurse?” He asked handing me the empty cups.
Now that he was awake, I could see that he had these beautiful golden-brown eyes. Eyes that would surely show up in my dreams later. His voice was heavenly as well. So, deep and sophisticated.
“My name is Sarah and I have been tending your wounds since you first showed up.” His eyes seemed to be staring at me intensely.
Once again, I could see that Oliver was looking over my body, “I’m glad to have such a beautiful woman tending to me.”
Of course, I was blushing again. How could I not, when a man as attractive as Oliver was calling me beautiful. I mean some of the other soldiers have hit on me, but none of them got to me like Oliver had.
“Awe thanks Oliver.” I was still blushing. I was dying to know more about Oliver. “Do you have someone waiting at home for you?” I questioned trying to seem like I wasn’t too interested, but I was.
“No, I don’t have anyone waiting at home for me darling.” He answered while watching me attentively.
“You’re not married?” I questioned, not believing that someone like Oliver didn’t have anyone waiting for him.
He shook his head, “No, not married.”
“No, no one.”
This surprised me, “Really?”
“Yes, I went off to war on my own. Now darling, do you have anyone waiting at home for you?” He now asked me, catching me off guard.
I suddenly thought about him, “Oh I did, but not anymore.” I admitted embarrassed.
“What happened to the man?” He asked, sensing that there was more to it.
“We were together when I left to help with the war.” I frowned thinking about him, “A few months later he sent me a letter telling me he had moved on because he couldn’t wait for me. He also confessed to moving on before sending the letter. Then he told me that he didn’t think I would be coming home from the war.” I admitted sadly.
Oliver didn’t look happy at all. I was standing beside him, so he grabbed my hand and wound his fingers through mine. The gesture was so sweet and perfect.
“He’s an asshole, love. You don’t need a man like him. He’s what us soldiers would call a coward.” Oliver said grasping my hand a little tighter.
“Thank you, Oliver.” I smiled down at the handsome man. The man, that despite just meeting, seemed to be giving me butterflies.
“You’re welcome.” We stayed quiet for a few minutes, just staring into each other’s eyes. Unspoken attraction bubbling beneath the surface.
A voice broke us out of our trance, “Captain Nash, you’re finally awake.” The doctor said making Oliver let go of my hand. “How is our patient doing, Nurse Sarah?” The doctor questioned.
I was glad he hadn’t just noticed Oliver and I holding hands, “Captain Nash seems to be doing well. I gave him some pain medication. Now we just need to wait for him to heal.” I explained catching Oliver’s eye. He sent me a wink, making me blush. This man was deliberately hitting on me now.
“Oh good. Captain, your leg is healing well but it will be a few months until it will be completely healed. Until then, you will be spending a lot of time in the infirmary with Sarah here. She is going to help you get back up onto your feet.” He explained. “Do you mind helping him Sarah. You’re one of the only nurses here that have some background in physical therapy.”
I smiled, “That’s fine doctor. I don’t mind helping Captain Nash.” To be honest, I was starting to crush on the attractive captain.
“Thank you, now I must attend to other patients. Take good care of him Sarah.” He said before leaving me alone with Oliver.
I turned back to Oliver and smiled, “I hope you don’t mind spending more time with me, Oliver?” I stated with a giggle.
“Most definitely not. I would love to spend my time with such a gorgeous woman.” He stated with a smirk.
“Oh Oliver, are you always such a charmer?” Once again, he reached for my hand.
“Only with the right woman.” I was blushing deeply once again.
A month later, I was still treating Captain Nash. He was getting better, but we had a few setbacks two weeks ago when one of his wounds developed a minor infection. We had to post-pone the therapy for a little while, until it healed. But he’s been doing well with me. Also, he never fails to make me blush whenever I was in his presence. I had fallen hard for the captain.
“Are we ready to try some more therapy today?” I questioned as I entered his room. Oliver was sitting up and reading one of the books I had managed to pick up for him.
“Good morning Sarah. Did you sleep well?” Oliver asked while avoiding my question.
“Don’t avoid my question, captain. Your well-being means a lot to me.” I stated checking over all his vitals.
“I’m feeling fine today nurse, but you don’t look fine. Have you gotten any sleep?” He asked once again, reaching up to touch my face.
Truth be told, I was exhausted. I was tasked with the job of helping the doctors and other nurses with a group of five men, who came in gravely injured last night. We worked until the early hours of the morning to save them, but we could not.
“No, I didn’t Oliver. We had a group of men come in this morning, and we were severely understaffed at that moment. I worked all night and into the morning.” I confessed with a frown.
“Did they not make it?” Oliver inquired. In the time he had been here, he had learned the ins and outs of my job and how heartbreaking it really was.
I shook my head and let a tear slip down my cheek, “No.”
“Oh darling.” Oliver pulled me down to sit beside him in bed, while pulling me into his warm and comforting arms. “I’m so sorry. You did all you could.” He whispered into my hair while rubbing my back.
“I know I did, but it still feels like it wasn’t enough.” That sense of guilt that came with my job, was never something I could get over.
“Well darling, look at me. You saved me. Be proud of your efforts, because you work so hard.” I enjoyed being wrapped up in his arms. “You need some rest. How about you lay beside me and take a nap?”
I shook my head, “I can’t do that Oliver. I’m on duty.”
“Your shift was supposed to end last night, and it didn’t. It’s 10 am darling and you look like you are about to pass out. Your only job today, is to take care of me. So please take a nap with me?” He asked again, pulling me into bed with him.
“What if someone walks in and catches me slacking off?” I questioned even though I was already getting comfortable beside him in bed.
“Don’t worry about that love. Besides, you know you’re the only one who comes into my room during the day. Please rest your eyes, beautiful.” I was already drifting off as he said that. I was completely tired now.
“Oh dear, you’re a truly beautiful woman.” I heard Oliver say.
Who was he talking to?
Surely there wasn’t another nurse tending to him while I was asleep. That would be embarrassing for me. I didn’t want to be caught off guard and lose my job because of a moment of weakness and exhaustion. I knew very well what I was getting into, when I signed up for this.
I opened my eyes to find Oliver staring at me with pure adoration, “Who were you talking to?” I questioned while stretching my limbs out a little.
Oliver smiled, “I was talking to you darling, but I didn’t realize you were awake.” He admitted modestly.
“Oh Oliver, do you really think I’m beautiful?” I questioned while sitting up in bed.
“Of course, I do. I honestly thought you were an angel the first time I saw you, love.” His words had me blushing.
“Thank you. That’s so sweet of you, captain.” I answered taken off guard when Oliver pulled me into his arms. I couldn’t lie, I loved the position.
“Please tell me you feel the connection too.”
I smiled, “Yes I do, but I was trying not to acknowledge it. We’re not allowed to fall for our patients.”
Once again, he pulled me even closer, “I don’t care about the rules, darling.” His lips were only inches from my own. I could practically feel the electricity radiating off his body.
“Mhmm, kiss me Oliver.” I whispered, not caring that we could possibly get caught doing this.
“Your wish is my command, Nurse.” Oliver’s lips quickly closed on mine, giving me one of the best kisses I had ever received in my whole life. The kiss grew deeper and I let him lose a bit of control with me. He had pulled me into his lap and was holding me closely as we continued to kiss. I was being careful of his leg the whole time.
Kissing Oliver was unlike anything else and I wanted to do it all day long. Oliver proved he wanted to as well as he held me closer and deepened the kiss. I moaned softly into his mouth, making him smile into the kisses. In no time, his tongue had met mine in a sexy battle. While we made out, I started to rub against him. He was getting hard from what we were doing, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t getting aroused myself.
Oliver pulled away from my mouth to catch his breath, “Oh love, this is absolutely wonderful.” He mumbled before moving to kiss my exposed neck, which made me whimper in delight. His arms were wound around me, and I never wanted to leave the comfort of them. His arms felt like home.
Everything felt so perfect, but when I heard footsteps coming towards the room, I jumped off Oliver and fell to the floor hard. Oliver looked over the side of the bed in worry. I quickly jumped up and straightened myself out to only find Nurse Sandra at the door.
“Ah clumsy as ever, Sarah.” She spoke in her annoying nasally voice. She flipped her unnatural blonde hair and waltzed in, stopping at Oliver’s side.
I just rolled my eyes at her. “What are you doing here Sandra, you know you are stationed on the other side of the base.” The way she was looking at Oliver made me realize why she was there. She wanted my charge.
“I talked to Dr. Samson and he agreed that you and I could switch positions.”
“Oh no, that’s not happening. Dr. Marron wants me to be with Captain Nash.”
“Nonsense, it’s only fair that we switch positions from time to time. I’m pretty sure Captain Nash is getting tired of you.”
“Negative,” Oliver said setting her in her place.
“Do you have any physical therapy training?” This woman was not going to get her way.
Her face went red in embarrassment. “Well no, but who needs that?”
“Sandra, Oliver is in his physical therapy stage and I’m supposed to be the one administering it.”
This caused a huge frown to form on her heavily made up face. Who wears makeup during a war?
“Fine, you win Sarah.” She grumbled before running out of the room, but not before slamming the door behind herself.
Her attitude was highly annoying, and I couldn’t stand her. She was always trying to worm her way onto the men I treated, simply because she found them attractive.
Oliver cleared his throat bringing me out of my thoughts, “So does my physical therapy involve you and I in my bed?”
His words had me blushing, “Oh Captain Nash, that would be highly inappropriate.”
“I don’t care, love, I really want to have you in my bed.”
Oh dear, this man was going to make me faint. Before anyone else could interrupt, I went over and locked the door. If he was serious about this, so was I.
I turned around to face a smirking captain. “If that’s what you want.”
“It is.” He spoke right before I nearly jumped him, allowing him to wrap his arms around me and continue kissing me like he had before we were interrupted. This time, things progressed much quicker than before.
Oliver was quick to get me out of my uniform, leaving me naked in his lap. I quickly pulled off his gown as well to reveal his sexy body. He was aroused, which was evident by the hard length that had just been revealed to me. I wanted him even more after that.
“Darling, please don’t make me wait.” He begged moving me down on his cock.
I whimpered when I felt it at my entrance, I sank down on his cock quickly because I didn’t want to wait another second. The feeling of him filling me up was so amazing. He was 100 times better than my ex. Despite him being in a cast, he could move and help intensify the feeling so much more.
My hands gripped his shoulders as I moved up and down on his thick cock. I was well lubricated for him, which only made everything so much better for us.
“Oh Oliver, this is so good.” I moaned as he helped me move on his cock. The pleasure I was receiving from him was amazing.
“Darling, keep your voice down. We don’t want anyone interrupting now, do we?” Oliver whispered while nipping at my neck.
“Mhmm, no we don’t.” I moaned softly gripping at his shoulders. He was making me feel so good. I never wanted it to end.
Never in a million years did I believe I would be doing this with one of my patients while a war raged on outside. He made me forget all the horrible things in the world and focus solely on him.
He held onto me as I rode his wonderful cock. I hadn’t experienced pleasure like this in a long time. Oliver was excellent with everything he did, and he knew it. His mouth covered mine as I went to let out another moan. We were lost in our own world at this point.
“You feel so good, baby!” He moaned into my ear as he tightened his grip on my waist as we moved in sync.
I don’t think anything could interrupt our blessed moment. It was perfect in every way. Both of us soared closer to our climaxes as we held each other. I moaned into his shoulder as the blinding pleasure took over my body.
Oliver was honestly perfect. “I’m going to cum.” I mumbled, lightly biting his shoulder as my walls contracted around him.
“Cum for me, darling. Let me feel how good I make you feel.” His sensual words were enough to push me over the edge of my orgasm. I bit down harder as the white-hot pleasure overtook my body, while he continued little thrusts inside of me.
“Yes, this is perfect. I’m going to cum too.” He answered as he stopped thrusting and his cock jerked inside of me. In seconds his hot seed had filled me to the brim. He was biting his lip, as to not cry out and alert people of what was happening.
We rode our orgasms away and fell into each other. I was still being careful not to hurt him any more than he was already hurt. He pulled me close and laid us down.
“That was glorious.” He said with the most satisfied smile upon his handsome face.
“I agree. I’ve never cum that easily.” I admitted as a light blush graced my face.
Oliver peered down at me, with the smile still on his face. He leaned down and kissed my forehead. “I’m glad I could make you feel that way.” He was so content with himself.
Oliver and I continued to get to know each other and when we were alone, we would show our feelings for each other. We were quite good at hiding it from others, but I always longed to be in his arms when I had to be away from him.
The war continued on, but it was waning, and everyone knew it. We were winning, but we were still losing men each and every day and that was the hardest thing for me to cope with. It reminded me that Oliver was once on the brink of death and if he had died, our relationship would have never bloomed. I would have never met someone who loved me the way I needed to be love. I wouldn’t have had the will to keep doing my job here if I hadn’t met him. I was grateful each and every day that I got to spend with him.
He was healing really well, and the physical therapy was really helping him heal even quicker. Last week, he was able to get up and walk a little, which he had been dying to do since he woke up. It would take some time for him to regain the muscle to walk like he used to, but he would get there and that’s what made me proud. The broken bones healed, and the casts were already off, so moving was that much easier for him.
Today, we were doing some more exercises to help him become more mobile. It was going well.
“Sarah, can you tell me something?” He asked as he sat down, taking a break from the tiring exercises.
“Yes, you can ask me anything?” I was standing in front of him when he grabbed my waist and pulled me into his lap. “Oliver, I don’t think me sitting on you is going to help your recovery.”
“Shhh, it is. Don’t you worry.” He kissed my forehead. “Now tell me, you spoke about your ex a while ago. Did you two live together back at home?”
Honestly, I had been dreading going home once the war was over because I didn’t know where I would go. My ex and I did live together, and he said he was taking the house for him and his new lover. Although he said he would store my stuff for me, I didn’t know if he really would. I don’t even think his new lover knew he had a girlfriend before they started courting.
“Yes, we did.” I admitted, feeling a little shy. I honestly hated talking or thinking about my ex because he broke my heart while I was dealing with a war over here.
“So, what will happen when you go home?”
I shrugged. “I really don’t know. He claims he has stored my belongings away but even then; I don’t know where I will go once I get home. I don’t have many friends and the ones I do, are happily married and I wouldn’t want to intrude on their home like that. I guess I will find something when I get home.”
Oliver frowned. “No darling, how about you come and stay with me?”
This made my heart speed up. “I couldn’t possibly intrude on your home either.”
“Please. I want you to.” He was quiet for a second. “Sarah, I’m in love with you and I know this seems way too soon, but I feel this way about you, and I need you to know about it. I love you and I want you to move in with me when we return home. I don’t ever want to be without you.”
“Oh Oliver, I love you too! I would love to move in with you, but only if that’s okay with you.”
“It’s more than okay, love. It’s perfect and you just made me the happiest man alive.” He pulled me into a passionate kiss, that I completely got lost in. The world had faded around us again.
That was until a throat was cleared and I sprung away from Oliver, landing hard on the ground in front of him. I looked up to find Doctor Marron standing there, with a stoic look upon his face.
“Oh, Dr. Marron. What brings you here?” I jumped from the floor and stood straight up.
“I came to check up on the patient, but it seems he’s in very good care here with you.” He said before cracking a smile.
The smile had me relieved, but I knew this was still a very bad thing. I was just caught with one of my patients and I didn’t know if I would be punished for my actions. I didn’t want to be taken away from Oliver.
“Uh yes. I’m sorry you had to catch us like that.” I mumbled, looking down towards the floor.
Dr. Marron just laughed. “Nonsense, darling. I have walked in on worse. You’re not the first nurse to hook up with a patient here.”
“Oh, well then I feel better.”
“Now, how are you feeling, Captain Nash?” He now asked Oliver.
“I’m feeling great. Sarah has been really helpful in my recovery and I owe it all to her.”
A blush covered my cheeks when he said that. His words were so kind and heartfelt that I actually wanted to cry happy tears.
“Sarah is the best one we have here. I’m sad to lose her.”
“Wait, what do you mean, Dr. Marron?” Were they firing me?
“Don’t look so upset, hun. Your time here is almost up. You have served your two years well.”
Oh. I forgot that our terms ended after two years. I had been so wrapped up in Oliver for the last two months that the thought hadn’t even come to me.
“Oh. Who’s going to take care of Captain Nash when I go.” Oliver took my hand into his and pulled me close.
“You will, darling. Captain Nash has been granted an Honorable Discharge. He’s going home with you.” My sadness washed away, and I threw my arms around Oliver. This news was seriously amazing, and we get to celebrate it together.”
“Thank you for letting me know, Dr. Marron. I’m happy they granted it to me.”
“Of course, they would. You have done a lot for our country. Commander Jacobs was more than happy to grant it to you!”
Oliver was ecstatic and so was I. We were going to have the chance to have a life together and I didn’t have to worry about him going back to war. He was mine and we were going to make the best of our life.
Dr. Marron left us alone once again and I flung my arms around Oliver, holding onto him tightly.
“Did you know you could be discharged?” I questioned as we settled into each other again.
“I knew it was a possibility.” He kissed my neck. I had Dr. Marron assess me and my injuries and he determined I probably wouldn’t be much use on the battlefield anymore and I honestly don’t want to return to it either. So, he put in the request for an honorable discharge and I’m so happy it was granted. I just want to start my life with you.”
There was no way to describe how his words made me feel. “That’s wonderful. I’m so happy right now.” Oliver made me the happiest woman ever and I hoped he knew that.
Of course, we decided to celebrate our happiness and afterwards, we laid together, cuddled up in his bed. I felt completely safe in his arms and he knew that.
“Were you drafted into the war?” I questioned as I traced patterns on his bare skin.
“No, I joined willingly.” He admitted to me, while stroking my hair and trailing a hand down my back.
“Did you join because you had no one to keep you home?” I was interested in his decision to join.
“Yes, that’s one of the reasons. But I also wanted to do it. I wanted to serve my country and be a hero, even if the people I was saving didn’t know who I was. It was important for me to do something to make a difference in the world in some kind of way.”
“You’re a brave man, Captain Nash.” I stated while pressing a light kiss onto his chest.
“So why did you become a nurse for the war?” He now asked, pulling me into his body.
“Well I was already a nurse before the war. There was a call for hospital personnel, and I decided to do it. I felt like it was something that I needed to do. I applied and was accepted in two weeks and then shipped out here. There are days where I regret doing it, but I don’t really. I help men, I save men and that means a lot to me. To be able to mend someone back to full health so they can return to their families makes me happy. Also, I would have never met you if I didn’t apply.”
“You’re brave as well, Sarah. You see a lot of battered men day in and day out, and I’ve only seen you break down once.”
“Oh I have broken down many times here, but you need to have nerves of steel when working here.”
“You’re still a very brave woman and anyone would break down when they see what you see day after day.” He kissed my forehead and held me close. It felt so nice to be loved the way he loved me.
It was only a couple weeks later, when Oliver and I were on our way back home. It was exciting to think I was starting a new life with the man I’d fallen in love with while serving the war. He was absolutely perfect, and I couldn’t believe he was all mine.
The two of us, were off the plan, and in a car headed for his home. My nerves had kicked up a bit, simply because starting something new was always a nerve-wrecking thing but also because I knew I was completely in love with this man. We’d only known each other for a few months now, but I knew he was the one.
“Are you sure you want me to live with you, Oliver?” I asked as I fidgeted in my seat. Things were really about to change.
“Of course I am, Sarah. I love you and I couldn’t imagine my life without you.” His words were so sweet.
I took his hand and brought it to my mouth to kiss. “I love you too.” The most gorgeous smile graced his handsome face. His brown curls were wildly sexy upon his head.
“How big is your house?”
“Big enough for us, hun.”
I rolled my eyes. “No, how many bedrooms do you have?”
“Oh, I have 4 bedrooms in the house. Why? Did you want to invite friends over.”
I giggled. “Something like that.”
Half an hour later, we pulled up in front of a gorgeous country-style home. It was bigger than I expected but honestly perfect. He could tell by the way I stared up at the house, that I was very impressed.
“I take it, you like the house?” He questioned as we parked.
“I love the house. I want to see the inside.” I was like a little kid on Christmas Morning at this point.
“Come on then, let me show you around!”
I followed Oliver out of the car and up to the house. He took my hand in his after he unlocked the front door. It was even better on the inside. It was everything I could have ever dreamed of for a home. I was immediately in love.
“Oliver, your house is perfect!”
“I’m so glad you like it. Would you like to see the bedrooms?”
“Of course.” Oliver pulled me into a kiss before leading me up the stairs to the bedrooms. He showed me the master bedroom, then led me into the three extra rooms we now had.
When we were in the last room, I took a seat on the bed and smile at my surroundings. Now was the best time to tell him.
“These bedrooms seem perfect for our future children.” I mentioned with a smile on my face.
“Hmmm, yes it will.” He stopped and turned to me. “That’s a peculiar thing to say, Sarah.”
“Huh, why would it be. We need bedrooms for our children, don’t we?”
“Are you saying what I think you’re saying?”
“What? That I’m expecting your child. Yes.”
Oliver’s eyes grew wide with excitement and happiness. He pulled me from the bed and hugged me close. “Oh my god, we’re really having a child?”
Tears had begun to fall down my face.
“Why are you crying honey?” Oliver had set me down on my feet and wiped my tears away.
“Because I’m so happy and I didn’t know how you would react.”
“Oh, hun. I love it. We’re going to be a family.” Suddenly he dropped to one knee in front of me. “Will you marry me, Sarah?” He pulled a simple ring from his pocket.
“Yes! Oh my god, yes Oliver!” He slid the ring on my finger, and I pulled him up into a passionate kiss. This day really turned out to be the most unexpected day.
“I love you, Sarah. I’m so happy I get to have a life with you!”
“I love you too, my Oliver. We’re going to have a beautiful life!” He kissed my lips before sinking down to his knees in front of me and cupping my flat tummy.
“Hey little baby. I know you’re really small in there and probably can’t hear me, but I love you and your mommy.” He pressed a sweet kiss to my stomach and looked up into my eyes.
His golden-brown eyes were gorgeous and is wild curls were so soft. I was completely in love with this man. I was grateful I had saved his life and grateful we’d made a connection. I too sunk to my knees and pulled him into a sweet kiss, pouring all of my love into it. Oliver and I were meant for each other.
