Chapter 8

The front door slammed loud behind Fluff and me. I took a moment to straighten myself out and tighten the leash on Fluff’s collar. It was currently Friday afternoon and I was bored out of my mind.

I haven’t seen Sebastian since Monday afternoon when he took me out for dinner and almost got caught by my mum dropping me home. We’d been texting and sometimes even calling late at night, but it wasn’t the same as seeing each other in person. We hadn’t made any recent plans, but I was hoping we’d see each other sooner rather than later.

Just as I was setting my music, Fluff started rapidly barking before tugging hard on the leash. I had to let go otherwise she would’ve pulled my arm out of my socket. I looked up to scold her, but my eyes went wide as I took in the view.

Sebastian was bent over with a golden retriever going crazy in his arms. Fluff’s hair was flying in the wind with every belly rub he was giving her. Hastily, I straightened my shirt out and tightened my pony tail before walking over to the pair. It looked as if they liked each other more than they liked me.

I placed my hands on my hips before clearing my throat. The two of them stopped before looking up at me guiltily. It seemed as though Sebastian became hotter every time I saw him and the pout he was sporting made my eyes go directly to hips plump lips.

It was only when Fluff rolled over that both of their facades were broken. Fluff looked up at me happily, with her tongue sticking out of her mouth when Sebastian’s pout turned into a large smile. He stood up straight before grasping the back of my neck and learning in for a deep kiss.

I blinked when he pulled back, Sebastian laughing at my dazed self. “Not that I don’t like the surprise, but what are you doing here?” I asked once I’d successfully recovered.

“Why? Can’t I come see my girl unannounced?” He asked me, while bending down to scratch behind Fluff’s ears.

I ignored his question, because he already knew the answer to it. My mother wasn’t going to find out about Sebastian until I was at least eighteen, she would literally murder me. He was lucky she was finishing up some paper work and was held back.

“Come on, let’s take the dog for a walk. Oh, you can come too Fluff,” I joked. Sebastian pinched my ass and in return I slapped his arm. He quickly pulled me against him, our lips mere centimetres apart.

“Baby, you know I’m the only one who does the punishing in this relationship,” his husky voice stated. “And you still have two left.” I shivered and audible gulped when his smirk grew. He pecked my lips before playfully pushing me away.

“How was your week?” I asked, as we walked hand in hand. His fingers brushed mine before I intertwined our fingers. He gave me a light squeeze, pulling our hands closer to him. I shuffled closer, liking the feel of his body next to mine.

“Lonely, I missed you,” he pouted. A shook my head playfully and chuckled. I went on my tippy toes before ruffling his gorgeous hair. He chuckled, shaking me off and swooped down to kiss me. I was so lost in his presence that I hadn’t noticed I’d let go of the leash.

Once Fluff herself had realised she was no longer attached to me, she bolted. I only realised when I heard her feet patter against the pavement and a little growl echo from down the road. I hastily pulled my lips from Sebastian, noticing my dog was nowhere to be seen. “Crap!” I muttered.

I pulled Sebastian along, our hands still tightly together. When we finally spotted Fluff, Sebastian let go of my hand in order to sprint to catch up to her. He was way faster than me, seeing as I haven’t really exercised since 2008. I was heaving heavily, watching as Sebastian abruptly stopped. I finally caught up to the pair when my eyes went wide.

“Jax?” I asked, stunned.

Jax Wright, my scumbag of a cheating ex-boyfriend. Who did he cheat with you ask? No other than Lilly Welsh herself. I was completely heart broken, thinking that Jax was my first love, but over the years I’d come to realise that I never really liked him all that much. I watched as he became the school’s golden boy. Football captain and in the popular group. I sometimes wondered how I, or Lilly were even up to his standards. But now I knew that these would be the best four years of his life.

“Hey Maze,” he said casually, bending down to pat Fluff behind her ears. She never liked him, which I should’ve taken as a sign, but even Fluff couldn’t say no to an ear scratch. I looked over to Sebastian, his face blank, but at least he didn’t look tense. “How have you been gorgeous?” He winked at me.

That was when I saw Sebastian tense, and I quickly wrapped our hands together. “What do you want Jax?” I asked, annoyed. A large smirk crossed his face before his eyes drew to my tense boyfriend.

“He your boyfriend?” He asked me, his eyes never leaving Sebastian. My man was not happy.

“I’m no boy,” Sebastian answered for me. His voice was stern and deep... and thigh clenching.

“Mmmm,” I mumbled in agreement, earning a firm squeeze to my ass.

I walked towards Jax, my face blank. Sebastian’s grip on my hand tightened, but I ignored it as I held my other hand out to Jax. “I’d like my dog back please,” I calmly asked, but leaving no room for arguing.

“Aw, but we were having such a good time. Weren’t we Fluff?” He asked, bending down to pat Fluff on the head, but she just growled at him. I couldn’t help but let out a little smirk, and I swear I heard Sebastian snort.

He eventually handed the leash back to me, his hand lingering longer than necessary. I knew what he was doing and there was no way I would ever take him back. If there was one thing I couldn’t stand, it was cheaters. At least Sebastian was never in a relationship with the girls he slept with, even if they did want more.

“I miss you,” Jax said, stepping closer. “Maybe we should catch up,” his eyes dropped to my arm before trailing its way up. I was about to knee him where the sun doesn’t shine but was quickly yanked behind Sebastian. He grabbed Jax by the collar of his shirt, Jax looking distraught.

“You need to get your filthy hands off my girl,” Sebastian growled, and I couldn’t help but bite my lip. This wasn’t the time to be turned on, I scolded myself. I was almost too focused on checking Sebastian out I almost forgot he was about to pummel my ex. Fluff was even stand next to Sebastian, growling at Jax. I think she had a little crush on him.

“You’re opening your legs for this prick?” Jax questioned, looking behind Sebastian at me. I could see the fear in his eyes, but this is Jax we are talking about. He’s stupid and arrogant. He doesn’t know how to pick his battles. I swear I saw Sebastian’s hands tighten around his collar.

I quickly placed my hand on Sebastian’s shoulder, before rubbing soothing circles into his skin. “Bash...” I started. I know he secretly likes it when I call him that. “He’s not worth is, come on baby,” I calmly soothed into his ear.

I watched as Sebastian let go of Jax’s shirt roughly before turning to me. I knew he was about to kiss me, to claim me, but instead I pulled him by the collar of his shirt and brought my lips to his first. He smirked into the kiss, knowing full well that I agreed with him. He left his hands roam my body before I pulled them away.

Jax stood by, watching. There was practically steam coming out of his ears. Shouldn’t have cheated on me then, I thought to myself. I sweetly smiled before pulling at my two troublemakers. It wasn’t until Jax wasn’t in sight that I spoke up to finally break the tension.

“He cheated on me,” I explained, looking down at the ground and Fluff’s wagging tail. She was all happy and goofy again, trying to tear my arm out of my socket as she sniffed literally everything.

“I don’t like him,” Sebastian grunted and couldn’t help but chuckle.

“Me either,” I said, playfully bumping my shoulder with his.

We walked hand in hand for a little bit, say nothing but enjoying each other’s presence. I could see the wheels turning in his head, knowing he had nothing to worry about. I wouldn’t stoop as low as too cheat on someone, let alone go back to said cheater.

“If we didn’t sleep together do you think we’d be together right now?” I curiously asked. I’ll admit that the thought had been running throw my head for a while now. I wondered if we’d ever have even talked after the party.

“Of course, don’t be stupid,” he grunted, before playfully pushing me with his shoulder. “You still bumped into me, and I found you attractive,” he explained. “It was so hot when you gave me attitude baby,” he huskily whispered in my ear. I bit my lip.

“Stop, not in public,” I scolded him. I was about to hit him in the arm again but remembered what he said about punishments.

“That’s not what you said last time,” he stated, and I couldn’t help but blush. It was his fault, I was too caught up in him to care. He just chuckled at my reaction before pulling me closer to him. I gave Sebastian Fluff’s leash, having enough of her yanking on my arm every twenty seconds. We made it to the dog park, a large field with obstacle course and where dogs were allowed off the leash. There were only a couple out, so I told Sebastian he could let go of Fluff’s leash.

“Lilly, that girl from Sunday, she wants you,” I said, frowning. I don’t really know what made me say it, maybe something to do with the whole Jax thing that happened. I think I wanted him to know that I felt the same way. I didn’t like being jealous, it made my heart hurt.

“Are you jealous baby?” He mocked me. I rolled my eyes, causing him to flick my nose. He did it every time. “You don’t have to be, I’m all yours,” he said, kissing my forehead. I mumble under my breath in response.

Sebastian suddenly stopped in his tracks, yanking my body towards him when I kept going. He gave me a long, slow passionate kiss, which I returned. “What was that for? I asked breathlessly.

“My friends are having a small party tomorrow night,” He explained against my lips. “I want you to meet them.”

“Are you going to be one of those boys who acts different around their friends?” I teased, pecking his lips. His hands gently trailed up and down my arms.

“No baby,” he said. I looked at him once more in the eyes, before leaning my head against his chest. One of his arms wrapped itself around my back, while the other came up to play with my hair. “But I want you to know, that you’re the only person I feel like I can be real with,” he whispered against my forehead.

I looked up at him with wide eyes, getting lost in his own. I nodded before leaning upwards for a meaningful kiss. “I feel the exact same way,” I whispered.
