Chapter 18

Page's POV,

We arrived in New York in no time. The place looked huge. I had never been to Manhattan before. I was a little nervous, but Levi took my hand and lead me to baggage claim. We got our bags and went out to find a taxi to take us to our hotel. "How are you feeling?" Levi asked me.

"Scared," I confessed. He looked at me funny.

"Why are you scared?" He asked me.

"I just don't know what I'm going to find," I said. We started to cross over a huge bridge and I could see the entire city from there. It was so big. How the hell was I ever going to find Spencer? I said to myself.

"Stop worrying so much," Levi said. "I'll just bet you he will be happy to see you." He said. I smiled over at him.

"Yeah, if I can find him," I said. We pulled up in front of our hotel. It was bigger then I thought and was just as pricey. I wanted Levi and I to have our own space so I got us a two bedroom suite.

"Wow Page this place looks great, but I would have been just as happy at a motel 6." He said. I started to laugh. We got all settled in our room and I walked out on to the huge balcony. I look out over the city. I felt like this was going to be a needle in a haystack trying to find Spencer. That's when I turned my head and I saw his face on a huge billboard. What the hell? I said to myself. On the billboard, he was standing there smiling with his arms crossed. He was the owner of the city's largest law firm. At the moment I just didn't know how big his empire actually was. He never really told me what his business really was, but I didn't except this. I couldn't take my eyes off of him. He looked so professional in the picture. Levi walked out to me.

"What are we looking at?" He asked me.

"It's him," I said. He followed my eyes.

"What's him?" He said. I pointed over to the billboard. Levi just looked at it.

"That's your Spencer?" He said. I nodded still looking. "Page, you didn't tell me that was your Spencer," Levi said. I looked over at him.

"You know him?" I said.

"I don't know him personally, but I know of him. You didn't tell me he was Spencer Allan." Levi said.

"Yes, I did," I said.

"But that doesn't mean I thought you meant that Spencer Allan." He said.

"How many damn Spencer Alan's are out there?" I said sounding like a crazy woman.

"Page, his family is one of the most powerful families in New York. He has a ton of enemies, But also as a ton of friends. No wonder he did what he did for you. I can't believe you don't know who he is. He is always on the news. I mean not him exactly, but his family and his company. Most of his clientele consists of mafia and gangsters. Not the most trusted people to be involved with." He said. "Page we are never going to find him. He is so protected." He went on to say. I just started to shake my head.

"What the hell are we going to do then?" I said.

"Hell, I've got no idea," Levi said. I heard him start to laugh to himself.

"What's so damn funny?" I asked.

"It's not funny. Are you sure that's the right, Spencer?" Levi said. I looked over at him.

"I promise you that's him," I said.

"You are one lucky girl. Page I don't even know where to start trying to find him. His company is not going to give you any answers. We are no one special." He said. I thought about things for a moment. I knew his cell number, but I haven't tried to call him not even once. He may have even changed his number for all I know, but I guess it was worth a shot. I took a deep breath and pulled my cell out and took a seat. Levi looked over at me. "What are you doing?" He asked me.

"I'm going to try and call his cell," I said.

"You have his number?" He said. I nodded at him and he just rolled his eyes. I found his name and pressed send. I waited and then just as I thought. The number had been disconnected. I took a deep breath and set my phone down.

"His number has been changed," I said looking over at Levi. He just smiled at me.

"Fuck it, let's go to his company and try to see if we can find out anything," Levi said. I agreed and we went back inside and got ready to go. We decided on the way over to act like we were college students trying to get an interview with Spencer. We both knew that would never work, but if we could get even a small amount of info. At least we would have something to go off of. We pulled up in front of one of the tallest buildings I had ever seen. I just shook my head. Levi, on the other hand, seemed just a little star struck. I just smiled at him.

"Are you ready to pull this off?" I asked him.

"Hell yeah, this just might be fun." He said. I wasn't having any kind of fun. I just wanted to see Spencer. We got out and walked inside. The first thing I saw was a huge reception desk.

"I guess we should start there," I said pointing at the desk. Levi smiled and just told me to follow his lead. We walked up and the woman behind the desk didn't even look up at us. Levi cleared his throat. She then took a look at us both.

"Can I help you?" She said.

"Yes ma' ma, My name is Levi and this is Page. We are here from NYC to have an interview with Mr. Spencer Alan." Levi said nice and calmly. I had to smile. She looked at Levi for a moment and then at me.

"You'll have to go to the twenty-seventh floor." She said. both Levi and I shot looks at each other.

"Thank you," Levi said and just as we started to head over to the elevator. The woman stopped us.

"Wait, you have to have badges before you can go." She said. We both stopped and turned back to her. Levi smiled at her and we returned to her desk. "I need to see both of your ID's please." She said. We got out our ID's and handed them over to her. I couldn't believe this was happening. She made copies and handed them back to us. She then them back over along with two badges. We said thank you and headed over to the elevators.

"I can't believe this worked," I said as the doors closed.

"I know right? Do you know what you're going to say?" Levi asked me.

"I guess I'll know when I see him," I said.

"Sounds good to me." He said. "Hey trust me. don't be too hard on him. If he does love you he did the right thing." Levi said. I looked over at him funny. I took a deep breath as the doors opened. There was security standing at the doors when we walked off.

"Badges please." The man asked. We both handed him over our badges and waited. He then handed them back and pointed over to a large set of glass doors. Levi said thank you and we headed in. The woman behind that desk told us to have a seat. I expected Spencer's office to be much larger than this. I said to myself while looking around.

"Miss Walker." The woman said behind the desk. I looked up at her and walked over to her. "Please go through that door. your friend ill have to wait here." I looked over at Levi who just shrugged his shoulders at me. I took a deep breath and headed inside. I closed the door behind me and came face to face with a man I didn't know.

"I'm sorry. I must be in the wrong place." I said. The very good looking young man just looked at me for a moment. He kind of reminded me a little of Spencer. He was in a business suit, but you could see tattoos. he was also very large like Spencer. He smiled at me.

"Miss Walker, my name is Josh Holdings. I'm Spencer's, right-hand man. What can I do for you today?" He asked me. I started to go into my story and he cut me off. "Stop with the bullshit Page I know who you are. What are you doing here" He said. I was taken aback.

"Excuse me?" I said. He just eyed me for a moment.

"You can't see him. He doesn't want to see you." He said. You have got to be fucking kidding me. Who the hell does this guy think he is? I said to myself.

"If you don't mind. I'd like to hear that from him." I said. He smiled at me. "Why are you smiling? who the hell do you think you are?" I asked him with my arms crossed. He cocked his head at me.

"Well if you knew who I was you sure in the hell wouldn't be talking to me the way you are." He said. That just pissed me off even more.

"Look here buddy I don't care who the hell you are. I came to see Spencer and guess what. I'm not leaving till I do." I said and poked him in the chest. I almost regretted it the minute I did it, but he just smiled even more.

"I like you Page, you have a great attitude. I can see why he likes you so much." He said. "I'm sorry Page I cant help you." He went on to say. I took a deep breath and just looked to the ground. "Listen, I shouldn't be saying this, but there is a huge charity event happening tonight. Spencer is making an appearance there. I know you have money so flash it around and you will get in." He said. I looked up at him and smiled. He was helping me.

"Thank you." I said. He smiled back at me. I started to leave.

"Hey, its a black tie affair. You need to look the part." He said. "And try not to be to obvious about it. Your going to have a hard time getting close to him." He said. I don't think I'm going to have a problem. He will notice me. I said to myself. I nodded at him and left.
