"How are you doing man?" Josh said.
"I'm alive," I said.
"No really man, how are you?" Josh asked again.
"It's been six months Josh and I still can't get her out of my head," I said.
"You know she is okay. We haven't stopped watching her. She is safe and seems to be happy." Josh said.
"I knew Richard would love her. She is pure and innocent just like Vicky." I said. "I knew she would be safe," I said.
"How's Rio?" He asked me.
"Hot, but quiet," I said.
"You know he got Vincent back right?" He said.
"Yes, I just hope he is good to Page as well," I said.
"How good?"Josh asked.
"I have no right to say anything about what happens with her life," I said.
"I understand man, but still she is the only woman you have ever loved and you let her go." He said.
"I will not interfere with her life again," I said and I meant what I said. I made a choice to stay away from her. I know in my heart that she doesn't understand, but I'm not the man for her. I will never be the man for her. I need for her to hate me while I sit here and love her. She needs to move on. The only way I can keep my promise is to be as far away from her as I can. I can never see her again or I will change my mind and fall at her feet. After I saw her at dinner that night. I knew in my heart that Richard would take care of her. I've known Richard for a very long time and I chose not to represent his family for a reason. We have a past that goes into my childhood that I hope Richard and Vincent never share with her. It was a hard trial on me to put Vincent away, but I had a job to do. If Richard ever accepts her into his family. She will be protected for life. She needs that family experience. Yes, they are criminals, but they will love her like family.
"When will you be home?" Josh asked me.
"I don't know, but not for a while," I said.
"It's to bad you had to leave Italy," Josh said.
"They had found me. I had to go." I said. "It was nice seeing some family. I spent a lot of time with my niece. She had missed me." I said.
"Yeah, those are the pictures they had circulating. Trying to find you. The ones with your niece." Josh said.
"I just need to stay away for now," I said.
"Well, they are in Russia. If you want to come home you can." Josh said.
"They must of went into hiding because of Vincent," I said. "She will love Russia," I said. I took a deep breath. I was sitting on the beach talking with Josh on the phone. I was alone and I kept it that way. I could have any woman I want here, but I choose to stay alone. I don't want to be touched right now. I've been doing my best to get over Page and move on. Josh thinks I need a woman to do that, but I've been down that road before and it doesn't work.
"I'll be home when I can Josh, but I'm not ready yet. Have you got the penthouse ready to sell yet?" I asked him.
"You've been sent all the details to your email. You also have some work issues that I emailed to you." Josh said.
"Perfect, I'll take care of it all. You just keep doing what you're doing and I'll be back soon." I said. We said our goodbyes and I went back to my drink.
That night we all met up in the dining room for dinner. I sat on one side of Richard and Vincent sat on his other side. Aiden and Abby were sitting next to me. They have calmed down some after I told them everything that has been going on. The only other people that know anything are Chris and Seth, but they are back in New York. Richard has agreed to let Aiden and Abby go home at the end of the week. Only because I wanted to spend some time with them. As soon as we are able to return to New York. I want to finish school and stay with Richard's family. That's the choice that I have made. After Aiden told me the whole story with Spencer. I just let it go. I let my heart rest. I knew there was no reason to try and find him. I just didn't have it in me to go through with it anymore.
My friends didn't completely understand my choices, but being my friends they tried there best to understand and still choose to be my friends. "Princess, Vincent and I have to go to my family's home tonight. You're going to stay here and spend some time with your friends." Richard informed me. I looked over at Vincent who was watching me intently. It was rather intimidating, but I knew he was thinking about me because I was thinking about him. We just kept smiling at each other. After dinner was done. Richard and Vincent headed out. We had both tried to see each other alone, but it kept failing. We both laughed as we said goodnight and they headed out. Abby, Aiden and I stayed up pretty late just talking and having a good time. I let them know what my plans were and they were happy about it. It was so good to see them. Aiden had tried a couple of times to get me to go home now, but I just wasn't able to do so yet.
Abby started to get tired and was ready to head off to bed. Aiden and I were in a game of chess. We told her good night and she left us to finish our game. "Are you really happy here?"Aiden asked me.
"Yes, Aiden I am. They are good people. I know they are criminals, but they are a family. A family that I have never had. They are good to me and take care of me. They all make me feel loved and wanted." I said.
"I can understand that Page, I've got no family. I take care of myself." Aiden said.
"I never knew Aiden. I'm sorry." I said.
"It's okay, most of the time I prefer it that way." He said. I got up and went to sit on the couch.
"I feel like I belong with them. I can't explain it, but I don't want the feeling to go away." I said. Aiden took a seat next to me on the couch.
"I get it Page. Besides I wouldn't be any kind of friend if I didn't back you up in your choices." Aiden said. "I need for you to know something Page." Aiden started to say. I looked up at him and he moved closer to me. "I care about you, Page. I have for a while now. Your different, your loving and understanding and very trusting. You're not like most women. I need you to know how I feel before I go back home." He moved closer to me and placed his hand on the side of my face. His lips came close to mine. "I love you Page." He said. Then his lips pressed into mine.
