Chapter 15

Three weeks later, things have been pretty quiet. No new issues with Sierra. The cops couldn't find anything on her to charge her for the break-in. Things with Allissa have quieted down as well. As far as I'm aware, She and my brother have been getting along great. Dante decided on moving to a different place. He was tired of everyone knowing his business. That was a pain in the ass. We must have looked at a million different apartments in the city. I kept telling him to just pick one even though he kept asking my opinion. I'd tell him over and over again, that it was his choice, but then he would go on to say, someday your going to be here too. I would always just smile at him and nodded my head.

My mother and father wanted to have a family dinner. They had me invite Dante over and I was sure my brother would be bringing Allissa with him. Dante and I haven't seen her in a while. I was home helping my mother get all the food cooked and the place together. My mother likes to make a big deal about these things. My sister was coming with her husband and she was ready to pop out her first child any day now. My uncle Seth and his wife, my mother's best friend Samantha were also coming for dinner. Which was great, I loved aunt Samantha.

I guess I must have been lost in thought, because when I looked up my mother was watching me. "Anything on your mind?" She asked me. I took a deep breath.

"Yeah, kind of." I said. She smiled at me.

"Want to talk about it?" She asked.

"My Paris trip is in two weeks and I don't know what to do." I said.

"Aw, because of Dante?" She said. I nodded my heart my head at her.

"I mean, I've never let anyone stand in the way of my dreams, but now it's different." She walked over to me.

"Because you love him?" She asked me.

"I do love him, but this is something I've wanted for so long." She took a deep breath.

"Have you thought about asking him to go with you?" She said.

"Trust me the thought has crossed my mind, but he has his work and I don't have a plan on my return. I wanted to live there a while. I can't just ask him to do something like that." She smiled at me.

"Looks like you have a lot to think about." She said, walking back over to the oven to check her roast. I just smiled at her and shook my head. Thanks mom, got it covered now. I said to myself.

We finished getting all the food together and the dining room was all ready to go. It was around four thirty and everyone was going to be here by six. I excused myself to go get ready for dinner. I had gotten myself a nice looking black dress for dinner tonight. My family likes us to dress nice for these occasions. I left my hair down and slipped on some black high heels. I double checked myself and could hear voices downstairs.

I made my way down and my sister and her husband were already here. She was huge and looked so tired. She smiled when she saw me coming down the stairs. "You look great." She said as we hugged.

"So do you, how are you feeling?" I asked her. She rolled her eyes.

"Done, if he thinks I'm doing this again, he is crazy. So where's your good looking man?" She said, raising her eye brow at me.

"He is on his way." She smiled.

"You and I are going to need to have a talk soon, you know about how you went from women to men." We both giggled.

"Not men, just man." I corrected her. We both smiled and I heard the doorbell go off.

I walked over and opened the door to a sexy sight. Dante stood there in a tight fitted suit and he was holding flowers. He always looked so good in a suit. I might just have to pull him off to the side have my way with him. I started to get excited. I think he noticed. He just stood there smiling at me. "God damn sugar, you could have warned me." I looked at him confused. "How am I going to make it through this with you looking like that?" He asked me.

"I'm sure I've got no idea what your talking about?" I said. He walked in closer to my ear.

"You know exactly what I'm talking about. I could bend you over and take you right here, for looking that sexy." He whispered. I blushed immediately and that's all I wanted him to do, but I took a breath and got myself together. I just shook my head at him.

"Maybe later." I said and winked at him.

We walked into the living room and Dante walked over to my mother and father. "Good evening, thank you for the invite tonight." He said and handed my mother the flowers.

"Aw, thank you Dante, there beautiful." My mother said. My father and Dante shook hands. The front door opened up and we all looked over at it. My brother walked in with Allissa on his side. I almost choked when I saw the dress she was wearing. She looked like a complete slut. Her dress was completely inappropriate for dinner.

I knew my mother wasn't going to like this, but I also knew she wasn't going to make a scene. Dante came to my side. We both looked at each other. "Yeah, I know." He said. As she walked past us she gave me a look that could kill. They walked over to my mother and father, and my mother just looked at her up and down. My father almost made me spit out. He wouldn't even entertain her by looking at her. Sometimes my father cracks me up. I knew he knew what I was thinking, because my father winked at me and I just smiled and rolled my eyes.

"It's good to see you again Allissa, all of you." My mother said. Dante and I both had to leave the room before we died laughing.

"I'm wondering if maybe she dressed like that to get you attention." I said to Dante. He rolled his eyes.

"Trust me, the only tits I want to see are yours." We both laughed.

"I can't believe Jacob would even let her dress like that, but it is what it is I guess." I said. I heard the doorbell ring again and I knew it had to be my aunt and uncle. I took a hold of Dante's arm. "Come on you have to meet my aunt Sam, I just love her." I said as I pulled him with me. My mother and father were greeting them when Dante and I came into the room. "Aunt Sam." I hollered out. She turned to smile at me and opened her arms. I ran into them and gave her a big hug. She has always been my favorite. Even growing up she was always there for me and agreed with all my choices. I've always loved her for that.

"Who's the tits with your brother over there?" She whispered in my ear. I couldn't help but laugh.

"Long story, but you know Jacob." I said and she nodded her head at me. My mother passed out wine for everyone and juice for my sister. We all visited and talked in the living room for awhile when my mother announced it was time for dinner. I noticed most of the time Allissa was keeping her eyes on Dante and I. I was praying she wasn't going to do anything stupid tonight. We all took our seat as the help my mother hired started to bring out the food.

"So Jacob, why don't you tell us about your date here?" Aunt Samantha asked. I smiled and looked down. Just like her to be very forward.

"We both go to the same school and she is studying psychology." He said.

"That's nice." My aunt said. She looked over at Allissa. "Have you been to many family dinners Allissa?" She asked. I almost lost it. Allissa just nodded at her. Then she turned to me. "How did you and Dante meet?" She asked me. I smiled at her.

"We met at dad's ball." I said.

"That's were we all met." Allissa spoke up. We all looked at her, including my brother.

"I'm sorry?" My aunt said, looking at Allissa. She looked all around at us. She just looked down and I turned to Dante and just shook my head. My mother didn't look pleased. I took a deep breath as the soup I worked on was placed in front of all of us. "Well Adriana, I approve of Dante, nice catch." I smiled at her and Allissa looked at us.

The rest of dinner went well. We talked about my sisters new baby and everything seemed to go be smoothly. Most of us made our way out back. The air was cool and it felt good to get out of the house. Dante and I were enjoying a glass of wine talking with my father. It was nice to see my father and Dante getting along so well. I kind of felt like the third wheel, listening to them talk about work. Ugh, I decided to go in search of my mother or my aunt. I kissed Dante on the lips and my father on the cheek. They both looked at me and went right back to their conversation. I just smiled and went in search of better conversation. I walked inside, but I didn't see anyone. I walked into the living room. "Hello Beth." I looked over and saw Allissa sitting alone on the couch. I eyed her for a moment and decided to go have a seat next to her.

"How have you been Allissa?" I asked her.

"Like you give a shit." She said. I sat back.

"Why do you have to be like that?" I asked her.

"Like what?" She asked with attitude.

"Like this bitter person, your with my brother now. Don't you even like him?" I asked her. She looked away from me. I just shook my head. "Why are you even with him then?" I said crossing my arms.

My brother came walking into the room. "What's going on in here?" He asked. Allissa stood up and went to his arms immediately.

"She is being rude to me and I don't know why." She said. I almost laughed.

"What are you talking about Allissa?" I said. My brother gave me a dirty look.

"Why don't you just back off Beth, we don't need to hear you shit. She told you already that the thing between you and her is over. So just move on already." He spit out at me.

"What the fuck has she been telling you?" I hollered out. Just then my mother and aunt came walking into the room.

"What's going on in here?" My mother asked.

"I'm not really sure." I said, looking at my brother.

"Well mom, your daughter here can't seem to let go of Allissa and has been nothing but rude to her since we have gotten together." I really started to laugh. My father and Dante and uncle came into the room. Dante walked over to my side.

"Allissa has been lying to you Jacob. I don't want her and she don't want me. It's Dante she is after." I hollered. Jacob just shook his head.

"We're out of her." He said.

"Son." My father said.

"Not now, I'm not going to entertain Beth's lies, I'm not going to make Allissa stay here where she is clearly not welcome." Jacob said, looking at us all. Allissa just smiled at all of us. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

I then did the stupidest thing I could and walked over to her and slapped that pretty little smile off of her face.
