Chapter 38

Dante's POV,

We pulled up in the front house, I had come to know. The home of Boswell, my boss, leader of the gang here in France. Of course security let me in with no problems. I've not spoken to these people in three days. He knew I was here, the camera let him know. We pulled up in front of the house. Andre met us at the front door. "Where have you been Dante? He is upset." Andre said. I just nodded at him. "Who are these men?" Andre asked. Enzo and Damon followed me.

"I'll tell you everything later. Just do me a favor Andre, stay away from the boss for now." I knocked twice and opened the door. Boswell sat at his desk with two men at his sides and he didn't look happy. Enzo and Damon kept their heads down.

"Dante, my man. Where have you been hiding?" Boswell asked. "And you have come with company." He said. Both Damn and Enzo lifted their heads. I saw, what I thought was fear spread across his face. "Franco? Damon Franco? Wh..What are you doing here?" Boswell said. Damon stepped forward. I stepped with with him. He hissed under his breath. "Remember your loyalty." Boswell said. I stepped back. Boswell stayed in his seat, but the two men moved closer to Boswell. "This is very stupid of you to come to my home unannounced Franco." Boswell asked. "Are you double crossing me Dante?" He asked. Enzo looked at me and I crossed my arms.

"I could say the same thing to you." I said. Boswell lifted his eyebrows to me.

"Care to explain?" Boswell asked. Damon decided to speak up.

"Where's the girl Boswell?" He said.

"And what girl might that be?" Boswell said.

"Allissa Hewit." Damon said. Boswell started to laugh.

"I don't keep tabs on Dante's wife." Boswell said.

"Wife?" Enzo said, looking at me. I just kept my eyes on Boswell. "You can pull your men off the Jackson family." Enzo said. Boswell looked confused.

"Dante, please explain to me what this means?" Boswell asked.

I stepped forward. "Allissa informed me that if anything happens to her, your men will kill the Jackson family in Chicago." I said. Boswell started to look pissed off.

"I can guarantee you we are not doing any jobs for Allissa, never have." He said. I started to get confused. I didn't know what else to say. I was at a loss for words.

"So you have no idea what Dante is saying?" Damon said.

"No Mr. Franco, I don't. I don't work for Allissa she works for me. That bitch don't run shit." Boswell said. Damon started to explain everything to Boswell. Boswell sat there and listened to every sentence that came out of Damon's mouth. I started to see the respect Boswell had for Damon. Enzo just stood next to me with his hands behind his back. "I can guarantee you Dante, I never knew any of this. Allissa was only a member of the gang for less than six months before I met you." Boswell said. I nodded at him. The fire inside me was out of control. The bitch had lied to me all this time. I was going to murder her slowly.

Adriana's POV,

I sat on the couch watching a movie with Leo sitting next to me. He hasn't really said to much today. "Leo, are you upset with me?" I asked him. He placed a mouthful of popcorn in his mouth. He looked over at me.

"Why would you think that?" He asked me.

"Oh, I don't know. Maybe because you always have something to say and you have been quiet all day." I said.

"Maybe I'm worried about the guys. Not everything is about you Beth." He said. That hurt.

"I didn't mean that you ass." I spit out. He just smiled. "What are you smiling about?" I said. He snickers.

"That fire, I missed it." He said. I was not amused. "No Beth, I'm not upset with you. I do however think Dante should know about us." He said.

"I agree, but I'm not going to tell him till this is all over with. I need his mind focused." I said. Leo just nodded at me.

My phone started to go off and I picked it up. It was Emma, I knew she must be worried about me, so I answered it.

"Hello Emma."

"Beth, where have you been?"

"I'm sorry Emma, I've got family in town so I've been busy with them."

"Are you leaving Paris?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well I saw men removing things from your apartment and I got worried."

"Yes, I've decided to go home."

"Thanks for letting me know."

"I'm sorry Emma, I wouldn't of left without saying goodbye. I'm still here in Paris."

"Then come have dinner with me tonight before you go." Shit, how was I going to pull this one off? She was my only real friend I had here in Paris. I did want to at least say goodbye.

"Let me give you a call back and see what I can do."

"Okay, but don't leave me hanging for long."

I said goodbye and turned to look at Leo. "What's up?" He asked.

"That was my friend Emma. Her and I got close here. She would like for me to go have dinner with her tonight just to say goodbye." I said.

"You know that's not a good idea, your father would never let you go." He said. I knew he was right, but she was my friend. I couldn't just desert her after everything. That just wasn't right. "What's going on in that head of your Beth?" Leo asked.

"We don't know when everyone is going to return. What if you came with me. That way if there is any danger, you can protect me." I said smiling at him. I knew he would give in to me. "Please." I said.

"Stop it Beth, I can't let you go." He said.

"Pleaseeee." I said again. Still holding my smile. "I promise we wont be very long." I said. He just shook his head at me.

"That's not fair." He said. I started to clap my hands, because I knew I was getting my way.

I gave Emma a call back and we chose the place to meet up at. "Let's please try to make this a fast dinner, okay?" Leo said. I promised him everything would be great, with no problems. He just rolled his eyes at me. "If they all try to kill me, you have to protect me." Leo said.

"I would never let them hurt you." I said to him and reached over and kissed his cheek. "Thank you." I said, before I jumped up and headed to the shower. I was finished getting ready and went to find Leo. He was dressed and ready to go waiting for me in the living room.

"You have everything you need?" He asked me. I nodded at him as I watched him strap his guns onto him.

"Do you really need that?" I asked him.

"Yes Beth, I don't go anywhere with out it." He said. Whatever, I said to myself.

We left the house and took one of the drivers with us. Leo was left in charge of everything here at the house unless told otherwise. So we really had no problems getting out. "It's kind of hot seeing you in charge." I said giggling. Leo just laughed.

"Shut up." He said. I gave the address to the restaurant Emma picked for us to meet at to the driver. I had never been to this place, so I didn't know exactly where we were going. Once we were getting close. I didn't really like the neighborhood we were driving in. The restaurant turned out to be a small little hole in the wall. That if you didn't know was there, you would have missed it. We only found it because Emma was waiting outside of it's doors. We pulled up in front of her. I started to get out of the car when Leo grabbed my arm. I looked up at him. "I don't have a good feeling about this. Let me go out first." I nodded at him. Leo stepped out of the car and looked around. I started to come out with him, when I heard a loud bang. I jumped back and watched the driver fall back. He had been shot in the head. I let out a scream, as Leo started to pull out his gun. I heard more gun shots go off and I turned to see Leo fall to the ground. I started to rush out of the car.

"Leo." I screamed. I felt someone's arm go around my mouth. I started to punch and slap. I was able to get out of the person's grip. I started to run, when I heard more gun shots going off. The tears were building me, as I ran as fast as I could. Someone stepped out in front of me and punched me full on in the face. I fell to the ground. I had blood coming from my lip as I reached for it. I heard the person yell out and a car came rushing to our side. "Please." I yelled out.

"Shut the fuck up." I heard. I sat there blinded and crying uncontrollably. My Leo, my Leo was shot and I didn't know whether he was dead or alive. This was all my fault, and my poor Emma, they probably killed her to. I just cried and cried.

Dante's POV,

We returned home with only one thing actually accomplished. We learned that everything that ever came out of Allissa's mouth was nothing but a lie. To top it all off, she was missing. It wasn't going to last long, considering half of Paris was looking for her now. We pulled up to the house and even though I was pissed off, I couldn't wait to wrap my arms around Beth. We had been gone all day long and I was ready to get my girl away from Leo. We all got out of the cars and started to head inside.

The house was quiet. A little rare, considering how many people were staying here right now. Something wasn't sitting right inside me. Where was Beth and Leo. Of course, I thought the worse as I headed to our bedroom. I went inside, but the room was empty. I went out and over to Leo's room. I placed my hand on the doorknob and took a deep breath. I pushed it open, but it was also empty. What the fuck? I said to myself. I headed back down the stairs. I started to call out for Beth. Reese looked over at me. "I can't find Beth or Leo." I said as I started to search the house.

"What do you mean you can't find them?" Reese asked.

"I mean their not here." I said. Damon pulled his phone out and called the front gate.

"They said, her and Leo left about two hours ago." Enzo ran to the basement and started to look through the cameras. Sure enough there was Beth and Leo dressed nice leaving the property. Damon went to ask the guards if they said where they were going. We were all standing in the living room, when Damon returned. "They didn't tell anyone where they were going." He said. I started to panic. That's when I saw a note sitting on the end table by the couch. I went over to it and picked it up. It was from Leo.

Took Beth to dinner to meet a friend named Emma. The place is called The Den. Leo
