"Honey, you need to speak to Theo." My mom said softly, as she stroked my hair. I closed my eyes and allowed myself to feel like a child again under her touch, my heart aching as I thought of him. I was too angry to speak to him.

"Another girl answered his phone-"

"I know, sweetie."

"At two am Mom! She was out of breath, and he was right next to her. What possible explanation have you got for that?" I realised I was shaking, my voice louder than necessary as my Mom looked at me sadly.

"I don't know, but I know Theo is in love with you baby. Allow him to explain."

"No. You can be in love with someone and fuck someone else when you are states apart." I retorted angrily as she pursed her lips.

"Language Hannah."

"Mom, don't use the language card now."

"He comes home tomorrow." She said quietly, as I felt the pain in my chest subside. The thought of him being over the road was soothing, even if it meant I didn't speak to him. It was annoyingly comforting. "Its Christmas Hannah. Just hear him out, then decide what you want to do. Do you want a hot chocolate?" She smiled kindly as I nodded, tears streaming down my face as she slid her arms around me.

"Being on my period doesn't help either." I sniffled as she kissed my head softly.

"Baby, sometimes it sucks being a woman. But you know, I'm a Mama to three boys and a sassy young woman. Let me tell you, I ain't never seen a man as in love with anyone like I have with you and Theo."

"Nikolas and Amy-"

"Yes, they're madly in love too. But you and Theo have been like it for years. Its beautiful. Please speak to him."

She smiled sadly as she left the room, making me sigh with irritation. She was right- it was Christmas. If I didn't speak to him, he would just turn up and it would be a full blown argument. I didn't want either of our families miserable on Christmas Day. I picked up my phone as pulled on a sweater, making my way out of the house and to the back garden. I was super lucky that my garden had a huge swing seat, and it was great for reflecting on. I sank into it as it creaked beneath me, sighing as I dialled his number. He answered immediately.

"Baby, I can explain." He began, his voice sincere as I felt my anger begin to rise. The thought of him fucking anyone else crippled me inside. Hell, the thought of him kissing her was enough torture all by itself.

"So explain." I said quietly, surprisingly myself with how cool and collected I sounded.

"She came home with my roommate-"

"Does she have a name?" I asked coldly, as I heard him hesitate. My stomach was in knots, as I heard him sigh dejectedly.

"Sherry."

I felt like I'd been punched in the gut.

"Sherry? The one that won't take no for an answer?" I spat angrily, my hand rubbing my forehead furiously as I tried to remain calm.

"Yes, her. Please listen. Promise me you'll let me explain."

His voice sounded lost, and scratchy, like he had a bad cold. Maybe he'd caught something from that skanky bitch.

I didn't answer him, so he sighed as he continued.

"Billy brought her home. They've got history. He knew I didn't want her there, but he was a fucking mess. He passed out cold on the floor."

"How convenient."

"She answered the phone. She must've saw it ringing, and she answered it. That's it. I swear to god."

He was silent then as I closed my eyes, tears falling down my cheeks.

"And I'm supposed to believe you? Just like that?"

"Yes because it's the truth!"

"You've been distant for weeks. I've barely heard from you. You're apparently finding your course hard- you- school genius. I sent you that text when I went to bed and it took your hours to respond. This doesn't add up Theodore."

"Look at me." He said softly, as my eyes snapped open.

There he stood. At the back door, my mother wringing her hands behind him. The phone fell silent in my hands as I stood up, my legs shaking as he walked towards me, his stupidly handsome face looked gaunt and tired, his eyes gazed at me like I was his world.

"Did someone order a hot chocolate?" He said softly, as he brushed my cheek with his finger. I gasped at his touch, as I took the cup from him. He hadn't shaved in a while either, I noticed as I stared at him as though he was going to disappear.

"You're here." I said dumbly, as he gazed at me.

"Of course I am."

"Did you fuck her?" I asked, my eyes fixing on his as he knelt down in front of me, his hands circling mine.

"No. Look at me. No."

His eyes were wide as he kissed my hands, and I knew that he was being honest with me.

"Then I'm coming to your college, and I'm kicking her fucking cunt square." I seethed, as he held my face in his hands.

"You can't doubt me Hannah. Trust is too fucking important. You are it for me."

"I'm still going to your college-"

"Well I'm not." He murmured, as I lifted my eyes to his.

"What?" I yelped in disbelief.

He chuckled as he kissed my lips lightly, my loins immediately springing into action.

"I tried it. I really did. But I couldn't concentrate. I need you. The reason I succeed, is because of you. You complete me."

I couldn't speak, the breath leaving my body as our lips met, the kiss urgent yet full of love and desire.

"I'll cut your balls off if I find out you're lying about Sherry."

"Standard." He shrugged, as I felt a smile play on my lips. The relief that surged through me was immense, my entire body seemed to relax in his arms.

"Edward needs to fuck off." He added as an afterthought, as he brushed my hair out of my eyes.

"Why?" I replied, puzzled.

"Because I'm coming back home baby. For good."

I stood up, spilling my hot chocolate over as he grinned, the light returning to his eyes.

"You mean-"

"I'm coming to your college. Yup. Let the fun times commence."

I kissed him then as happy tears slid down my cheeks, my hands pushing his body into mine as I felt him chuckle against me.

"So hot chocolate...you're on your period right?" He sighed as I made a face.

"Maybe."

"Right then. Chinese, chocolate and a rom com it is. Where's my car keys sugar?"

"I haven't said I forgive you yet." I smiled as he pulled me close to him.

"I'm sorry it made you doubt me. But there's nothing to forgive. I love you Phillips."

"I love you too, De Luca."
