Kane stared down at the tiny girl in his arms. He hadn’t expected her to be so attractive. Her hair was extremely long, something he always admired in a woman.
He loved the way her blue-green eyes had filled with fear as she looked at him, he could practically feel the panic seeping from her body. Unbidden, he thought of Colin, and whether that was how he felt in his final moments.
Kane shook his head, he needed to get out of the house and fast. He grabbed her phone off the nightstand and stuffed it in his pocket, then carried her over to the window. He carelessly tossed her over his broad shoulder and began climbing down the ladder he had at her window.
He was thankful she was small, it made things a lot easier. He swiftly made it to the ground, his body pumping with adrenaline. He didn’t have much time to do everything he needed to get done.
He carried her through the woods and down a narrow path he had taken earlier. He had a car waiting for him and dumped her in the trunk of it. He ran back to the house, clasped the ladder and hid it in the woods under some leaves. He had someone else coming back for it.
He pulled out the cell phone and dropped it next to the ladder. He had no doubt in his mind that Conner had placed a tracker in his daughters cell phone. In about 30 minutes, another man would be by to get the ladder and phone.
The plan was that his partner would drive the phone far from here, opposite of where Kane was taking Hazel. When they realized she was gone in the morning they would try and track her phone. His buddy would have made quite a bit of distance by then, leading them farther from her.
He felt a faint smile start to form, he was going to do it. His plan almost complete, all his hard work paying off. He wasn’t fully sure what he was going to do with the girl but he’d take that day by day. Just knowing Connor would be losing his mind with her missing was good enough. For now, at least.
He ran back to his car, it was still running with the heat blasted. It instantly warmed him the moment he was in and the door was shut. He threw the car into drive, taking off at a normal speed. He didn’t want to draw any unwanted attention to himself, he had a long drive ahead of him.
When Hazel awoke, she instantly noticed the major difference between her room and the one she was in now. The bed was smaller, the room was plain, and lights were dim. It didn’t even smell the same, there was a damp smell filling her nostrils.
In a split second she realized what had happened. The man wasn’t trying to rob them, he wanted to kidnap her. She bolted straight up, the walls around her were made of cement as well as the floor.
The room was rather empty, containing a twin bed which she laid on and two doors. She tentatively stepped off the bed, her feet freezing the moment they hit the floor. Her hands were no longer bond, her feet freely carrying her around the room.
She tried the first door she came to, the handle immobile. She mentally cursed, it must be the door leading out. She walked over to the second one, this one opening to a small bathroom. It had a toilet, a stall sized shower, and a sink.
As she stood there looking things over, she heard a loud clicking noise followed by a door scraping against the floor. She instantly turned around, her eyes landing on the muscular man who had held a knife to her throat.
“You’re awake, I see.” He stepped into the room, shutting the door behind him.
She didn’t say anything to him, her body was trembling with fear. He flexed the muscles in his arms and cracked his neck by turning it side to side. She looked down at the pjs she was wearing, embarrassed by the amount of skin showing.
“I suppose you’re wondering why you’re here.”
“Yes.” She ran her tongue across her bottom lip, attempting to moisten her chapped skin.
“You can blame your dad.” His eyes narrowed slightly.
“I-I don’t know anything about what he does.”
“I’m sure you don’t. Doesn’t mean I’m going to let you go.” He began walking towards her.
She felt her heart begin to race again. She moved away from him, but he didn’t stop coming towards her until she was backed into a corner. His tall frame dwarfing her and his thick muscles intimidating her.
“Ar-Are you going to kill me?” Her voice a pitiful mumble.
“If I was, I wouldn’t have taken the time to bring you here.” He leaned down, his face only an inch from her’s.
“What do you want with me?” She turned her head to the side, avoiding his fiery gaze.
He let out a deep laugh, the humor completely gone from it. He grabbed her face, his fingers digging into her cheeks and forcing her to look at him.
“That depends on my mood. You’re already playing your part. Your dad is trying everything to find you.” His grip tightening. “Are you going to be a good girl?”
She parted her lips, her body struggling to pull in oxygen as her panic took control. When she didn’t respond, he removed his hand and brutishly grabbed her hips. He lifted her up, smashing her against the wall with his rock hard body. The cold cement chilling her back and forcing her to suck in a breath of air. His hands slipped down over her thighs and pulled her legs up.
“You don’t want to piss me off, doll face.”
“Yes what?” His voice bitter.
“Yes I-I’ll be a good girl.”
He looked down at her pjs, her arms were crossed over her chest. He yanked her arms over her head and pinned them easily with one hand.
“Such expensive clothes, especially for something you sleep in.” He rubbed the silk of her shirt.
The fingers of his callused hand pushed the first button open, causing Hazel to inhale sharply. Her chest heaving up and down.
“What are the chances your underwear is just as expensive?” He pushed open another button, his hand brushing across her smooth skin.
“St-Stop! I-I don’t have anything on underneath!” Her cheeks heated, turning a soft pink.
“Really?” The corner of his mouth curled into a faint smirk.
She squeezed her eyes shut, her lip quivering. She waited for the next button to be opened, but instead she felt her body fall to the floor. She landed hard on her bottom, a short yelp bursting from her mouth.
He didn’t say anything else to her, just turned and left the room. She heard him lock the door. Her breathing was erratic, her body tense and sore from the fall. That was the closest she’d ever come to having another person look at her naked body.
She sat in the corner until her body was chilled to the bone. She weakly stood up and went over to the bed where she curled up under the covers. She buttoned her shirt up, then wrapped her arms around her body. Shutting her eyes tightly and forcing herself to slip back into slumber.
