THREE WEEKS LATER TENNESSEE, PITTMAN

IVY

I stand infront of the mirror and look at my clear blue dress. Then I turn and look at my left shoulder and the mark there, it looks like a flame. I have looked at it so many times since we got back home and the words Flacără de foc comes to mind every time.

Every time I look at it, I get such a weird mix of emotions. It bubbles inside me and I can almost feel the man like he is standing there behind me. I close my eyes and take deep breaths when a shiver runs up my spine. I look out through the window and see Nyx catching Lia and pull her in for a kiss before he swirls her around.

A pang of sadness cuts inside of me when Jason comes to mind. We never took the unmating potion, I just took off. To be honest, I ran as fast as I could. Every day without him is so hard and it only gets worse.

I hate all these miles that separate us, but mostly I hate him. I never want to see him again, but I miss him so much that it feels like I’m going to break. I put a fake smile on my lips there’s not room for feeling sorry for yourself today. Nyx and Lia is going to have their mateing ceremony and I am so happy for them. I hope that I one day can find someone that makes me happy even if he isn’t my true mate.

NYX

I knock on Ivy´s door and step inside. She turns around with a smile on her lips, but I see the pain in her eyes. Damn Jason, he is more than a fucking asshole!

“You look amazing.”

I tell her and she roll her eyes

“You know that you have turned into a softy right?”

I snort and gives her a smirk. But in a way I have. Losing or almost losing my Doe, that pain I felt made me more humble towards everything. Our parents storm inside the room and mother start to fuss and shed tears over how big and amazing we all are until Greyson says

“Iphi, stop it”

“What? My babies are almost grown up and Nyx has a mate, I love Lia, she is an amazing young woman, but they are so young there were wearing diapers like yesterday.”

“Little Thing have you forgotten about what we did when we were at their age? I’m pretty sure that we did a lot more grown up things than Nyx and Lia will ever do.”

“Fuck dad! Stop talking like that!” I hiss at Greyson
“What? It’s not my fault that your mother is a naughty little Thing”

Mother gives Greyson a glare who winks at her while Trey just shakes his head and laughs at them.

“Ivy I have been wanting to ask you about something.”
“Ask away.”

“I know that you did something in that cave, Doe is here thanks to you. What did you do?”

Everyone looks at Ivy, who squirms on the spot and points at her left shoulder.

“Oh my God you got a scar! Was it Wolfsbane?”

Mother shrieks and starts fussing all over again.

“Mum, stop, it wasn’t Wolfsbane. I don’t know what it is… I made a deal with someone. Acham knew who it was but I never saw him. All I know is that this was the price to pay, but I don’t know what it means”

“You made a deal with a supernatural being without knowing what it will cost you?”

Greyson growl at his daughter who glares back at him

“Yes, I did! Because I refuse to stand there and watch the people I love die or get hurt. I don’t regret it and I will face the consequences of my action if there will be any. I would do it again without a second thought so don’t even try to lecture me about it!”

She growls in the same tone as her father. They stare at each other and the similarities between them has never been more obvious. Both are too stubborn for their own good. Greyson sighs and gives her a hug.

“I don’t want to see you get hurt baby girl.”
“Dad, I’m twenty years old now. I’m not a baby girl anymore.”

“It doesn’t matter, all of you will always be our babies no matter how old you get.” He tells her

“And you are calling me soft?” I say and Ivy gives me a smile
“The big bad Alphas has just lost their touch.”

She teases and both Greyson and Trey snort while mother agrees. It takes about five seconds, then mum and Greyson is bickering about Greyson being a softy. Ivy and I groan, but I can’t help but smile at them when they leave the room followed by and amused Trey

“Ivy promise me that you come to me if you need help with whatever it is that you have agreed to.”

“I promise.”

I give her another hug and kiss her on the top of her head

“Thank you, I love you sis”
“Yeah, yeah, cotton Alpha I love you too.”

She tells me and we both laugh

IVY

The party is really nice, but Jason, who wasn’t supposed to be here is here. I try to stay as far away from him as I can but my wolf nags and claw inside my mind to go find him. Work this out and live happily ever after.

I try to hush her, but she keeps insisting and when I angrily stomp towards the house and round the corner, he stands there. He looks me up and down with an unreadable expression on his face.

“Jason.”
“Ivy”

Is all we say and keep looking at each other. A bubbly feeling starts in the pit of my stomach and spreads out my entire body. I curse myself for feeling like this when I am close to him, but then my emotions start to run wild.

A chill runs up my spine when fear and excitement makes the adrenaline pump out in my body. This is not because of Jason. I look around scanning the crowd when my eyes get stuck on a man leaning against a tree on the edge of the forest.

His hair is black as charcoal and he almost looks like an angel that fell down from heaven. His whole persona tells me that this man is a lot more than and Alpha.

I swallow hard, when the wind carries his scent to me. It teases my senses and waves of goosebumps travels over my skin. He gives me a smile and I smile back. I hear Jason talk, but I can’t make out the words. And before I know it, I’m standing just a few feet from him looking into a pair of dark green eyes.

“Nice to see you again little Wolf.”

He says and I wonder what I have gotten myself into
