Chapter 29

I was scared and didn’t know what was going on outside the doors that Blake, Ruby and I were hiding in. We could hear gunshots and a lot of banging going on. Then someone was banging on the door of the room we were hiding in. We got up and ran into the bathroom and locked the door and hid in the tub. I could feel the tears running down my face and Blake just held onto me. Then we heard the bedroom door fly open and I knew we were in trouble. Then the bathroom door flew open. The men came running in. We didn’t know any of them. The bigger one grabbed me and tossed me over his shoulders. I screamed out has one them hit Blake hard and she fell to the ground. Ruby tried to fight, but they knocked her out. The men took off with me in their arms. The man holding me was tripped by Darren and I was thrown across the hall and landed on my stomach hard. I felt the pain instantly. I watched in slow motion as the man shot at Darren and it hit him. He fell to the ground. The man got up and grabbed me again. “Please sir, I’m pregnant.” I tried to say. He ignored me and was just trying to find a way out. He took his opportunity and went out a window. We fell into the darkness and there was no one around.

Lucas’s POV,

“Where the fuck is everyone?” I yelled out as I stood next to William who had been hit in the arm. I was pretty sure my nose was broken. Williams men manage to run the rest of these men off. I took off inside the house with William on my tail. That’s where we found Darren on the ground in the upstairs hallway. William ran over to him. He was out cold. He took a hit to the shoulder.

“You need to check on the women,” William said. I nodded at him and started to go through the bedrooms. I ran into an open door and found Blake and Ruby passed out in the bathroom, but no Scarlet. I started to panic.

“William!” I hollered out. William came running into the bathroom.

“Kitten!” He yelled out as he grabbed Blake in his arms. Jake came running in and grabbed Ruby.

“I have an ambulance on its way,” I shouted. “I have to find Scarlet,” I said.

“She wasn’t here?” William asked me.

“No,” I said as I took off to search the rest of the house. “Scarlet, If you can hear me it’s safe to come out baby!” I yelled out. I could hear the sirens coming and I still couldn’t find her. All of a sudden the house was full of cops and paramedics. They got Darren, Blake, and Ruby off to the hospital. William was arguing about going in for his arm. “You have to go. Your wife is already on her way there.” I told him and he nodded at me.

“Find her,” William said. I nodded at him and I was left still searching the house. The house was empty. She was nowhere to be found. I knew at that moment we were attacked to get to me or Darren. They took Scarlet. I felt the sting of fear rise inside of me and I took off to the hospital. I needed to talk to Blake or Ruby. Scarlet had to of been with them when she was taken. I got there and found William and Jake in a waiting room. They both stood up.

“She is not there William. They had to of taken her.” I said.

“We know Ruby told us,” William said.

“How is everyone?” I asked.

“Blake and Darren are still out. Darren is in surgery and Blake took a nasty hit to the head.” Jake said. I turned and looked at William.

“What are we going to do about this?” I asked him.

“I have my men on it now as we speak,” William said.

“I know your family is in here right now and you need to be here, but my family has been taken with your granddaughter. What are we going to do?” I said to William. He took a deep breath.

“We’re going to find them and kill whoever is behind this,” William said.

Scarlet’s POV,

I could hear voices all around me, but I couldn’t open my eyes. The pain in my stomach had stopped and my head felt fuzzy. “I told you to bring her back unharmed.” I heard a male voice say.

“I tried boss, but the whole family and guards were everywhere. I’m surprised I got out alive.” The other voice said.

“She has blood between her legs, I have a doctor on his way now. You had better hope she didn’t lose that baby or you're a dead man.”

Blood? Oh my god. There’s blood? Was all I could think before I passed out once again. I don’t know how long I was out that time, but when I opened my eyes there was a man in between my legs. I screamed out as someone else came up and gave me a shot of something in my arm. I blacked out again. When I opened my eyes. I was in a small little room. I was in a bed and the room was clean. I looked around the room and I was alone. My body was stiff and I felt so much pain. That’s when I noticed my stomach was smaller. I started to panic and I got myself out of the bed. A woman came running into the room and I realized I was in a hospital. “Ma’ ma please, get back in the bed.

“What’s going on?” I hollered out.

“You're in a hospital. Everything is going to be okay.” She said as she tried to calm me down. I followed her as she sat me back in the bed.

“I’m pregnant and I was kidnaped, please I need to call someone,” I said.

“If you just get back in bed I’ll have the doctor come in and speak to you.” She said. I nodded at her and laid back down. I was in so much pain. The doctor came walking in.

“Hello, how are you feeling?” He asked me.

“I’m in a lot of pain,” I said.

“Can you tell me your name?”

“My name is Scarlet Addison and I’m almost seven months pregnant. Please, I need to call someone.” I said. The doctor looked to the ground and grabbed a chair. He pulled it next to the side of my bed.

“Scarlet, you can call whoever you need to call, but we have to talk for a moment. Do you remember anything about what happened to you?′ He asked me.

“Yes, I was having dinner when the house was under attack and I was taken. I don’t remember much after that but waking up here.” I said. He took a deep breath.

“Someone left you in our waiting room. Once we found you we realized you were in bad shape. I’m sorry to tell you this, but you lost your baby.” He touched my hand and the room started to spin. I couldn’t understand what he had just told me.

“What?” I said in a very shaky voice.

“The baby didn’t make it. I’m so sorry.” He said. I started to cry and I couldn’t breathe. The doctor got up and called for the nurse. I was losing it and the nurse came in and they tried to give me a shot.

“No,” I said as I smacked the needle out of her hands. I rolled over and just cried. “Please I need a phone,” I said.

“Let us call for you.” The nurse said. I gave her Lucas’s number and they left the room. My heart was broken in a million pieces. I couldn’t stop crying. She was gone. My baby girl was gone.

Lucas’s POV,

My phone was ringing off the hook and I finally picked it up.

“Hello!” I yelled out.

“Is this Lucas?” I heard a woman say on the other line.

“Yes, this is Lucas. Who the hell is this?′ I said.

“Do you know a Scarlet Addison?” She asked me.

“We have Scarlet over here at General Mason Hospital.” She said.

“You what?” I asked again. The woman repeated herself and I told her I was on my way. I hung up and ran to William who was in the room with Blake. Darren was still out and Blake was doing much better. “I found Scarlet, She is at the hospital on the other side of the city.” William stood up.

“I’m going with you.” He said and we took off. We pulled up and ran inside the hospital. The nurse and doctor met us outside of her room.

“Are you Lucas?” The doctor asked me. I nodded at him. “I need to talk to you before you go in there.” He said to me.

“Is she okay?” I asked him.

“I’m afraid not. She has lost the baby and we just told her about it.” The doctor said.

“What did you just say?” William asked the doctor.

“This is the baby grandfather,” I told the doctor.

“Whatever happened to her caused the loss of the baby. I’m sorry for everyone’s loss, but Scarlet needs you all now.” The doctor said.

“Go to her Lucas. I have to go back to my family and take care of this.” William said. “I will be in touch.” He said and walked off. I took a deep breath and opened her door. It was quiet and the only sound you could hear was her cries.

“Baby?” I said as I closed the door behind me. She rolled over just enough to look at me and then she lost it. I ran to her arms and pulled her into my lap. I held her while she cried.

“They killed her Lucas. They killed my baby girl.” She said. I just held her and rocked her. I didn’t know what to say to comfort her. I just held on with everything I had as the tears fell down my cheeks.
