Chapter 17 - Rathman's Visit

Lillian’s emerald green eyes were open wide as she stared at the sorceress sitting beside her on the bed she had been shackled to.

Had she heard her captor correctly?

“I’m... I’m... with child?” Lillian’s voice was hesitant, uncertain.

“Are you sure?”

Rayvinn’s brows both rose up high upon hearing this.

“Oh, you really didn’t know...”

The room began to spin around and around as Lillian closed her eyes in an effort to still her surroundings. She suddenly felt quite nauseousness as she struggled to control her rapid breathing.

This couldn’t be true... she would have known if she were pregnant.

Wouldn’t she?

“I take it you and Draxus have been intimate with one another by now?” Rayvinn assumed aloud, “It appears that he got the job done rather quickly, wouldn’t you agree?”

Lillian couldn’t bear to face her now, she instead kept her eyes cast downward fixed on her stomach as she wondered if a child really was growing within the comfort of her womb right now.

Was she even really ready to become a mother?

She knew the child was Draxus’, he was the only man she had been intimate with.

Was she ready to have a child with the Dragon King?

“Hmm... I gather this was an unexpected pregnancy?” Rayvinn enquired as she stood up.

Lillian’s voice was soft as she continued to stare down at her stomach.

“I didn’t even know. We weren’t trying... I guess the possibility never even crossed my mind...” the Queen explained, “I’ve never considered becoming a mother... at least not this soon.”

Then she had a troubling thought as she looked up to the sorceress who now stood over her.

“Wait, what’s to happen to my child once it’s born?” Lillian asked.

Rayvinn tilted her head as she looked down to Lillian’s stomach.

“Once the child is born I will take the baby and raise it as my own.”

“Like hell you will!” Lillian shot back at her, suddenly overly protective of a child she didn’t even know she had up until now.

“You and that bastard Rathman will not go anywhere near my child!”

“You hardly have a choice, my dear.” Rayvinn reminded her captive of her restraints with a nod of her head.

Shaking her head with a look of pure fury Lillian spoke sternly to the sorceress now.

“I will not allow you to take my child from me. I’d die first!”

With a quick chuckle, Rayvinn turned around and began to make her way towards the door to the tower room.

“We will see... Rest up, my Queen. You’ll need your strength for tomorrow. I’ll be back in here bright and early for the next transfusion.”

“Wait, please don’t leave me in here.” she begged as the sorceress opened the door and exited the room, closing it behind her with a loud ‘clang’.

“Wait, Rayvinn please!” Lillian called out after her with a worried expression, “Come back!”

The incarcerated Queen was forced to give up on her attempts to call out for assistance.

Instead she lay her head back down on the mattress and let the overwhelming need for sleep take over as her eyelids slowly closed and she drifted off.

King Draxus flew through the cold night air on the back of his magnificent black dragon Drako.

They were on their way to where his wife was being held captive.

Concerns of her well-being continued to flood throughout his mind as he soared through the thickened clouds hovering high up in the night sky.

He fought to suppress his concerns, instead choosing to focus on what the plan was when he eventually arrived.

His plan of attack.

And it wouldn’t be long now.

If he continued at their current speed he was less than a few hours away from his enemy.

This time he would show no mercy...

No, this time the Dragon King would kill them all and burn Rathman’s entire castle to the ground!

Lillian was suddenly woken in the middle of the night by the sound of the tower door unlatching with a ‘clank’, as it opened slowly to reveal several figures who entered the room one by one.

With a sleepy groan she blinked rapidly and lifted her head up in an effort to focus on the figures as they made their way inside the room and stood around where she lay restrained to the bed.

She counted there were about seven of them.

“What is the meaning of this?” she spoke with a frown as she looked at the soldiers one by one as they stared back at her with unsettling smirks.

“Why are you here?”

“Oh you don’t need to worry about them, your majesty...”

A sudden voice came as a familiar figure stepped in through the open doorway and slowly made his way across the room towards her.

It was King Rathman.

He grinned down at her as he reached up and began to remove his gloves one by one, followed closely by his long-sleeved shirt over his head.

“They’re just here to watch.”

“Watch?”

Noticing the door was being closed by one of the darkly-dressed soldiers in the room with her now Lillian immediately realised what was about to happen to her and her eyes went wide with horrific terror.

One of the soldiers moved in quickly toward her with a long piece of cloth to silence her and she panicked.

She shook her head and screamed out at the top of her lungs.

“No... NO, HELP... Please...mph... Mmm!”

Her cries were suddenly muffled by the piece of material as he gagged her mouth with it and tied it tightly in a knot behind her head.

As hard as she tried to struggle free from it, it made no difference. She was still shackled to the bed and completely vulnerable to their surprise attack.

Continuing to shake her head as the soldier who had gagged her smiled and slapped her the side of her face playfully.

He then proceeded to step back and move into his position along the edge of the room with the others.

Lillian glared up at Rathman now, who was now in only his long pants as he stepped forward to where she was chained down to the bed.

His sinister smirk telling her all she needed to know.

“You’ve caused me a great deal of trouble, your majesty.” he taunted her.

Rathman stood over her now, his tattooed skin flexing as he tilted his head to the side to meet her terrified gaze.

The young Queen was trembling with fear.

Never in her entire life had she felt so helpless and alone.

Not only that but she was now with child and feared he may do something to harm it.

“Now, I’ve got it on good authority that the sorceress is otherwise detained at the moment and should be busy for... oh at least the next hour or two I’d say. Plenty of time for us to get to know each other a little better, wouldn’t you agree?”

She began to cry, shaking her head violently from side to side as she tried screaming out muffled sounds from beneath the gag.

His soldiers standing around the room chuckled menacingly as their King lowered his hand to sit on her cheek but as soon as his fingers touched her skin she pulled her face away in disgust.

Rathman’s eyes narrowed in anger at this.

He reached down and grabbed her by the chin, turning her head forcefully back to face him and causing her to make a muffled groan as he bent down to hold his face right in front of hers now.

Her breaths were short and sharp with both rage and terror as tears rolled down either side of her face.

He whispered to her with his deep and menacing voice, causing a feeling of dread to settle over her.

“So let’s get to know each other, shall we?”
