Ryder’s POV,

“Nicolas, hold your breath and then let it out as you shoot.” Nicolas turned and gave me a frown.

“I know how to shoot.”

“Is that why you missed the target twice now?” I walked over and took the gun from him. I hit the target five times in a row and handed the gun back to him. He just shook his head.

“I get it dad your a bad ass.”

“Don’t let your mama hear you talk like that.” Nicolas rolled his eyes. For the last five years, Nicolas has been training in combat, guns, and fighting. He is a natural and is going to be one of the good ones. Nicolas knows all our secrets and has been working closely with me. Even at twelve, he is a little Warrior. I have decided that I want to start Socks with gun training. Now all I have to do is get Danica on board.

“She is only ten Ryder.”

“I understand but Nicolas started at seven.”

“He is a boy and your next in line. She well she is my baby.” I walked over to her and pulled her into my arms.

“Don’t you want our daughter to be able to protect herself? She needs to know these things.”

“I know your right, but I still don’t like it.” We walked together down the hall to Anna’s room. I knocked on her door and she yelled for us to come in. She looked over at us. Anna was a beautiful child. Her hair was light blond and brown. Her eyes were hazel in color and she was tall for her age. Even though she wasn’t mine. I never treated her that way. She has and will always be my daughter, but she looked like him. Especially in her eyes. She still didn’t know the truth and Danica and I spent hours talking about it. We promised her that we would tell her when she was older and could understand better.

“Is everything okay?” Anna asked us.

“You start training in the morning Socks. I want you up bright and early.” Her little eyes lit up.

“Really? Me?” I had to smile at her.

“What did you think I would let my girl be weak?” Both Anna and Danica laughed.

“She is anything but weak,” Danica said and I knew that was the truth. That child has been fighting all her life. We even have problems with her fighting at school, but it was now time to learn that she had to get her anger under control. She needed to become a warrior and not a bully.

“I’ll be ready daddy.” She said. I nodded at her. Over the next six years. Both my kids had become deadly weapons. Nicolas was now eighteen and Anna was sixteen.

“Nick, I swear to god. I’m going to kill you!” I heard Anna yell. I walked out to see Anna with her gun pointed at Nicolas. Only Anna called Nicolas, Nick. She was the only one he allowed to call him that. Now you would think I would stop this, but this happened more than you would think and Anna knew her brother could easily get out of it. I stood in the doorway with my arms crossed. Even Owen and Robby were watching closely. “She is only sixteen Nick, and my best friend.” Great, I said to myself. Not only was Nicolas my best. Even better than myself, but my son was also a huge playboy, and that shit drove his mother nuts.

“I just turned eighteen Anna, that shit happened before.”

“Yeah and now she is in love with you and you just tossed her aside. I’m going to kick your ass. I told you to stay away from my friend’s Nick, but you had to go after Becky? Becky, really Nick?” Both Owen and Robby started to laugh. Even I couldn’t keep my smile from showing.

“I can’t help it if your best friend is hot.” Anna charged him and he had her pinned to the ground before she could even hit him.

“I hate you!” She yelled out.

“What the hell is going on in here?” All our heads turned and looked at my queen. She looked pissed off.

“It seems your son here has been misbehaving with Becky.” Danica just looked to the ground and shook her head.

“Resume your positions,” Danica said.

“Mom!” Nicolas yelled out.

“I don’t even want to hear it, Nicolas. You deserve to get your ass beat.” I had to laugh. “Oh and watch your damn mouth.” That’s when we all heard Nicolas cry out. We turned as he hit the ground holding his crotch.

“I’ll cut it off of you don’t stay away from Becky,” Anna yelled at him and left the room.

“I swear I’m about to be gay,” Nicolas said as he tried to stand up.

“You’re a damn liar, you like pussy too much,” Robby said as he went to help Nicolas up. The two of them were like best friends.

“Yeah, your right about that,” Nicolas said and Robby and him high-five each other. I rolled my eyes.

“You two need to grow up,” I said.

“What?” Robby asked. Owen just shook his head and left the room. I walked over to Nicolas.

“You need to stay away from that girl,” I told him. “If not your sister is going to kill you.”

“Honestly, I didn’t even mean for it to happen, but that girl is hungry.” I started to laugh.

“Trust me I understand.”

“Yeah, you can keep that shit to yourself.” I laughed again.

“I might be older now but I remember how these girls can be.”

“Enough.” Nicolas headed out of the room.

“I’m still a hunk,” I said crossing my arms. I felt her arms go around me.

“Yes, you are baby.” She said in my ear. That just made me smile. I turned in her arms and pressed my lips to hers.

“Anna is going to kill him one day.” Danica smiled.

“No way, they love each other too much.”

“I guess your right about that. I mean they may fight but they would kill for each other.”

“Hell, your daughter can’t even have a date without Nicolas messing it up for her half the time.”

“She is sixteen and there will be no dates,” I stated with a frown.

“Oh so Nicolas can just run around catching any disease he wants, but Anna has to remain a saint?”

“Yep.” Danica just shook her head.

“I love you.” She said and left the room.

Nicolas POV,

I opened my eyes and knew right off the bat that something wasn’t right. I sat up and grabbed my gun. The house was way too quiet for my liking. I reached over and tried to turn my light on. It wasn’t coming on and that’s when I knew something was definitely not right. I snuck out of my bedroom and stayed as quiet as I could. The house was dark. Not a good sign. My bedroom was the closest one to Anna’s. I headed towards her first. I got to her door and it was locked. Fuck, I said to myself.

I moved towards my parent’s bedroom, but before I could open the door. Owen and a ton of soldiers came running up the stairs. “The silent alarms have been triggered,” Owen said. All the men had their guns out.

“Anna’s door is locked,” I said and Owen headed towards her door.

“Ryder!” I heard Jason yell out as we ran into my parent’s room. I stopped in my tracks as the scene unfolded in front of me. Both of my parents laid quiet in a pool of their own blood in their bed. I had never seen so much blood in all my life. Blood was everywhere. I couldn’t move as Jason went to their sides and started to see if they were alive or not. I was frozen and didn’t even know who the fuck I was at that moment. My eyes stayed on Jason’s as he went to my mother’s side first. Then he ran to my father’s side. He pulled his phone out and called an ambulance.

Owen came running into the room. “Anna is missing, we can’t find her anywhere.” My head turned and I took off towards her room. The room was a fucking mess and you could tell there was a struggle. Her window was wide open. What the fuck is going on? There have been no threats against us in months. Who the fuck attack and how did they do this? The house is a fucking fortress of security?

I watched as the world went in slow motion. My father was rushed out of the bedroom, but my mother was covered and moved out of the room much slower. I had Owen and Jason at my side. Jason reached out grabbed my arm. Where the hell was Robby? I thought to myself. That’s when I turned and looked at the front door as another body was being moved out of the house. “What the fuck happened?” I yelled out. My anger was something I had always had control over. My sister was the hothead, but something inside me snapped that night. I knew there was no turning back.
